Peaceful Picnic!

Zuqetta was curious as the man mentioned having a rough time of things; after all, it was something she had been able to relate to quite well considering how things had been for the past few months. Still, she wasn't about to pry on someone's personal business; she felt no need to relay her own life story, and didn't expect it from another. If the man was truly interested in sharing, then he would have been more than free to do so of his own accord. Instead, Zuqetta would simply return to her relaxed position against the tree as the man continued on; laughing as he seemed to stumble awkwardly at times over his words and display a degree of nervousness.

"Hehe, lucky you, gettin' ta be so tall!" Zuqetta would say with a grin before redirecting her attention to the state of Plant, "Yeah, new King for the Saiyans, new Chancellor for the Tuffes. If all of Plant could become this peaceful... heh, that'd be nice." She'd say softly, casually wondering if her dream of a peaceful Plant was finally on the horizon.

Zuqetta herself certainly wasn't the status quo when it came to the people of Plant, but she would say nothing on the matter. Though, by the way Dion spoke, Zuqetta began to wonder if he knew that he was in Tuffle territory and not Saiyan territory. He seemed to be enjoying himself, so she would keep that fact to herself; it would d have been disappointing if the conversation took a sour turn if he realized the truth after all. The Sadala Capitol had still been ablaze with violence and chaos when she had last left, but perhaps things had changed by now; it was a wishful hope, but with how peaceful the Tuffle City of Hatchi seemed to be, it was a hope that Zuqetta simply couldn't help but have.

The conversation had taken a turn however, and a somewhat uncomfortable one at that. Dion had moved away from speaking about the planet and had asked a question, a personal one, inquiring about Zuqetta's parents. Zuqetta would noticeably twitch at the question, with her tail frizzing up and unfurling from beneath her jacket; thinking about her parents had always placed her in a bad way, and it didn't seem to be something she would ever get over.

"Why does everyone...?" Zuqetta would mutter under her breath before quickly biting her lower lip to stop, "No it's... they're not here..." She would say softly as she tried to control her rage.

With a deep breath, Zuqetta would calm herself; curiosity was a normal thing, and she'd begun to realize the position of her youth from the time she spent on Earth. While it was still uncomfortable to talk about, she would indulge Dion in his curiosity; there was no harm in letting him know at least the partial truth of the situation. The more specific details would, of course, continue to remain under wraps however.

"Not so long story made even shorter? Don't have 'em." Zuqetta would state plainly as she stretch out her legs and gulped down the remainder of her lemonade, "Never met my Mom, so nuthin' ta say there. As for my Dad-" Zuqetta would hesitate as a look of frustration and anger came to her empty gaze, "Dead, end of story."

Zuqetta was quick to end that portion of the conversation; tearing into her package of crackers without even deigning the idea of asking Dion the same type of question. The talk of family didn't seem like it would ever be one she could enjoy; perhaps it was her fate for having been born a Saiyan of all things. Her time on Earth had made her realize how different and kind a family could be; but such things just weren't met for her, it was better to push the very notion of a family away entirely.

It was then however, that the anguish she felt would suddenly be broken; as at the tail end of the conversation, another would interject.

Zuqetta would nearly jump up as she heard the voice; eyes widening with disbelief at the individuals seemingly, completely random appearance. She was speechless as the individual introduced herself to Dion; it had felt like it had been so long since she'd last spoken to her. Worse yet, in all the chaos, Zuqetta had honestly felt that after all the time that had passed, she would never get to see her again. It may have been an unwarranted fear, but it was a real fear none the less, and one that harmed her more deeply than any physical wound could inflict. For when it came to that very same matter of 'family', a concept Zuqetta wanted nothing to do with; this was one of the very few people that made her entertain the idea, even if only by the tiniest margin.

"Zriracha..." Zuqetta would say quietly as she steadily rose to her feet; her eyes beginning to water as a tightness came to her chest, "Zriracha!!!!" Zuqetta would exclaim with Zriracha's introduction over; wasting no time in assaulting the demon without hesitation. Taking her into a firm embrace as she did her best to hold back the tears of joy; she wasn't about to cry in front of a stranger after all, "Zriracha, Zriracha, Zriracha!!!!!" She would continue, nuzzling her head into the demons chest as she hugged her ever more tightly.

The amount of joy Zuqetta felt was abundantly clear, though there was only one word she could get out at the moment as she tried to contain her flood of emotions. She wanted to ask question after question, and wanted to tell Zriracha about everything that had happened since they last saw each other so long ago. Besides that single word however, there was nothing Zuqetta could get out; the questions could have to wait for another time. All the same, it'd have been rude to have a personal conversation while a guest was present; for now, the extended hug would suffice to quell Zuqetta cacophony of emotions.

She’d have been a blind fool to not have expected some kind of welcome, even if she might have believed it to have been partially negative since she’d been just as absent in Zuqetta’s life as she’d been in Zerori’s recently. What she received, however, went beyond all of her expectations as she was suddenly (delightfully) assaulted with an obvious and emotionally distressed Zuqetta. With a soft ‘oof’, Zriracha had brought her arms around the young child that took no time at all to show her affection to the Satyr woman. Equally amused and elated, Zriracha cooed in surprise, “What’s all this then? My, my - I must admit I wasn’t expecting such a welcome, Zuqetta. What’s with all the tears, young one?” She rubbed her hands along the child’s back, trying her best to soothe the young girl before she looked back up to their shared acquaintance

Encouraged by their manners, Zriracha would tip her head back in a respectful acknowledgement of their introduction, “Well met, Dion of Haddock. While it is kind of you to offer us respite, I am not so inclined to force you out of the conversation. However, for just a moment-” She brought a finger up as if to ask Dion to wait.

Then, kneeling down to be more on Zuqetta’s level, Zriracha would wrap her arms properly around Zuqetta as she spoke softly to her, “I’m sorry to interrupt, little spark, but I could feel something was amiss. Are you well? Have you,” She hesitated for just a moment, looking Zuqetta over as if to check for any injuries the child might hide before finally finishing, “-taken care of yourself?”

The questions about her daughter and any explanation of her own eventful existence could wait. After the unexpected emotional reaction, even Zriracha wasn’t so foolish to not give Zuqetta the attention she needed.
