CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
HEIGHT: 5' 5"
APPEARANCE -
BACKGROUND: Beware the wrath of the patient man.
Kore was like any other Shinjin born from the World Tree, save for his taciturn and subdued demeanor. The nature of the Gods was to observe. Preservation, intervention, and aid offered were to defy the natural course of things. Kore learned much in the ways of etiquette. Whereas others may use polite remarks and cordiality as a shroud, Kore wholly embraced it in stride as part of his duty. Tea making, flower tending, and passive examination were simple tasks. And while the green-hued Kai took much pleasure in perfecting the first two, his heart failed to steel itself wholly to compassion. Empathy for mortals had no place for a proper god, Kore knew this, and even so, he continued to watch on with a sullen heart.
His affinity for gardening and teamaking only grew, the Shinjin becoming an expert in both as the centuries passed. Alongside these passive skills, Kore also opted to train martially. While a faux pacifist by heart, his practiced arts emphasized defensive techniques over aggression, a valuable tool alongside a Shinjin's natural ability to heal others. While technically offered to hone the mind and pass the time, a small part of him hoped that he would one day use these skills in the real world, even if he actively denied such things to even himself.
Vibrant planets full of life and joy called to him, a guilty desire forming within him to experience similar things. Such things were repressed, shoved aside as a terrible secret. Kore continued his duties as a teacher, a custodian, a student, and a gardener. Much time had passed, and the continual deviance of one particular Shinjin, Fend, had caused him the most secondhand ire. Working as an assistant to a school at the time, the young Kai's flagrant and wanton disobedience alongside many of her pranks falling either directly into Kore's lap or alongside it caused Kore much internal grief.
At the same time, while outwardly calm, he almost seemed to enjoy it. Fend's behavior was different. It was new. It reminded him more of mortals than anything else, a weird attribute for a Shinjin. Even if the stores of teapots had been constantly filled with egg yolks, he appreciated the break of pace. Fend's sudden disappearance alongside the rapid rise of power in the mortal realms prompted a curious Shinjin populace to notice. While scouts had been sent in the past, they returned with little helpful information or mysteriously disappeared entirely. Kore was selected as the next candidate with years of experience in self-defense and being known as loyal to the cause. While accepting it as solemnly as any other duty, he was secretly ecstatic that such a chance was presented. While he had no intention of genuinely breaking the mission for the sake of mortals long-term, Kore may not be ready for what the world contains...
