"SHAAAH!"

Virus let out a shrill, chittery yell as he unleashed a strike towards Zriracha, aiming to bring a conclusion to the relentless assault that forced the mother away from the battlefield.

The creature let out a content and drawn-out breath, releasing his stance as he waited for the dust to settle. She'd already taken considerable damage; Virus could see that much. The Bio-Weapon formed a restless fist- she'd break soon.

Although, Virus hesitated, his senses having picked up several competent energy levels that were closing in on him. The child, among some others. Seems he had attracted more attention than he'd have hoped...

"Why do you drag your own child to these places?" Virus asked Zriracha, slowly walking over towards her. "I thought mothers were supposed to keep their children safe."

His heavy footsteps echoed out into the wastes as Virus came to a full stop, a few meters removed from Zriracha.

"...No matter. You and the child have no meaning in the grand scheme of this war."

Virus opened his arms as he breathed in slowly, as the collective Ki rushing through his very being began to ooze out into a potent aura that was enough to suffocate people under it's pressure alone. His very energy reeked of death itself.

"I suppose you should learn what happens when you interfere with something that lies entirely beyond your understanding...!"

It was kind of funny. Virus' very presence was that of a murderer- a real monster. And yet...It was already a certainty that the mother and child would leave this battlefield alive and well.

Just how alive though...That remained to be seen.

Virus gives some vague threats because villain or something lol

Ise was just bit surprised when her attack landed with seemingly no resistance on Zuqetta’s part, perhaps her focus has been too thoroughly on Taori or she had simply not realized that Ise was not on the same side as her in time to raise her guard but it made no real difference to Ise either way, the strike landed absolutely perfect and with the fresh scent of blood Ise was sure she could keep an even better read on Zuqetta’s general location now.

Ise flicked her hand to one side to rid her claws of the blood covering them as Zuqetta recovered from the strike, as part of Ise debated following up before she could properly do so several attacks were aimed at Zerori and Zriracha, even as frustrated as she was as the moment over Zerori seemingly siding with Zuqetta and technically AZOTH over her it still bothered her to know she was in danger, it brought her a bit of relief that Zerori managed to narrowly pull herself away from the attack though Zriracha was now locked in combat with Virus.

She was VERY conflicted on the idea of simply letting Virus continue freely attacking Zerori, even if Virus was operating under Taori’s ‘no killing’ rules the insectoid being was quite dangerous.

Ise refocused her attention as Zuqetta recovered properly and seemed far less completely focused on Taori now, surprisingly she did not even seem exceptionally angry with Ise which only served to confuse the young Saiyan, she had figured her attack would redirect whatever fury Zuq had toward Taori onto herself and it would give her free reign to release her own anger at her, the fact Zuqetta opted to start actually chatting almost took the wind out of Ise’s sails.

“I had planned to say more, I simply assumed you all might have spoken with me first before rushing off without a word” Ise said with an annoyed huff, it was even true she HAD planned to talk to Zuq and Zer, figure out why they were working for the Tuffles and ideally get them to instead help with an attack on Azoth.

Ise was VERY tempted to point out that in the literal sense, no she could NOT infact ‘see’ that there was a war going on. “I am well aware of the war, Taori informed me of his plan to wrap up the war in advance after all” Ise said with a shrug “I am here at his request to aid in making sure things go smoothly. The outcome of the war is of no real consequence to me, but Taori is an ally and I’d much prefer he control this planet rather than someone backed by that bastard” Ise said making a gesture toward where Azoth had taken off to, she was vaguely aware that Kayfor had likely been the one to cause the Arcosian to break off from the rest of the battle and she could only hope Kayfor had the strength to keep Azoth at bay.

Zuq was apparently uninterested in a fight with Ise something Ise was not QUITE sure how to interpret, WHY was Zuqetta unwilling to fight her?

With a frown Ise would attempt to place herself in Zuqetta’s path “You’re operating on the assumption that not fighting me is an option. I had hoped originally to get you and Zerori to help me, maybe work something out depending on why it is you apparently are invested in stopping Taori. But if that is not an option that means we are on opposing sides, and I am not particularly inclined to let you do as you want.” Ise

Virus was making his grand declaration to Zerori and Zriracha and Ise let out a low sigh, better to deal with THAT now rather than later, it was probably less likely that Virus would listen when already deep into a battle.

“Virus, those two are important to me. I’ll personally toss you into the nearest star if you take lethal action against them.” Ise called not bothering to actually turn to Virus since she had no need to ‘look’ at him to focus on the BioAndroid and she was well aware that the state he was in now had hearing more than good enough that he would have no ability to claim he had not heard her.

“If you don’t think you can do that, go find someone else to fight. Maybe test yourself against Azoth. I can handle this myself if need be” it was perhaps more than a little arrogant on her part to suggest that she could take on Zuqetta, Zerori, AND Zriracha all at once but Hibernal had most certainly not raised a humble heir.

As well… perhaps if given the chance she still COULD get through to the trio.

