While Hibernal may have been dispatched, there still remained one more than willing to take back the title he had relinquished in death.
Polarus Wintergreen, as of the past six months, had been out of commission- though the reasons behind such a sudden taking of the backseat were varying to say the least. At first it had been on Hibernal's own personal orders, as there were suddenly pockets of rebellion having been stirred within the cracks of his normally fortuitous empire by the ambitiously based mindset of Azoth Icespeak- a man whom the brute of brawn had personally addressed himself in a one on one confrontation. Considering the Arcosian's reputation and his quite intimidating stature, both Hibernal and Polarus believed their interaction to be the first and the last there will ever need to be.
To the two and their empire's dismay, this was certainly not the case. Whilst on one of his many long term military conquests in the name of the New Space Force Warriors amongst the outer reaches of the galaxy, Polarus had received an emergency distress call from headquarters, requesting his immediate presence back on the Arcosian homeworld.
Upon his arrival, his confusion only grew greater as he was immediately ordered under cryo-sleep once more- Polarus believing that perhaps there was merely further improvements to be made upon his genetic structure and that this would be but a quick and passing medical procedure. Instead, Polarus was sent into cryogenically induced slumber for more than six months, placed out of sight from prying eyes in a long since abandoned scientific installation located within the depths of the unassuming Bergs by remaining Hibernal loyalists for safekeeping as they sought out to piece back together the shambles of the empire that remained once the news was fully confirmed.
That Hibernal the Terrible had finally been slain, and the aforementioned Azoth Icespeak had ripped the throne from his cold, dead clutches.
In light of this news, Polarus was kept well-hidden from Azoth's forces, remaining in his artificially made slumber until orders to release him came from the only other remaining direct connection to Hibernal himself- his dearest daughter and Polarus' own little sister, Ise. While they had never been all too close, considering Polarus buried himself amidst the work of Hibernal's ever-active military, they were still siblings, with Polarus being a near perfect genetic copy of their deceased father making their familial bond even stronger.
However, there was also the simple fact that he had been created to improve upon what he had been based off of- he was meant to be the end all be all of Arcosian biological brutality, and thus he inherently held the potential to one day become even mightier than that of their former ruler.
And thus, one day, help to reclaim what the Wintergreen household had lost.
In light of all of these facts, Ise ordered those of whom that remained to guard Polarus to finally set him free, and after six long months, the ruler of ruination had been released upon the galaxy once more.
After being informed of what had occurred within the duration of the six months he had been MIA, Polarus was initially (and reasonably) incredibly irate, and wished to march into Kuriza City immediately to put the traitorous Azoth back in his rightful place, which now laid somewhere six feet below the crust of the planet they stood upon. However, once allowed to regain his composure, Polarus was all too aware that he by himself was much too weak to compete with the growth Azoth had exhibited within the last six months. If he was strong enough to defeat Hibernal before his six month absence, what of now?
So, instead, Polarus decided that to play the long game was the only path to victory at this point, but if he was the only player against Azoth and his forces, it would be to play a rigged game from the start. Thankfully, he was then told his sister Ise awaited his presence upon Planet Plant- a bit of a surprise as the two races never were on the best of terms at times, but if that is where she had decided to begin to plot their empire's resurgence, so be it.
Immediately taking one of the many pods that had been prepared for him in the days leading up to his reawakening, Polarus didn't take long in arriving to Plant, wanting to be punctual as always. It took even less time for him to locate Ise's exact position either, as she had seemingly sheltered herself within the confines of her personal ship, which his own pod had been calibrated to pinpoint the exact coordinates of once within a certain distance.
Wanting to avoid the trouble that came with a twelve foot Arcosian strolling through the capital of the Saiyan empire, Polarus bypassed most of the distance by simply flying over the bulk of the city, landing in an empty alleyway around a hundred yards or so off of where his pod said Ise was to be.
The ground nearly shaking under the weight of every step taken, Polarus lumbered mostly through the backstreets and alleyways of Sadala, still making a conscious effort to ensure his appearance would draw as little attention as possible. Thankfully, it appeared as though today was a much more busier day for the city, and so not many people were looking to lounge around the lesser traversed areas.
Eventually, Polarus had found what he was looking for, and in an open area that was hidden amongst several other buildings huddled around it sat little sister Ise's personal spaceship before him. Feeling a bit, sentimental, he sat there for a few moments, taking the view in- as though to make sure this wasn't just a dream and he was actually still within cryo-sleep.
Deep down Polarus did miss the only bit of family he had left, and he was somewhat hesitant, almost nervous, of how Ise would receive his return.
But, as a good soldier does, he continued forward despite the lingering doubts, and gently knocked upon the bottom door of the shuttle, saying in his naturally resonant yet at the same time uncharacteristically tender tone, "Ise, worry not, it is only I- Polarus. I came as soon as I was physically able. Are you alright?"
