Seraphina (Kuro/INV)

If there was one thing Kuro knew of nobility, it was that they enjoyed relaxation and embellishing themselves in the finer things in life. That was what the castles and servants were for, after all. Some considered it conceited, though Kuro's job was to guard, not to pass judgment. She, quite literally, could not care less how the nobles spent their free time, so long as they were safe. But that didn't mean she was blind to how that free time was spent. And Earth had resorts as well, so Kuro found herself at one in the likely vain hope she might spot a vacationer with pointed ears.

Her forays into other parts of the planet certainly hadn't yielded any better results, yet.

Although, she seemed to have found herself in some sort of... Martial arts training ground. There were still some people relaxing here and there, though, so there was still the chance someone could possibly be present. As Kuro ventured through the environment, though, her ears did not pick up anyone that was Konatsian. In fact, it was pretty much exclusively Earthlings. This was a disappointment. 

Kuro let out a somewhat frustrated huff of air through her nose and took a seat. It was beginning to look like her venture to Earth would be a largely unsuccessful one, despite its promising start. But what other planets may they have run off to? Plant was an active warzone, by all accounts. Namek had nothing desirable in the slightest, and Arcose... Well, it was frozen over entirely, so Kuro's presence there was nonnegotiable. 

What other planets were there, even? Beppa? Hera? Those didn't seem likely to Kuro. She sighed again, then glanced up and realized she had sat herself down in front of one of the martial arts classes. And was also near a dark-skinned woman who had already been sitting down. ...Maybe she could ask her? Not that asking locals about Konatsian sightings had yielded any fruit up to this point, but... It was worth trying.

"Excuse me," she asked the woman with the bright orange hair, "I am looking for some people who have long, pointed ears like me. You would not have happened upon any around here, would you?" 

Kuro had braced herself for many things on her travels away from Konats, but when a voice suddenly rang not in her ears, but in her mind, she was slightly taken aback. Her eyes very briefly widened, and her foot shifted a step back, though she quickly composed herself and did her best not to show any overt shock or surprise on her face. It wouldn't be terribly befitting of a royal guard such as herself to be so easily thrown off as to fall into disbelief at a mere mind trick. Kuro had simply never encountered a... Telepath? She supposed that was what one would call this. The warm smile the orange haired woman offered her did well to calm any doubts that something sinister was at work, regardless.

After this brief moment to recollect herself, Kuro replied, "No, I..." though then she paused and wondered if she ought to be replying out loud, or... In her head. Her dark eyes glanced around at the other patrons of the resort, and while none had taken notice of her yet, she assumed it may look somewhat odd for her to appear as though she was talking at this woman instead of with her. 

"Should I be replying to you out loud, or," Kuro paused, then continued with her thoughts. "In here?" The woman could clearly send thoughts into other minds, though the Konatsian had no way of knowing if she could receive thoughts as well. Though, if she could, didn't that mean all of this inner monologue Kuro was having was being received by the dark skinned woman's mind as well, and she stared blankly at the taller woman as a bead of sweat rolled down the side of her head.

Kuro would just... Assume the woman couldn't read her mind.

"Er, no, I'm not lost. And yes, I am looking for someone in particular: a handful of Konatsian nobles who have shirked their duty to our planet and must be returned home safely," Kuro explained aloud.

Whichever was... Easier? Kuro didn't actually know which of the two she'd find easier. It was easier to think than it was to speak aloud, she supposed, but it was also easier for her to maintain her grip on the reality of this situation by saying her words physically. Then again, it would still look odd to the occasional passerby if it appeared Kuro was just talking at this unresponsive woman. ...Though it might still look strange to those same passersby if Kuro and this woman were just engaged in a wordless staring contest of sorts.

Perhaps she was overthinking this.

Unfortunately, though, Kuro's journey would not be receiving the help it desperately needed here after all. Kuro let out the smallest of sighs through her nostrils as the orange haired woman confirmed she hadn't a single sighting of a Konatsian in the area. And even worse, the only one she had met was all the way over on Namek. "Namek?" Kuro replied wordlessly, opting to try out this telepathic conversation thing instead of speak half the conversation aloud. Namek was hardly the sort of place she expected a noble to shove off to. It was, in so few words, devoid of the luxuries Konatsian nobles seemed incapable of thriving without.

Earth was a far more reasonable place for the lot of nobles to have shoved themselves off to. So, why Namek...? Then again, this Konatsian the Earthling spoke of may not have even been one of the nobles. It was just impossible to say for sure. And while Kuro pondered her options, the Earthling inquired if she herself was among the Konatsian race.

"Hm? Of course," Kuro replied aloud this time out of pure force of habit, then briefly shut her eyes in a moment of self-annoyance before replying, mentally this time, "I know not of any other species across the galaxy with ears such as these. Aside from the Namekians, of course, but... Well, they have a few other features that make it obvious who they are." Kuro assumed she needed not specify those features.

And now it sounded like she may need to shove off to Namek, and that her entire time spent on Earth had been pointless. With a dramatic sigh, Kuro leaned back fully in her seat and bonked her head against the back of the chair. She knew it was counter to her duty, but she truly just wanted to give up and go home, already. Then again, was home even worth returning to without the nobles in tow? She almost wanted to cry out of sheer frustration, but simply refused to do so in front of this stranger. "I guess I'll be setting my course for Namek, then..." she grumbled at no one in particular.
