Ones Origin

Fire and destruction raged throughout the entire ship. People ran screaming, scurrying to the nearest exits. Life boats were filled beyond capacity, and some even chose to throw themselves overboard in their panic.

Surrounded by the screams and cries of the fleeing passengers, a single person walked against the grain. Where hundreds fled and ran for their lives, he went straight to the source of this nonsensical bloodshed.

"The second time..." Terryn hissed, stepping into the room. Rage-fueled eyes flickered around. Flames ate away at the carpets and drapes, furniture was torn to splinters and ash, and corpses laid strewn about. The sight was enough to traumatize anyone for life, and while he would usually be cowering in horror, all Terryn felt was rage.

"This is the second fucking time this port has been attacked by the likes of you...!"

His eyes landed on the brooding and hollow figure standing behind the microphone. He was behind it all; Terryn simply knew.

Terryn's fists trembled as he stepped further into the room. Why anyone would do something like this was beyond him. But he didn't care about motives. He cared for actions...And these actions? They were beyond reason. This was inhumane; Acts so vile that they deserved nothing less than a brutal punishment.

"Don't even try to reason with me."


Terryn warned the stranger with tears stinging in his eyes. A hateful glare glued itself to Crow as Terryn lowered himself into a fighting stance. Wisps of Ki faintly drifted from his body, it's heat a reminder of Terryn's seething anger. 

It was time to put his training to the test.

"You're fucking dead."

Hearing this murderer speak caused Terryn's teeth to grit so hard they nearly shattered. Did this guy think this was some sort of funny prank?! Dozens of people had already died because of this asshole, let alone the people Terryn didn't directly count. The Earthling's eyes were shot wide-open with rage. This guy was a hundred times worse than the Sound Demon.

"Are you fucking deaf?!" Terryn shouted in response to the man's rambling of 'divine justice'. He thought he was pretty clear that he had no intention of being reasoned with. "Do you actually think I give a single fuck as to why you're doing this...!?" He spat out with pure venom, glaring eyes following his erratic movements. A fight was going to break out- he was certain of it. And furious as he was, he had to stay on his toes.

The lunatic suddenly attacked Terryn with a barrage of punches. His opponent was quick, and Terryn struggled to bob and weave through the jabs, allowing some strikes to plow into his raised guard. 

Terryn ducked low as the kick came flying towards his face, instead slamming into his arm with a powerful shockwave. The blow stung like hell, but atleast he hadn't taken that strike directly to his head.

Glaring through his guard, Terryn saw the madman raise his palm toward the Earthling as dark energy began to collect near it. Terryn was no expert on Ki, but even he knew what this entailed. He quickly rolled to the side as the beam of energy came careening toward him, singing his clothes as he managed to dodge it by a hair's length.

"I don't need to learn SHIT!"

Terryn hissed through his teeth as he leapt from his current position, clearing the distance between him and Kowlin in the blink of an eye. The Earthling used all of this momentum to turn his body towards Kowlin as his left leg struck outwards. A swift side-kick, aimed straight at Kowlin's liver.

He immediately leapt back after rocketing out his blow. A hardened glare was glued onto Kowlin, one of pure, focused rage.

'In and out; Wear him down until you can use your finisher...You got this...!'

Terryn drew collected and focused breaths through his teeth, bouncing on the balls of his feet as he slowly circled this lunatic of an opponent. The Quickfire worked just how he had intended it to, and Terryn silently praised Fend's teachings. While it didn't do any lasting damage, it was never really Terryn's intent to do so. He had come up with the Quickfire for one single purpose: To weather his opponents down, and continually pummel one specific location.

Just a few more, and Terryn hoped to severely weaken that forearm.

While his thoughts were racing, trying to come up with a working strategy to defeat the mass-murderer, Kowlin spoke to him. His seemingly psychotic rambling threw Terryn off-balance, who momentarily dropped his guard in shock.

Hell? Ogres? What the fuck was this lunatic talking about?

"What the hell are you even talking about?!" Terryn spat back. He wasn't afraid of Terryn? Whatever, neither was he of him. "Y'know what, screw it. Doesn't matter. You need to be put down, psycho."

Brave as Terryn was though, his lack of experience could still prove his downfall. In the little fights he had, he was used to fighting people that were tactful and strategic. This guy was on a whole different level; Absolutely insane, and unpredictable.

And so, he had conceivable way to predict the immense wave of energy that tore straight towards him.