From her heavily injured but prideful stance, Zriracha would cock an eyebrow up at Virus’ quite obvious taunt thrown her direction. Alas, it only seemed to fuel the satyr woman’s ego as she laughed softly, “I’d say ‘You know how children can be’, yet it is plainly obvious that you know little in the way of child-rearing. Protecting your child is only a part of a great many pieces in the universe,” She lowered herself into a stance, her own red eyes twinkling with glee.”

Finally catching up with the devastation of her mother’s painful landing, Zerori’s legs slammed into the ground in a reckless motion to break right in front of her before she turned to face her chosen opponent. With her back to her mother, Zerori would snarl while keeping her glowing red eyes locked on Virus, “I’m not leaving. Don’t even TRY to tell me to attack the King again! It was bad advice anyway and you look terrible!”

Looking down at her daughter, Zriracha would scoff with a soft chuckle, “As horn-headed as ever, I see. Very well; this shall be a battle for you and I to see to its end.” And with that, Zriracha focused herself on Virus, ready to put their battle prowess to the test. Ahead of her and ready for anything, Zerori snarled at Virus as his aura bled nothing but killing intent. Before she could attempt to engage him, however, the arrival of Ise had her heart skipping a few beats. She swallowed, fighting down the sudden influx of hope that had surged within her at the thought that Ise had come to help her.

After everything had gone so wrong so quickly, Zerori couldn’t afford to fall into a false sense of security. Zerori listened, her shoulders tensed painfully, as Ise made it clear that she wouldn’t abide her and her mother getting killed… yet, in that very same breath, the claim to ‘handle things’ herself gripped Zerori’s heart like a vice.

The words tumbled out before she could stop them, “So that’s it, then?” Zerori seethed coldly, “-I matter to you enough to protect but you’ll ‘handle me’ right when I need to keep a promise?!” She stepped forward intimidatingly, “You’re stronger than me, Ise… but that ain’t gonna stop me from keeping Taori’s army from entering the city,” At her sides, her fists ignited into bright red flames fiercely. Then, she grinned sharply, “Why don’t you step aside? That’ll be your birthday gift TO ME!” She finished, practically roaring it toward Ise as she fought off the tears that nearly fell from the sudden rawness of emotions that came with remembering how lonely she felt on her birthday after she parted ways with Yakone and Korado.

From behind her, unaware of what had happened during her daughter's day of birth, Zriracha cast Zerori a look of concern - looking between Ise and her daughter as she tried to put the pieces together. "Daughter. Calm yourself," She tried to console, the confidence she held mere seconds ago melting into an anxiety only the fear of the unknown could bring.

Stopped in her advance by Ise, Zuqetta could only hope that Zerori and Zriracha could protect themselves for the moment while she indulged her would-be obstacle. Zuqetta listened intently to Ise's explanation, taking a breath and calming herself as she came to the realization of Ise's perspective. She could see the monster that had rushed Zriracha closing in once more for another attack, but would keep her primary focus on Ise; giving a light sigh of relief as she heard Ise's remark towards the monster.

"Heh, glad ta know that in spite of all this, you're at least looking out for Z." Zuqetta would remark before taking a more serious stance, "Ise, I'm sorry for ignoring you..." Zuqetta began, "It wasn't my intention to upset you, but frankly, there are too many things ta say and not enough time ta say them!" She would explain, "I don't know your relation with Taori, but if you have no stake one way or the other in this war, then please, don't stop us from trying to protect the Tuffles!" She would finish, just on time to hear Zerori's mumbling evolve into shouting.

Zerori's aggression certainly wasn't going to help in term of negotiation, and to make matters worse, there was no telling what the bug monster had planned. Zuqetta found her mind racked with thoughts and riddled with confusion; she was aware of how Azoth dealt with Hibernal and expected some form of retaliation from Ise... but to expunge another race to fulfill whatever goal she had?

"Ise, Taori might end this war today, but a peace by conquest is no peace at all." Zuqetta would state firmly, hoping Zerori's outburst wouldn't derail things too much, "I don't know what Taori thinks might happen if he wins this battle, but if he thinks things will end by taking the city, then he's sorely mistaken." She would explain, "If he thinks that those that lost their families will listen to the order not to kill just because he said so, then he's wrong. To those that lost their loved ones, the structures beyond those walls mean nothing to them; it's the Tuffle people they want, and in a war of this scale... indeterminable 'accidents' are sure to happen..."

If it was a talk Ise wanted, then it was a talk she would get; still, it was difficult for Zuqetta to contain her agitation. The Saiyans had already begun their assault on the Tuffle city, Azoth was otherwise preoccupied with his own battle, and Blizzard was no where to be found. Things were already looking grim, and Zuqetta knew that prolonging this encounter with Ise and Virus would only make things more difficult for the Tuffles. If she couldn't convince Ise to aid the Tuffles, then she hoped to at least dissuade her from interfering; even with that however, would still be the matter of contending with Virus...

Musing over his own destructive thoughts, Virus didn't even care to look back towards Ise and Zuqetta as they made their way towards him.

