Ise hummed quietly to herself as she ‘watched’ some of the work being done to the exterior of the ship, it had not been an easy choice to decide on the changes she wanted made, the style of her ship was after all modeled after her Father’s own flagship, but Ise had plans, plans that involved taking what she still had and shaping it into something new, perhaps something better.

The design changes were the easiest way to begin to mark the change, to state firmly that she would be pushing forward.

Ise let out a sigh after a few moments of running that whole thing through her head again to help encourage herself to not have the work undone.

‘Watching’ was probably not the best choice but frankly with all the noise generated she could hardly do anything else, perhaps she ought to give Zerori a call, she could do with a distraction…

And it was then that she recognized the approach of a strong power signature, not one that posed her any risk but one far above the pathetic standards of the average set by those milling about the port.

Ise turned on her heel the very instant the stranger approched her, something felt… strange about his power and pattern, he was… almost familiar in a way? That question was quickly answered after the strange stumbled through his introduction and identified himself as Kabe Bonewood, ostensibly indicating he was biological relative of hers. Ise frowned for a moment in thought before remembering the name.

Vocado and Pitt had mentioned a Kabe, he was apparently another family member they had discovered prior to her “A pleasure to meet you Kabe, I assume you are already aware I am Ise Wintergreen. Did Vocado send you my way? If memory serves he mentioned your name when we first met some time ago but your exact relation to them and by extension myself was something we never quite covered.” Ise had at the time felt no particular interest in knowing more about the Bonewoods, Vocao and Pitt were fine enough but she had very much wanted no part of the family as a whole.

That sentiment was… mostly the same now if she was entirely honest but she was not about to wave off a… frankly she was unsure what Kabe was to her, the strange familiarity that existed in his signature was as potent if not perhaps STRONGER than Vocado and Pitt, was that simply a matter of Kabe seemingly being closer in age to her?

Ise sighed slightly as she wished she could more readily convey her thoughts non-verbally, she had listened to a number of stories and such where a character was described giving expressions that summed up simple concept, sadly her method of perception made grasping or even generally ‘seeing’ any sort of expression mostly impossible. Were she capable though she would have sought to express ‘obviously’ when Kabe asked if Vocado really had not informed her of their relationship.

She also made a mental note to punch Vocado for that when she next saw him, she quite liked to be as informed on things as possible especially when they theoretically pertained to her.

Eventually however after quite a bit of verbal stumbling and explanation Kabe revealed that he was… her brother.

That was… Ise was actually not quite sure how to react to that, she had not really thought about having a more direct family member than Vocado.

“Ah” Ise ‘responded’ after a moment, it DID make sense she supposed that he was a sibling, puzzling out what the patterns of her senses properly meant at times was hard but he had very clearly been like Vocado and Pitt, a relative, but one that felt stronger and there were not a ton of options for a stronger familial relation.

“Was there something you… needed?” Ise was still unsure about how to handle this, what little she knew was that like herself Vocado had been mostly unaware of Kabe when his name had come up, which suggested that perhaps he had been sent away like herself. Was there something… ‘wrong’ with him as well?

Ise grew quite curious as Kabe first began to speak, it seemed perhaps he had perhaps HAD ended up like her considering he had apparently grown up ‘alone in a jungle’ it made her idly wonder what about Kabe had prompted him also being sent away, and if that had been done before her or perhaps around the same time? He was likely older than her, that or he had somehow just been the one to take all the good height genes.

Ise would not have recognized who the name ‘Callion’ belonged to had Kabe not first slipped on almost calling the man ‘dad’ it was… interesting to have a name for the one who had sent her away, the very idea that she would EVER live with him though was enough to prompt a look of disgust from Ise, but the comment that Kabe followed up with rankled Ise, from a certain perspective perhaps she had gotten lucky but it had not been ‘luck’ that had taken her away from Callion.

“Let me make something clear, no place with ‘Callion’ is home to me, I have had the only Father I will ever need. Callion should feel lucky if I never cross his path because if ever I meet him I suspect he won’t survive. I was not ‘lucky’ nor did I “fall out of his hands” I was only lucky in that he was too much of a coward to kill me himself and decided a world within Arcosian space with a high number of predatory species was a better way to kill a child.” Ise’s voice was laced with a deep and passionate HATE for Callion, without Azoth the man who had sent her away had returned to the front of the line as Ise’s ‘most hated’ list, she had always endeavored to just put the Saiyan out of her mind, that he did not matter.

But having him brought up again, alongside the background frustrations of not really getting to play a part in Azoth removing himself from the board, something she felt reasonably certain was the case as opposed to the claims that he was properly dead, meant that Ise was less inclined to just brush off her feelings on the man.

The only good thing she supposed was that she now had a name for him.

Ise’s annoyed frown remained firmly in place as Kabe spoke up, at first she thought perhaps he might simply be trying to backpedal to save himself from making her angrier but all signs that she could read from him felt mostly genuine, and apparently his situation had been much like her own though he had apparently gotten to have their… mother… along for the ride.

Ise had a feeling however that she was not living peacefully on the ‘backwater jungle planet’ that Kabe had mentioned, even without him expanding much on it Ise could just sort of… feel… that there was something more to that and considering what else Kabe had mentioned she imagined that the woman was no longer alive.

Ise decided not to put much thought into that for now, it was neither certain nor was it… important?... That Ise was less sure of, she had for quite a long time simply chosen not to have any care for her Saiyan ‘parents’ that her Mother was not involved in her situation and was also now potentially gone was…

Ise shook her head, still better to not think of it right now.