Terryn's eyes widened so far they nearly popped out of his skull. His body moved on pure survival instinct; An aura of condensed, raging flame was expelled from his body to clash with the incoming beam of dark Ki. While it softened the blow, Kowlin's energy tore straight through, and burned at Terryn's skin.

The Earthling let out a defiant and pained scream, eventually revealed after the energy wave dissipated into the distance. Spots on his skin were blackened, his clothes singed and torn, and his face bloodied.

"...My name...?" Terryn hissed weakly, slowly staggering to his feet. His weakened expression suddenly shot into a tight and focused glare as he rocketed forward, turning his body to strike Kowlin with a fierce, swift roundhouse kick to the face.

After his attack, Terryn spat out a glob of his own blood on the floor beside him, eyes narrowing onto Kowlin.

"Go fuck yourself."

Crap! He'd only just barely managed to block Terryn's kick, forcing him to back off and rethink his strategy for a moment. Terryn was completely out of breath, and needed a moment to collect his energy before he could start to push against Kowlin again.

He kept his posture compact and energetic, bouncing on the balls of his feet with a raised guard.

"Seriously, what are you talking about?! Who the fuck is 'we'?! There any more of you assholes?"

Terryn scoffed through his guard, his nose scrunching up at the mere thought. He wasn't sure whether he should believe a word coming from 'Crow's' mouth. The guy was obviously deranged beyond comprehension; Was he just chanting about his delusions?

"No thanks, bud. I'd rather use my strength to break your legs."

Crow raised an arm to the side, and Terryn immediately followed it with his eyes, spotting a cowering family of three hiding behind the remains of a dining table. Wait- what was he...!?

"NO!"

Terryn didn't need a single moment to think about his actions. Filled with an indescribable feeling of necessity, his power skyrocketed momentarily as he positioned himself between Crow's blast of energy and the family. With a violent yell, Terryn swatted away the blast of Ki with relative ease, and immediately felt his power drop down.

"You guys okay?!" Terryn turned to face the family, noting that Crow had escaped the room. He quickly helped the mother and father to their feet, and picked up their little daughter before handing her to the father.

With a sense of urgency, Terryn pointed toward the nearest exit; The same way he'd entered the ship from.

"Run that way! There's an emergency exit, and it's safe there! I'll try and hold him off, okay?" The family nodded to him, and Terryn quickly shoo'd them away for their own safety. "GO!"

Once the family had escaped, Terryn's rage-filled snarl returned as he glared over his shoulder. In silence, he ran after Crow, finding himself in a long hallway with doors at both sides. Terryn scoffed as he walked into the burning and battered hallway, beads of sweat trickling down his forehead from the overwhelming heat.

"Is he seriously going to play hide-and-go-fucking-seek with me...?!"

With a click of his tongue, Terryn cautiously began to check every single door; Slowly walking toward them before yanking them open with all of his might. That is, until he happened upon the door that Crow hid behind.

Terryn was immediately met with a choking cloud of fumes and water, the shock enough to render him completely defenseless from being whacked across the head. Terryn groaned in pain as he stumbled backwards, back slamming against the wall of the hallway.

He quickly rubbed the gunk from his eyes, shaking his head before locking eyes with Crow again. It had done little but infuriate the Earthling further, as he sunk back into his fighting stance.

"Too much of a pussy to fight me head-on, huh?"

Terryn immediately reacted to Crow's barrage of punches with the same ferocity, determined to cut the bullshit and skip straight to their battle; He hadn't felt this furious since Sesame, and it showed in his movements. 

The Earthling bobbed and weaved through most of Crow's strikes, all in thanks to Fend's training. Punches that did slip past his evasion were caught by Terryn's guard, and once Terryn spotted an opening, he retaliated with a quick jab.

"Skill? You hid in a corner and sprayed me with a fire hydrant! The fuck you talkin' skill?!"

Terryn spat as his opponent leapt backwards, gaining a considerable distance between them. He contemplated jumping after him, but Terryn immediately spotted two orbs of pitch-black begin to form within Crow's palms. This guy really loved tossing those around, didn't he?

He drew in a sharp breath as he wiped a streak of blood from his mouth, sending a defiant glare Crow's way. As the orbs of energy sailed toward him, Terryn charged forth, seemingly gunning it straight toward Crow's attack. Yet at the last possible second, Terryn dove forward, and the orbs whizzed past him from above.

"Just shut up, already!"

