Bound By Blood (Kabe)

Kabe's strike had struck it's mark, the savage blow sparking off of the enemy shield. Stricken with shock he was, however, when it seemed the sharpened sword had skidded aside, the barrier completely dispelling the slash. "Fuck!" Kabe growled, instinctually caught inbetween the rush of adrenaline he felt from realizing he was outmatched, and the reality of the situation dawning that he might be about to get his head kicked in.

But he took some pride in the fact that even through he was doomed to lose this scuffle, his uncle found merit in what little damage he could put out, and found solace in the knowledge that the size of his fight far outsized his battle power. Kabe could tell though that his uncle was holding back.

His approval voiced, Vocado had switched his stance and rushed the younger pirate, bringing with that burst of speed a flurry of hefty blows. He didn't have time to react, to dodge or block or parry. He didn't need it, though. His uncle was right- Bonewood blood flowed through his veins, and if there was one thing they'd all shown they were capable of, it was enduring savagery and brutality and fighting until their last breath.

He held firm as blow after blow rained down on him. A jab to his face rocking his senses, a jab to the gut stealing his breath, those few he endured with an X cross guard numbing his arms and leaving instantaneous brusing that he was sure he'd feel for days to come. His mother could survive months on a desolate planet, weaker than he was now, with shrapnel and steel sticking out of her side... he could endure this.

As the blows lightened up, he managed barely to parry a final jab, creating an opening that allowed him to leap back. Wiping the blow from his mouth and spitting to the ground, he grinned. "T-That all you got?" He managed, still deprived of breath.
