It was a weird conundrum. Having a break from his work yet not truly grasping any actual choice or freedom. Yes, Gray was permitted to essentially wander the planet if he wanted... so long as he returned when commanded. He could not speak of his predicament, indict those who have done this to him, or generally find any release for the eternal servitude the bio-engineered human was bound to. At the very least this 'hot dog' food was very tasty. Wolfing it down away from the public eye the man was quick to adjust his civilian disguise once more, pulling up the mask to cover his mouth and non-existent nose.
Gray couldn't exactly go around in broad daylight in his usual assassin gear, so he scrounged together a set of coverings to use when not on the clock. A baggy gray sweatshirt, red ski goggles, a pull-up face mask, and bandaged hand wraps (gloves restricted movement too much). A pair of slightly washed-out jeans and hiking boots completed the fashionable outfit. It still drew a few stares but nothing like his regular attire would. It wasn't strictly necessary to cocoon himself in clothing but Gray felt most comfortable when sequestered away from prying eyes. Not even due to his line of work and more so that exposed skin made him feel vulnerable.
After finishing his impromptu snack Gray had wandered into a street storefront with the label of 'Central City Cuper Arcade!' scrawled atop it in bold flashing letters. Surprisingly he had a small cut from each hit... and considering the price and frequency of such endeavors, Gray was very much well off enough to buy whatever he wanted within reason (and permission). Surely spending pennies on a place filled with video games as distractions wouldn't be that big a deal. So he went, flitting from cabinet to cabinet until eventually landing upon a multiplayer shooter one.
Subsequent games were free for whoever scored top above the other players and AI, along with winning a large chunk of tickets. Shrugging Gray set to playing. And winning. Then winning some more. And more... and more.