His aura faded for a moment, brow cocking upward ever-so-slightly as Ise mentioned how important these two Demons were to her. How adorable of her to have friends as these!

"Ok, lol." Virus chuckled dryly, keeping his gaze fixated on Zriracha and Zerori. It's not like he was planning on exerting lethal force anyway; Taori had given those orders, after all.

"Azoth can wait. I need something that can help shake off the rust beforehand...!"

Every party needed a pooper, though- this much was apparent when the child before Virus began speaking up. She was obviously upset about this whole ordeal, and her ear-wrenching complaints frustrated the Bio-Weapon greatly.

Virus couldn't help but scoff in response to Zerori's fervent screaming.

"How dramatic!"

A sarcastic grin flashed towards the girl for only a moment, before fading entirely. He walked over to stand directly in the way of Zerori and Ise, glaring down toward the teenager with a deadly serious look.

"Silence yourself, girl. What do you even truly know about her? How much she has suffered? The weight on her shoulders?" Virus scoffed, flicking his head in gesture towards Ise. "Do you truly think you're the only thing that matters to her? This is much bigger than you."

"A mother and child drag eachother into a war with their very lives at stake...And for what? Your personal baggage? You truly sicken me."

Crouching down to her eye-level, Virus gazed deeply into the child's eyes and spoke very clearly to her.

"You have no place here, girl. This. Is. Not. Your. Fight."

After the words escaped Virus' mouth, the Bio-Weapon faded from view in the blink of an eye. With utterly inhumane speeds, he made his way behind the girl's mother, Zriracha, and attempted to bring her to the ground with a shoulder lock.

"I'm going to give you four!-" Virus paused, and with one violent motion, attempted to snap Zriracha's arm like a twig. "No, three chances to leave this place and quit wasting our time!" He smiled like a complete sociopath, completely devoid of any compassion or mercy. If only she had more limbs.

"So, what will it be, girl!?"

After giving his ultimatum to Zerori, Virus attempts to pin Zriracha down and break her arm with a [Light]Adaptive Strike! 156,960 PL in damage coming at Zriracha.

“Of course I look out for her!” Ise said face flushing red briefly with… frustration? Right? That had to be it. Ise shook the confusing thoughts off as Zuqetta spoke on and frowned as she made a go at getting Ise to stand down assuming she still had no stake in the conflict itself, however today had unfortunately for Zuqetta drastically changed that.

“I had no stake in this conflict before, but now I do. Taori requested my aid and beyond that with Azoth putting his weight behind the Tuffles I’m only MORE inclined to back Taori since it guarantees someone not aligned with Azoth has control over Plant.” In general Ise had little care for what would happen to Plant beyond that, she was chiefly concerned with Azoth getting more aid and potential allies.

“The Tuffles will be ultimately FINE, Taori specifically does not want them killed and while its no guarantee that there wont be some casualties it could very easily put an END to the war here, a war that without and end will just continue killing more of both Saiyans and Tuffles” Zuqetta clearly held a far more distinct need to preserve the lives involved so while the ‘it will save lives actually’ argument was not one Ise would usually use it could certainly apply here.

“And perhaps actually losing definitely will spur the Tuffles to do the smart thing and just leave. They easily have the means to do so, all they would need is a viable planet, ideally one that HASN'T been battered into a wasteland” Why the Tuffles stubbornly clung to Plant was beyond her comprehension, yes sure letting the Saiyans have their homeworld might sting but frankly it was not a world particularly worth HAVING anymore.

It was at that point that Zerori’s shout drew Ise’s attention as her friend furiously shouted her response to Ise’s comments on ‘handing’ her and the others. Ise scowled as Zerori brought up whatever promise she had apparently made to Zuqetta “What about me! You said you would help me take down Azoth! And now you're fighting WITH HIM!” Ise could have very easily forgiven as much were she not involved in this conflict, taking the same side as Azoth was not particularly outside of the realm of likelihood for Zerori but that she did so with Ise HERE was the part that infuriated her.

Ise was half ready to continue when VIRUS took over and much to her surprise it was not simply him rushing in to continue the fight, he genuinely came to her defense backing up her reasons for standing firmly on the side she was on, it was just a bit surprising not because she had thought Virus incapable of such a thing but rather that she had assumed him unlikely to care. It was surprisingly nice.

Still though Virus was ever the predatory creature and he had Zriracha as his ideal prey, Ise moved without thinking much of it as Virus verbally attacked Zriracha while preparing for what would be to her a VERY dangerous physical attack. Ise was intercepting the attack already just moments after she realized it and even then she pushed forward to do so.

Perhaps she might have some frustration with Zerori at the moment, and by proxy Zuqetta, but Ziracha had not actually done anything to anger her and Ise was not quite comfortable with the Demon being harmed so brutally.

Ise took the strike intended to shatter Zrirachas arm and grit her teeth as a surge of pain rushed through her, Ise was glad she had just enough presence of mind to enhance herself BEFORE taking the hit as otherwise she doubted she would have taken the attack as well.