Terryn landed on both of his hands, and using the momentum of his front-dive, pushed his entire body upwards. His legs swung high and overhead as Terryn transitioned into a full handstand, swining his legs to the side and aiming to slam them straight into Crow's torso. After the strike, Terryn quickly kicked his legs behind himself and hopped back onto both feet, unable to hide his grin despite all the anger.

"You're having an awfully hard time fighting me for someone so 'experienced' and 'wise'. Really think I want your dumb-ass training? I've got the best teacher in the world, man."

Raising a loose guard, Terryn returned to his stance and bounced on the balls of his feet. He spat on the ground beside him, and gestured toward Crow.

"You gonna fight me now, or what? Trying to talk me to death? 'Cause it's definitely working."

Terryn's blow hit Crow like a freight train, and he watched the lunatic fly away before crashing into a wall at the other side of the hallway. The Earthling couldn't help but let a smile etch it's way onto his lips; That felt damn good.

As Crow laid there in his own crater within the wall, Terryn momentarily returned to a normal posture. Was that guy whispering? Terryn's brow furrowed when he heard Crow's voice ever-so-subtly. Had that single kick nearly knocked him out already? He really was a wuss.

Terryn began to walk his way toward Crow, both hands in his pockets. As things were progressing, Terryn barely felt intimidated or threatened by his presence; His sheer anger was enough of a motivator to remove any and all fear he felt.

Yet as Terryn grew closer, Crow's voice grew louder.

Until he eventually erupted into a fit of manic laughter.

"What the...!?" Terryn took a single step back, watching the deranged murderer nearly laugh his own lungs out. It was a sad and confusing display, and Terryn was left standing there to take it all in. Take in just how insane his opponent really was. This guy needed some serious help a long, long time ago. But now? It was too late. He was too dangerous.

"Kill you? I'm not lowering myself to your standards." Terryn admitted with a huff. "All I'm doing is making sure you're not gonna hurt anyone else. For a long, long time."

Why yes, Terryn would never have the guts to kill someone. But in dire times such as these? He wasn't averse to going to other great, desperate lengths. 

And so, he raised his foot and brought it down upon Crow, aiming to stomp him deeper into the wall and down toward the floorboards. Broken legs and ribs were a small price to pay for mass murder. If anything, Terryn was being quite forgiving.

"You want to know what it feels like? The awful shit you force upon others?!"

Another violent stomp. And another. And another...

Terryn would not stop.

There was a certain ruthlessness and barbarism to Terryn that almost seemed...Inhumane. Sure, Terryn had his fits as a rowdy kid, and got into the odd fight here and there with the other children, but that couldn't even describe the absolute bloodlust that coursed through his veins at this very moment.

Terryn was a gentle kid; Never wanted to hurt anyone. It takes a lot to push him to the brink...But when somebody does shove him over that moral edge? There is simply no telling what he'll do.

He let out a vicious cry as he brought his foot down one last time, only to have it crash through the floorboards of the ship's hallway. Hissing through his teeth, Terryn immediately glared over his shoulder, hateful eyes snapping towards Crow.

Was he lecturing him on the amount of evil in this universe? Terryn scoffed, an ominous grin tugging at his lips.

"Guess I had better get started by killing you, huh?"

But Terryn was ignorant to know just how powerless he was in the grand scheme of things. Unable to sense energy and unable to determine one's strength, Terryn remained blissfully ignorant towards Crow, who's power massively outclassed his own.

The Earthling spat on the ground and rolled his neck, still more than enough fight throbbing in his veins. If only he knew just how insignificant he really was, still.

Before he even knew it, Terryn heard the clouds rumble above him. The smile was wiped from his face as his eyes momentarily glanced above, only to see a swirling vortex within the clouds that hovered straight above him. The skies cried out to him, growing ever-louder.

"What the...?"

And as quick as it came, is how quick it went away. A bolt of red lightning came crashing down towards Terryn, at speeds so ludicrously fast he couldn't even begin to process them. In the split-second the Earthling had, his own power multiplied two-fold in the face of certain death, yet still, it was too late.

The lightning struck Terryn, who let out a pained and gut-wrenching scream of pain as his entire nervous system fried itself. Eyes rolled back into their sockets as his limbs and joints spasm'd and jolted uncontrollably, until the lightning faded.

In the wake of Crow's ultimate technique, Terryn stood weakly, his weary head dropping onto his shoulders, before he himself, dropped to the floor. A weak thud resounded through the cruise ship.

Terryn's fire had been quenched instantly.
