CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE: As a Terran, Maxis looks like a fairly average Earthling. He is relatively lean yet muscular, stands at a solid six-foot, and bears a small number of faded scars against his pale complexion. A slightly crooked jutting nose is set beneath a pair of sharp coal-black eyes, the former of which bears a small scar across the bridge. His hair is relatively close-cut but remains as a shaggy brown mess which the boy seldom often combs or fixes up. Common choice of attire includes a non-sleeved black bodysuit, a loose green gi that bears no emblem, brown baggy pants, and coiled martial artist boosts with a simplistic black coloration.
BACKGROUND: Maxis was born upon a territory of Planet Terra to a woman who cared not for him. With a high battle power, he was sold as a potential soldier to a lawless group of pirates that roamed that particular sector of space. He was initially raised by said pirates and adopted their violent power-hungry ways, even going so far as to use his own higher strength to coerce or intimidate adults in the crew that were several times his age. Gefhar, Heran captain of the ship, took notice of his budding potential and decided to train him in the art of combat. Though he saw the boy's crude love for power as needing work. This philosophy was refined into one Gefhar held himself: the purpose of life was power, getting stronger, and pushing ones' limits. The strong should rule and the weak should be thankful that they were offered mercy.
He was molded from a pure sadist and power lustful warrior into one with an ideology. Maxis was enthralled with finding worthy opponents and growing stronger every possible second he could. If there was a Hero far greater than him? He was duty-bound by his ideals to surpass them. He can be blunt and confident enough to border on arrogance, but Maxis truly wishes for little more than a challenge. Though the lengths he could and will go to achieve such a thing are morally questionable at best. The part of playing the 'bad guy' was the easiest path to power in his mind. All sorts of great warriors would be FORCED to fight him at their best or they would risk the death of themselves or whatever they protected. It was in these battles that one truly saw true power.
It was under this doctrine that another child with great potential by the name of Blume first met with Maxis and Gefhar on a pass-by run of Earth. He was curious about the hybrid and even more so about the Earthlings. They looked so much like him and yet were weak. Complacent and docile! A strong desire was formed to attack the planet, but as Gefhar warned that he wasn't ready, Maxis begrudgingly heeded his surrogate father's advice. For years Maxis and Blume would train and be raised together. They had something of a loose sibling bond and friendly rivalry, with the girl's more open sadism not blending too harshly with his more low-key goals. Maxis had always been the stronger of the two since her arrival and he used that fact as a constant encouragement, wishing for Blume to become someone he could always look to for a good fight.
Since then the pirate crew had continued to wander the stars, stealing, assaulting, and all other sorts of misconduct. Yet with the crackdowns going about due to new planetary leadership and several strong Heroes in the system, it was only a matter of time before they were contested.