“New plan Virus, I need to handle this and you trying to dissect my friends mom is making this harder. I appreciate the help though.” Ise said hoping Virus would not be TOO frustrated by her stepping in here. “I’m fairly certain Kayfor is fighting Azoth, can you go make sure he makes it out of this. Take a chunk out of the bastard as well?” Hopefully she would get to join that fight but first she needed to deal with all of THIS.

What was worse was that Zuqetta of all people were the voice of reason in this situation and Zerori couldn’t help but toss a confused look her friend’s way before her attention was snatched away by Virus once more. And oh… did she hate what he had to say.

Any rational thought she would have had about how much Ise had gone through and what she was trying to accomplish was little more than lost on the rage that tainted her mind as this ‘thing’ that came out of nowhere and was unknown to her until this moment had the BALLS to not only tell her she was in the wrong when it came to her own friend but that she had no place on the Tuffle side of the war?! For the first time in her life, Zerori felt as though she really could have killed someone in that moment and images of her smashing her fist into Virus’ face repeatedly played like a video on repeat in her head.

When Ise yelled back at her, claiming she was on Azoth’s side after promising to help her, Zerori’s red eyes would flare briefly before she spoke, “I don’t give a SHIT if he’s ‘on my side’! I came here for my own reasons, Ise and that WASN’T part of the promise I made to you!” Fighting Azoth with Ise had nothing to do with protecting the people that were her only clue to where her Dad had gone off to.

It wasn’t until her mother was in danger AGAIN that Zerori was finally able to snap out of the haze of rage, neck snapping around as she watched her mother nearly be taken to the ground. “Cowardly BASTARD!” She yelled Ise, however, had taken the assault in her mother’s stead and in just a scant few fraction of seconds, her emotions had gone from battle high to regretful low - her own words ringing in her head as she looked at Ise’s injury made by Virus. An injury meant for her mother.

Zriracha, still at odds with her daughter’s more aggressive than usual behavior, could only look to Ise with an expression of concern, “Are you alright? That was quite a hit you took for me,” She, too, was also conflicted but her stake in this battle was as personal and selfish as any since it was ultimately her daughter’s decision on where they would go. Virus was right on most accounts, but that didn’t stop her from giving him a cocky smirk at the situation that fared in her favor for the moment.

With a snarl, Zerori refused on Virus with a look that could kill, fists shaking at her sides as she spoke, “Get the fuck out of here if you’re gonna run. But I ain't gonna forget what you did...” She promised, the sound of knuckles popping and cracking audibly heard as she forced every iota of self-control into not attacking him. If he chose at that moment to leave, Zerori would turn her attention back to Ise - expression softening only just enough to look disappointed. A look from her mother a moment later had Zerori swallow and turn away.

“...Thank you.” It felt like ash in her mouth to say, but the feeling of everything just being wrong wrong wrong just wouldn’t subside. She didn’t want to feel indebted to Ise for protecting her mother but it felt like her arms were tied. “‘M gonna make it clear. I don’t care that Azoth joined this battle, but I’m not gonna stop you if you want to make THIS the moment we attack him. I would think you'd know I keep my promises, Ise,” She hissed the last word, not wanting to leave it to anyone’s imagination where she stood. “I just don’t see why you’d trust a liar to keep his word that the Tuffles will be 'fine'.” Zerori scoffed, doubt clearly written on her face even if she hadn’t decided to react with open hostility.

She wasn't going to drop her guard, however, knowing just how powerful Ise could be.

Zuqetta could only grit and bear the words that escaped Ise's lips; it was becoming clear that to Ise, the only way to end a war was for one side to win and the other to lose. It was an uncomfortable logic to deal with, as it was one that felt all too similar to the very man Ise sought to bring an end to, Azoth. Perhaps it was simply the Arcosian way to think in such a manner; after all, every conflict Azoth had been in ended not with negotiation, but with a winner on one side and a loser on the other. It had been something she'd argued with him about time and time again, and something Zuqetta thought she had adapted to; in the heat of this moment however, it had become clear that her personal perspective hadn't changed at all.

Still, what Ise spoke rang true; the Tuffles certainly had the technology to escape this planet and it wasn't like there was a reason to stay. The war had made the planet an absolute wasteland, and from what she'd gathered up till this point, the Tuffles didn't seem like the types to stay in a place for sentimental reasons. Regardless, it didn't sit right with Zuqetta, but there was hardly any counter to the logic. Even should she have wanted to counter, the chance would escape her as she suddenly felt the clear murderous intent of Virus surge up as he rushed towards Zriracha.

Quickly manifesting her sword, Zuqetta prepared to intercept; to her surprise however, Ise had already made the move to do so herself. Relief washed over her, but that relief was quickly overpowered by a rage fueled by Virus' words. As he spoke down to Zerori and Zriracha both, acting so high and mighty himself, Zuqetta could feel her anger boiling further and further. Ise had given the go ahead for Virus to leave; a logical decision that would have allowed the chance for the three girls to speak; but was it really okay to simply leave things as is? To let him get away with everything he did and tried to do without a scratch? To let him do as he wanted? As Ise wanted??

