There is a famous Earthling saying that states war never changes, but whoever said that had clearly either never been in one or seen one from anywhere but a television show or cinema. Wars comes and go, sure, but each one is worse than the last, brings more pain than the last, and not only does war itself change, but it changes everything it touches.
Ward found himself again standing in the Sadala Capital, but under very different circumstances, and finding it different than when he was here last. It was just months ago he was standing next to Taori and Alpinia as Taori stood tall taking it place and staking his claim as the new leader of the Saiyan people, and by now he had to have heard of what happened here if Ward himself was aware. One of the two Arcosians who had retreated from the battlefield so many were at had come here apparently on the orders of Azoth, and the rest was staring everyone in the face. History would remember the war between the Saiyans and the Tuffles, and there was a chance history would remember what happened here, more so because of the near guaranteed outcome to follow. One war ends so another can begin, and no doubt war will once again change dramatically.
There was a somber mood mixed with anger and pure sadness among the people here, but Ward didn't know how to feel but worried. It felt like a lifetime he stood looking for the first time on what had taken place, a numb sensation from head to toe, hands dropped to his sides. He knew now that observing, standing by, trying not to get involved, those were all things of the past and no longer options for him. If this was where things were heading through escalation than it was time to get directly involved. The Saiyans, Tuffles, Arcosians, and everyone in between living on both planets were about to have their lives changed forever.
