Griselda was actually just in Central City trying to enjoy some of the imported cuisines. Being central to the galactic trade Earth got with its spaceports most readily available, it made a lot of little diners pop up with all sorts of goodies. But like all good things, a certain head tenant has to rear its ugly head to make its will known. She hadn't even finished her space burger - A super strange experience of Earthling buns with off-world meat.

'Are you kidding me? Again? Didn't I do well against the bird?'
No. No, she did not do well. The insistence from the demon wasn't exactly negotiable either. It was like talking to a wall a lot of the time. Only eliciting an internal head growl from her other half, the youth would sigh and quickly start devouring what was left of her meal before packing up. This was going to be a long one.

The pair as one traveled a bit of the way out to get to a small arena and tournament of fighters. Held as many one-off events would. For how peacefully the Earthlings ruled amongst themselves, it was somewhat fascinating their affinity towards martial arts and the entertainment behind combat. It's almost a shame then that pretty much all of them were pretty weak. In the grand scheme of the universe. That was put on display here as the small woman pushed past some of the crowd to get a front-row attendance to a lot of these fights. Too late to enter, but just in time to watch.

'At least pay attention. Watch what they are doing and their form.'
It wouldn't really help her that much if she didn't get to participate. Those emerald eyes would eventually latch onto where most of the audience went though. A strange 'villain', reminiscent of a heel with the way he acted and played along. And while most of the Earthling crowd seemed to play off the dark abilities and strange techniques weren't as lost on the pair here. No, they could probably recognize such powers when they saw them.

'Infuriating.'
This was interesting and all, but it wasn't USUMIDORI up there playing along with the crowd. No, it was instead this other. poser. He couldn't even sense how strong he was. There wasn't much to be done without a challenge in broad daylight. Wouldn't that be something? Probably wreck the place too. But, alas, like a miracle in the wind the last contestant is defeated and the announcer calls upon the crowd to participate. The young swordswoman knew what she had to do.

With no one taking the place immediately, Griselda hopped up in place across Kamae. Much to the sudden surprise of the organizer. Griselda stood at a meager 4'6". A tiny woman in comparison to any other participant who had come up to the arena. Dress to boot as well. She didn't seem to carry a single weapon or strategy about her either. She just gave a smile and slight curtsy to them both with a bob of her skirt.

"Good day! I accept the challenge, if you'd have me."
A youthful voice, proper. Not an ounce of ill will behind those green eyes. Or a trace of her strength. Much like Kamae, her power signature was just purely untraceable. That'd be the current only red flag.

With the announcer first introducing her as a new challenger, Griselda smiled and straightened from her curtsy towards them. Promptly being as for a name after Kamae gave his. That name was interesting, for sure.

"It's Griselda. We'll see what you're all about too, sir!"
She seemed confident in that. Rolling her neck and stretched her arms out a bit as she was given first dibs on the battle. All while the announcer filled the void by introducing Gris by name as the mystery contender. If there was one thing these mortals did correct, it was to keep an audience. Even as her hand reach over her shoulder for seemingly no other reason other than grab air. Only... As she started pulling a handle seems to appear from a minor rip in space.

A long black blade, not much shorter than her in length as she flourishes the rest of the katana in a flourish. That would certainly get the crowd riled up as a second magic-y person revealed some proficiency in the arts. With a simple testing swing out in front of her, she'd point the thing half-guard at Kamae with her hands both on the handle and readied.

"Alright! Prepare yourself!"
She warned before crouching and hopping into place. Dashing from point to point on a trajectory towards Kamae. Nothing fancy just yet, just some fancy footing to keep her a nimble target on her nearing. To test? A simple precise swing across the chest. The long blade would extend her reach, but it seemed apparent this swordswoman was first testing him too. This would no doubt be easy to react to with how deliberate her approach was.

Gris's initial thoughts to test him were appropriate, as a sword of his own was pulled from that thick ki armor pulled its sword out of a similar nothingness. But it was not with this that he responded. The small woman launched her frontal assault with a swift strike, and instead a barrier would appear around him. A thin veil of energy, enough to stop the katana in its tracks.

"Huh?"
She grit her teeth and fought back against the sudden pushing force. Not that it helped in the end as she's sent a few steps back with her katana deflect to the side. Griselda took a moment to right herself back into her stance, katana held out firm once again. That punk didn't even move his hands to defend against her.

"Hardly.That's a nice trick though! Wanna see one of mine?"
She would have to play a bit hard and fast with some of her own taunting. It'd start with the tip of her sword and slowly start enveloping her form. This dark void that ate up her form and caused her to vanish rapidly in sight of the taller guy. With no presence to track, she was pretty impossible to track with her lifeforce. Perfect for reappearing behind her opponent and trying to deliver a similar strike into his back while turned. Appearing from the same shadwy void, rolling in reverse to put her back into the material.

"Hyah!"

Griselda's own blindsiding attack seemed to cut past his senses, at least this once, as her blade and body snuck in a perfect strike. A cash on the shoulder. The young woman bounced back from the blow with an initial sign of satisfaction after the fact before really looking past that aura. Trying to reasonably see what damage was really being done there. That's when it dropped a bit with some frowning.

"W-wha-... You just took it?
The crowd did seem to enjoy the two's quick clashes, a man very close to the ring hooping and hollering about the strike not even leaving a scratch on him. Not to get too distracted though, as she raised her blde to the coming strike. It was his turn to retaliate, and he had superior reach and mass. Now might be a good time to test how strong he was.

The answer? Very. Even holding the blade in one hand with her other bracing against the back of the blade, she found herself groaning and shoved back from the sweeping strike. Tiling beneath her forced to move aside just before she managed to stop right at the edge of the arena. To say that was close was an understatement, and she had to work a lot harder than he did to not just end up on her ass.

"Tch... Wow."
She let out a sigh, a few droplets of sweat building up on her face while she had to take the immediate time recuperating. If he could so casually throw this around, Griselda suddenly wasn't so sure she could just toss small stuff at him. Her last attempt might have been clever thinking, but didn't even make him flinch.