"You..." Zuqetta would mutter as she gripped tightly to her sword and tried to rationalize the situation.

Azoth would be able to handle himself, he'd proved that time and time again; allowing Virus to leave this place would be nothing but beneficial... and yet...

Energy would begin to channel through Zuqetta's blade as she thought of how Virus had struck at Zriracha; what he would have gotten away with, and what he'd continue to get away with in the future. It did matter if Azoth could handle him and it didn't matter that Blizzard had abandoned her to fight on her own. All that mattered was the clear injury that Zriracha had sustained, and the hate and rage that Zuqetta felt because of that.

On a single aspect, Zuqetta could agree with Virus; from her perspective, this was neither Zerori nor Zriracha's fight...

With her energy exploding around her in a burst of fury, Zuqetta would rush forward at full speed towards Virus; brandishing the back of her sword to strike at full force upon the creature. Ise was in the way, and Zuqetta still held no intention of harming her; but she wouldn't allow that to stop her from continuing her motion toward Virus. This might not have been their fight, but...

"This IS my fight though, BASTARD!!!!"

Virus' chitinous brow cocked upward with intrigue, finding the debilitating blow meant for Zerori's mother to be received by his very own ally. The Bio-Weapon cracked a curious smile; Right, right...They were important to her.

Releasing his hold on Zriracha, Virus took a step backwards and gazed towards Ise with enjoyment. The young warrior told Virus that this was her battle, and that she should be the one to handle things with the people she considered dear to her.

"...Very well." Virus smiled, accepting Ise's terms. While he'd have loved to torment Zerori further, he supposed it wouldn't work wonders to build relations with Ise. And besides...

...Azoth seemed a lot more appetizing.

Zerori's energy inching closer to him caught the Bio-Weapon's intrigue, and he turned to face her fully. Her energy was filled with an extreme, boundless rage that not many could replicate. The sheer murderous pressure coming off of her was enough to finally capture Virus' curiosity.

"Khahaha! Consider your grievances noted, child. Feel free to find me after this battle is finished..."

Virus looked away from Zerori and turned his sights to beyond the walls of Hatchi City, to the source of Azoth's cataclysmic Ki. Even from here, the sheer pressure the Arcosian Emperor gave off sent a lively tingle down the Bio-Weapon's spine. He simply couldn't wait...!

"Ise." Virus called out to her, pausing with a smile. "...Azoth will not get away. This I ca-..." What was supposed to be his momentary farewell was cut short as Virus' fine-tuned senses picked something up...Something strong and unstable.

His sights slowly dragged themselves to Zuqetta, the Saiyan child that Virus had paid no mind to up until then. She seemed livid; Absolutely furious beyond rationality. Judging by that destructive energy, and the way she was charging at Virus screaming her head off...He assumed she wasn't okay with him leaving.

A sharp burst of energy allowed Virus to side-step the cataclysmic blow with little effort, all thanks to his heightened sense of kinetic movement. It allowed Virus to see Zuqetta's charge in slow-motion, practically seeing the Saiyan move past him at a snail's pace. It was going to take a lot more power than that to catch Virus in this state.

"Pardon me for asking..." Virus paused, aiming to wrap his clawed hand around Zuqetta's face whilst she dashed past him, before attempting to smash her head against the rocky ground. "But who are you again?"

Releasing his grip, Virus stood to his full height, face contorting into an annoyed scowl.

"I have important matters to attend to, girl. Don't you see your friend wishes to talk?" Virus lazily thumbed over towards Ise, before growling to himself. The irrationality of these children was really starting to get on his nerves.

"Someone she cares about is possibly being dismantled by Azoth at this very second. I have no interest in killing either of you, all I want is the Emperor's head. So, be a good girl and talk to your friend, okay?"

Virus rolled his neck and sucked in a deep breath- he could begin to feel the strain this Form left on his brain. He'd best hurry.

"We don't have much time, Ise. I won't let the Emperor get away."

Once again, Virus attempted to launch himself off the rocky ground, cratering it beneath him. A dense streak of energy trailed the Biodroid as his senses honed in on Azoth's energy signature, charging towards it like a blood-starved beast.

Virus activates a Bare-Knuckle Brawler boosted [Light]Hunter's Instincts to evade for 90% (354,780), evading Zuqetta's attack with seemingly no effort.

He shows no interest in fighting either Zerori or Zuqetta, and attempts to leave the split to aid Kayfor against Azoth.

Ise let out a sigh of relief as Virus seemed to readily accept the idea of ending his assault on Zerori and Zriracha in favor of taking on Azoth and gave him a nod as he began to back off, it was frankly a massive relief on multiple fronts because the power Azoth was putting out was frankly VERY concerning since the person he was fighting was to the best of her knowledge just Kayfor, that he appeared to STILL be pushing his top end meant that hopefully Kayfor was quite powerful, he had always SEEMED rather strong but his lack of natural energy made it impossible for Ise to ever REALLY know.