“It’s… fine, you were not aware. And thank you.” Ise said followed by a long sigh as she opted to ALSO not let her thoughts stray back into the subject of her Fathers death “Why would he send someone after you? You appear to be reasonably strong.” Ise said partially curious what it was that might have prompted that response, perhaps simply a matter of Callion not wanting the ghosts of his past to come back for him.

“Also do you… know why you were sent away?” Ise had debated a bit on the merits of outright asking versus trying to simply puzzle it out herself based off of their interactions but Kabe seemed like a direct enough person that just asking would be unlikely to offend.

Kabe seemed amusingly casual about the fact Callion wanted him dead, clearly curious about the reasoning but seemingly not so focused on it that he could actually puzzle it out, Ise remained vaguely curious though the little bits that Kabe offered as possibilities, that Kabe might know something Callion wanted kept quiet was… interesting. Kabe was by his own admission quite young at the time so what could he know that would be so problematic years later?

As well Kabe confirmed that his situation while bearing vague similarities was still quite different from hers, he had been… rescued… by their mother it seemed, taken away to avoid Callions wrath only for her to end up dead on the planet Kabe had previously mentioned.

Ise was fairly certain Kabe had not realized the potential impact of his words, that while it was possible she had been sent off before him it was ALSO entirely possible she had simply not been taken, Ise frowned at the thought, it was not exactly NEW for her to have a feeling that her Saiyan parents had not cared for her and wanted nothing to do with her. Most of her life she had operated on that assumption for both, it was only recently that doubts on that front in regards to her ‘mother’ had surfaced.

Now her doubts had doubts.

“Why he wanted me dead is substantially easier to answer” Ise reached up and slowly pulled her visor off and in doing so made sure to also brush some of the hair away from her eyes to ensure Kabe was able to get a look at them clearly, slightly glassy and unfocused despite her attention being focused on him. “I am blind, my Father and I determined it most likely that he considered me useless to whatever it is he wants. Presumably he harbored the assumption that a blind Saiyan could not fight or somesuch.” Ise offered a shrug as if the notion did not bother her before she returned her visor to her face.

“Luckily my Father knew better.” It had taken a LONG time for them to devise a method for her to perceive the world in order to have an easier time reaching her potential, Ise had vague memories of when she HAD been properly blind and frankly she was rather certain if she had remained such she would STILL be a better fighter than most.

It was frankly just a bit disarming how direct Saiyans could be, Kabe in particular appeared to really emphasize that sort of thing with his questions about how she was able to perceive things, Ise briefly debated how exactly to respond, she generally was willing to give the basics of how she made things work if only to make sure that those she was friendly with did not make the foolish mistake of thinking her weaker or HINDERED because of it.

“Well my sense of smell IS better than average but to my understanding Pitt had a far more developed sense of smell than even I. My ability to perceive is a composite of all of my senses being better than normal, my hearing and ability to read energy are the most developed of them all but I’ve developed the ability to sort of blend it all together to give me a better understanding than any of them could individually provide.”

“I can with all of that roughly intuit basic shapes of things, I can get a clearer picture with time and greater use of my senses, it’s why” Ise raised a hand to show off her claw-like nails “I have these, drawing blood in a fight provides me an even better sense of my opponents state.” Ise said with a grin, she wasn’t QUITE sure why she felt comfortable giving Kabe this much knowledge on what she could do and HOW she did it, generally she kept most of what she had said under wraps to avoid having it used against her later, off the top of her head she was pretty sure only Zerori and Vocado had gotten that much out of her outside of those affiliated with the NSFW.

Ise found herself curious what Kabe meant by his own ‘unique affliction’ which he had apparently turned to his benefit, she assumed he was sighted unlike herself considering his general reaction to things, that he could understand what she was saying likely meant he could hear, perhaps it was something less direct? For the moment she would put questioning that off, Kabe seemed fairly open and the fact he had not immediately explained his own situation meant there was a chance it was not something he was yet comfortable discussing.

“It was a lengthy process, truth be told I’m still refining it to this day. It is not quite a perfect replacement for traditional sight even if it has some advantages over it” Ise said with a shrug, the biggest drawback was that she lacked much in the way of grasping fine details things like expressions were foreign to her unless someone was exceptionally expressive.

“Don’t get hung up on worrying too much about offending me with comments about seeing things, more often than not I *do* ‘see’ more than most people anyway” Ise said with a smirk, it was frankly MORE annoying for someone to stumble over themselves trying not to offend her. The revelation that Kabe was a Captain of some sort was QUITE interesting, she felt just a touch bad that she could not immediately identify him at least off of his name, it was probably for the best though that he might not have been on her radar, if he WAS it was likely he had been on her Fathers.

And if her Father had wanted him dealt with it was not unlikely he already WOULD be dealt with.

It was actually rather eerie to realize that there had been a non zero chance that her Fathers forces could have clashed with, perhaps even KILLED her Brother without anyone being the wiser. Kabe commented on her ship and that earned a smirk from Ise. As she understood it her personal ship WAS rather impressive though she really had to wonder what Kabe would think of the Emperor’s Arm.

The mention of HIS ships name however caught her attention “The Jormungandr? That sounds… familiar…” Ise muttered as she thought it over trying to recognize where she knew the name from, perhaps the NSFW had actually already been aware of him? It made sense that someone as strong as Kabe would have at least gotten SOME attention.
