Iyre had been on a lot of planets in her time, but most of them didn't have green water. Water was mostly clear, or blue. Sometimes it was brown, and that meant you shouldn't drink it without the right tablets. Green water was one of the many aspects of the planet that had convinced her there was something special going on here. Her first experiences hadn't been all that hopeful, but even she couldn't deny that there was something about the place that felt ... mystical.
One of the locals had suggested that she might have more luck if she tried meditating. In fact, dozens of them had said that since her arrival here, and she'd been too embarrassed to admit that she didn't actually know what meditating meant. Everyone acted as though it were a totally normal thing that even the smallest child should be able to do effortlessly. She'd watched some of them do it, and it just looked like they were going to sleep. She did that all the time, and it never helped her grow in power.
Then she'd watched one of them do it under the waterfall, and she thought - hey, wait a moment. Maybe it's about trying to sleep when you can't? That made sense.
Which was how we came to find Iyre now, her armour neatly stripped and left to the side, wearing just her waterproof bodysuit, suspended in the middle of the waterfall with her eyes closed, her legs crossed, and her arms folded stubbornly across her chest.
The young Heran woman definitely made an impressive sight. There was just so much muscle on her. And thanks to her natural durability, there weren't any scars to mar all that blue flesh. Which was lucky, really. Given the number of wounds she had taken in her relatively short life, if she didn't have that to fall back on, she'd look like some kind of patchwork monster.
"THIS SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS!"
She had lasted all of ten minutes before throwing her head back and just screaming. Bright green power surged around her body as she forced the water back and away from her. It flew off her skin and hair as though she were a shaking dog, though she remained in her seated, frustrated position. The vein in her forehead pulsed furiously, and she tried to calm herself down. What the hell did these slugs get out of this?! Before she had been pissed off. Now she was pissed off and wet. It was NOT an improvement.