With Virus’ choice made it meant that finally Ise could sort things out here, Kayfor would have some backup, Azoth would be kept distracted, and perhaps this could all be salvaged into something good for her plans.

Ise rolled the shoulder of her injure arm as she turned slightly to Zerori, she’d have to ask about the ‘trust a lier’ comment as she had so far been given no reason not to trust Taori “I’ll always do my best to keep you and Zriracha safe Zer, and I WOULD like to think you do but It’s hard for me to understand why you might NOT be if you decide to ignore me and attack someone else while I’m trying to figure things out!” Ise said with a scowl, perhaps Zerori could have made some sort of case for NOT trusting or working with Taori, Ise likely STILL would not have really worked with the Tuffles as they had Azoth backing them but perhaps she could have focused on HIM rather than this whole mess happening.

“I appreciate you not trying to detain Virus, this will be much easier if we can all just-” Ise had for just a few moments been pleased that things might FINALLy get on track, that they could finally sort things out with Virus gone and no longer posing a threat to any of the others, but then Zuqetta opted to NOT let Virus leave earning guttural growling noise born of frustration and anger from Ise.

“Oh you HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME!” Ise snapped as she rounded on Zuqetta “Do you not think AT ALL, I JUST got him to willingly stop attacking Zriracha and you just HAVE to try and keep him from going off to fight literally ANYONE ELSE?! Do you seriously not realize that he could just as easily attack her again to mess with you?” Ise was no expert on the mentality of the insectile predator but that seemed VERY much in his wheelhouse, it was infact exactly what he had done to get a rise out of Zerori and the fact Zuqetta was clearly angered by those attacks as well only increased the chances.

Thankfully Virus was more willing to stick to her request and Ise remained quite happy that she had taken the time to form a bond of sorts with him enough that he was willing to do so. With an annoyed growl Ise would rush forward and attempt to deck Zuqetta in the jaw to hopefully redirect her attention further if Ise’s frustrated rant was not enough. The fact it served to help vent some of her own frustrations was simply a pleasant byproduct.

With every fiber of her being, Zerori wanted nothing more than to just deck the arrogant bastard in the face as he seemed to only be amused by her promise to make him regret attacking her mother. She didn’t know what connection Virus had to Ise, but it must have been deep for him to not only do what she said but to also appear to be on the same wavelength of hatred for her Arcosian friend. Once more, it felt as if Ise was slowly fading away right before her eyes and this time… it wasn’t Ise’s other senses being blinded by hatred but Zerori’s own that pushed ravenously against her typical aversion to stuff like this. It left the little hybrid wondering what else had changed since coming to the Mortal Realms…

Zerori struggled with words, remembering why she’d been so angry at Ise, but not realizing that she’d ignored her. The battle had been mere seconds from starting and she’d thought that it might have been that she was focused… it ran deeper than that. “I-... I wasn’t trying to ignore you, but I didn’t expect to see you here either!”

When it appeared that Virus was taking off finally, Zerori was only slightly grateful that she could pay more attention to not only her mother’s wounds but Ise’s as well - until a shocking yell and dramatic spike of power beside her had Zerori watching in stunned silence as Zuqetta rushed past her with her sword at the ready. “Zuq-?!” Zerori yelled, her arm held out as if she could have caught Zuqetta before she did something as irrational as her! In a show of his power, however, it appeared Zerori didn’t have to do a damn thing - even going so far as to slam her friend in the ground.

No! Came a sudden dark and livid voice, one Zerori held no awareness to decipher. While Virus was already off of Zuqetta, Zerori didn’t hesitate to rush toward Virus with fangs bared threateningly and sudden manifestation of shadowy claws manifested not from her back but from her own arms - as if her flesh had been possessed by shadows that gave her almost feral appearance. “Stay AWAY from her!” She’d attempted to swipe at him with her claws but most certainly missed. A mistake that would surely lead to his successful escape.

She scoffed, begrudgingly keeping her word to not pursue him but turning to Ise as she witnessed Ise’s angrily giving Zuqetta a (regretfully) earned scolding. It burned her to let Virus leave but she’d made too many miscalculations and Ise was fucking ONE of them. On opposing sides, with her Mother less helpful and more of a sitting target, what was she expected to do?! She hardly had a moment to consider what to do or think before she watched Ise rush at Zuqetta with her fist pulled back and it was in those seconds - slowed down by Zerori potentially witnessing her nightmares possibly coming to life before her eyes - that she reacted upon the only instinct she felt.

In a blur of power, a burst of speed spell casted to where she needed to be, Zerori was in front of Zuqetta in a instant with a clawed arm attempting to reach out and wrap around her body to try and hold her where she was to prevent her from attacking Ise - while her other clawed hand dug deep into the ground to not only stop her momentum but take the punch that was clearly intended for the fiery girl behind her. Her neck snapped to the side from the force of the punch but thanks to her firm hold in the dirt, she didn’t move from her place. Blood splattered against the ground from Zerori’s mouth, the impact of the punch nearly sounding like a gunshot going off with the amount of force placed behind it.

Doing her best to ignore the ringing in her ears and the pain in her jaw, the claw in the dirt would relinquish its hold on the ground to gently come up and push Ise away. Zriracha, having watched the events unfold with hardly the wherewithal to respond in kind, could only stare with shame at the quickly developing realization that her coming here, no matter the intention, had only created more problems for her daughter whom had changed so much in her absence.

When she looked back at Ise, showing that the quickly swelling injury that enveloped her cheek, darkening bruise and blood that ran down her chin didn’t deter her from speaking. “We’re not doin’ this. Not today, not-... not against you.” It HURT to speak, her jaw feeling like it was out of place but she finished but doing her best to force the shadows away from her body, releasing Zuqetta in the process if she'd managed to get a hold of her at all. “If it starts now, Ise, it won’t stop. Just like with Azoth, one punch ain’t gonna be enough so…if the people I care about are in the way of your fists,” She stood up straighter, determination clear in her eyes in spite of the nasty work done on her face.

“I’m just gonna have to take ‘em.”

Her strike had come down with nearly the same force as what she had used to land a hit against Azoth; yet in spite of that, within the very second her sword had swung downward, she had found a malformed claw clutched against her face, driving her back with excessive force. In a mere moment, as her power dropped, Zuqetta had been slammed into the rocky ground beneath them. The force had been enough to indent her in a Zuqetta shaped hole, stealing her breath at the moment of impact. In spite of this, the monster showed little to no sign of care for the situation; continuing on his previous order to leave the scene as previously ordered by Ise.

Dazed and somewhat confused, as the ringing in her ears from the impact died down, Zuqetta could hear Ise's tirade against her. Gritting her teeth as she lay on the ground, tears of frustration would begin to form at the corner of her eyes. The words of so many she had encountered would replay in her mind; from her own adoptive sister, Vennel, to the random adorable cat-boy, Dark. The realization that there were people on par, if not even stronger than Azoth was painful; but even more painful was her own shortcomings, her weakness, and her inability to make any difference at all. She had failed to stop the war from starting, failed to protect the friends she made beyond the wall like Korado and Dion; but even worse, she couldn't even defend Zerori's honor, or protect Zriracha from the monster that had been before her.

Zuqetta would pull herself up from her divot, registering every word of Ise' before taking notice of her oncoming strike. She had every right to be angry, as every word was true; Zuqetta had though of nothing more than to get vengeance against Virus in place of Zerori, and as always, had been overconfident in her abilities. Had the monster decided to stay, then there would be no telling the damage he could have continued to reap against the ones she cared about. Shutting her eyes, Zuqetta would loosen up as she prepared for the well deserved strike; when the sound of a strike rang out, but without the accompaniment of pain, even further confusion would follow suit.

"Z...?" Zuqetta would question, feeling a familiar touch against her before opening her eyes to witness the recipient of the punch meant for her, "Z, what're you-!?"

A cold chill would move down Zuqetta's spine as she watched the blood trickle down Zerori's mouth and heard her speak. As opposed to her usual angsty and vibrant self, the way she spoke now felt almost dark, and far more serious than she had ever heard Zerori speak. The realization of everything began to dawn on Zuqetta; what could happen to Zerori if they continued to fight in this war, what could happen if she really did as she said, and threw herself in the way of danger. She was now realize the cost of, as Ise put it, 'getting her way'.

"Z... I'm sorry..." Zuqetta would say weakly as she allowed her transformation to become undone, "I... I didn't-" She'd say, shaking her head, "I wasn't thinking..." She continued as she struggled to prevent tears from rolling down her face with a frustrated expression.

As she had told Dark once before, she enjoyed fighting; but war wasn't 'just a fight', the potential consequences were far more than she believed she could handle. The words that so many had told her hand now rung true, she wasn't cut out for war...

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." Zuqetta would say painfully as she hung her head and allowed her sword to dematerialize.

Once again, she had failed at everything and would be letting down any who placed even a pinch of faith in her. She couldn't continue fighting in this war if it meant that something could happen to Zerori or Zriracha; even if it meant abandoning Azoth as he fulfilled his role as 'Hero'. It wasn't like she was a hero after all, she had no obligation to fight; she only wanted to protect those she cared about... her friends... Zerori.

Ise had not particularly cared if her punch WOULD land on Zuq, her last attack had landed quite effectively and Zuq seemed to become hyper-focused in situations like this if her small sample size of the other girl’s way of fighting and reacting to things was particularly accurate.

She was a bit torn on how much she WANTED to hit Zuq, there was a lot of frustration built up in a short span of time and well, she WAS strong enough to take a few hits. Really Ise just wanted to get her attention focused on herself even if that meant a fight. That would let her relieve some of the frustration without TOO much danger… right?

That might have been Ise’s intent, but it was unfortunately NOT how things ended up playing out, she had not quite registered the surge of power from Zerori, mostly she had brushed it off as likely a surge related to heightened emotions, Zuq was brawling with Virus and Ise own comments might have had an effect.

But then Zerori was not in the same spot she had been in, suddenly she was moving fast enough that Ise could not quite fully keep track of her, until suddenly she was right in her path. Ise had only a fraction of a moment to start processing with a sharp sense of horror that her fist was about to, and in the next moment WAS connecting with Zerori rather than Zuqetta.

Landing a hit was usually a great thing, her abilities made it more obvious to her the extent of the damage she usually did. This time however Ise hated every moment of it, hated that her brain immediately informed her of the extent of the damage she had done, how she had probably come VERY close to full on breaking her friend’s jaw.

And then she caught the scent of the blood, drawing blood was usually incredibly useful, made it all the easier for Ise to keep track of her opponent, now it just informed her MORE on how she had harmed Zerori.

Ise recoiled as if SHE had been struck the very moment she could, shaking slightly and looking terrified as she did so, she had NO idea how Zerori would respond and even less understanding of WHY Zerori had done that. As Ise was internally panicking and trying hard to block out the sensory information constantly reminding her of the fact she had just rather badly injured one of the most important people to herself.

“I..I..wh..” Ise could not quite manage to get her nerves under enough control to even speak properly as her mind raced with all the likely very BAD outcomes of all of this.

Staring across the dirt and dust just outside the city, Zeror’s gaze was kept to Ise - even as the realization of hitting her in the face came as a slow, painful understanding. From behind her, Zerori could hear Zuqetta’s repeated mantra over and over about how sorry she was and Zerori wanted to just turn around and hug her and tell her to shut the fuck up. Nothing about this was what she wanted! She wanted to be here to protect the Tuffles because if she was ever going to find her Father, they were the key to do so! That their city, technology, the people that she’d met, everything was more than what she had expected… were all just extra complicating factors.

With the calm of the battle, yet not the tension, eased somewhat, Zerori could feel something was off about the battlefield at large. Briefly, she glanced off to the side to look around and noted that, through the destroyed walls her mother had been thrown through, the city was quiet. Unnerving quiet. Her brows furrowed, brain trying to put the pieces together, as she reached out with her senses to pick up someone left in the city. Nothing. No one. Just… the people who came to the battle to begin with.

How long has the battle been going on for?! Was it enough for all the tuffles to be evacuated that fast? She wasn’t going to protect the city if everyone was already gone! She turned back to Ise with fists clenched at her side. Zerori’s power remained at it’s level, ready for more of those punches she’d boldly decided to accept, but felt a cold sense of dread when she felt Zuqetta’s power suddenly drop. That’s dangerous! Ise wasn’t a threat to her now but what could she do if she set Ise off herself?! She couldn’t-

She couldn’t be everywhere at once. Heart pounding in her chest, Zerori decided right then and there that she had to be the one to make the hard decisions. She reached out, holding out her hand to Ise, “Come with me,” She beckoned, the sound almost inaudible by how her voice cracked with emotion. “Come with me and let’s figure this out. I won’t stay here any longer and the… the ‘victory’ can belong to the Saiyans, but I’m not going to put you and my Mom and Zuq at risk ANYMORE!”

From the side, Zriracha could be seen approaching, holding her side to try and ease the pain of her wounds with Virus. She stopped just beside Zerori and Zuqetta before turning to Ise with a saddened frown, “I came here with the intent to see my daughter’s desires through, but never did I expect that our paths would collide with such chaos. NOW!” She turned around, bringing her hands up to try and gently coax Zuqetta with her, “We’re done here, okay? I know y’wanna kick ass but Azoth is out and that means it’s over. They won so we need to GO.”

With one last glance to Ise, Zerori asked one last time, “Come with me?”

The fight had come to an end, and as Zuqetta felt the multiple powers in the distance begin to vanish, the realization of her failures were made even more apparent. Her own fight had been over even before Azoth's own swell and sudden drop in power; and once more, she had failed to live up to his expectations. She could save no one, not the Tuffles, not her friends; in fact, her actions had only proved to do the opposite of her intent. She had caused more harm than necessary, even causing Ise's unintentional strike upon Zerori. Thoughts of failure plagued her mind like a curse, the same thoughts she'd once had just a month prior, before her return from seclusion.

Zuqetta's spirit had broken as her resolve deflated; even as Zerori urged her to move, Zuqetta could only muster the strength to move about in a most sluggish manner. She questioned what the point of her being here, or anywhere for that matter, even was? People she cared for were hurt, the city she wanted to protect had otherwise fallen; and though Zerori showed no contempt towards Ise, even this could have just as easily been damaged had Zuqetta escalated her actions.

With a pained expression, Zuqetta would keep her gaze glued to the ground as she silently rose at Zerori's behest. There was no reason to stay any longer, and she held no will to fight any longer even if she did. Zuqetta would pull her hood on over her head to hide her face, and hopefully her shame; taking into the air limply to depart while Zerori made one last attempt to encourage Ise to join her.
