Choose Light, Medium, or Heavy Techniques. The first Standard Variant you take when creating that level of technique has its TP cost reduced by 1.
SALVAGE
You are able to purchase items in the XP shop at a 20% discount. The SMM contribution is adjusted for the new price as well.
ARMED AND READY
Your items that have a once per thread limit can be used an additional time. Does not apply to healing/restoration items or Super Items.
ANTISENSE
Your ki is invisible to energy sensing and scouters, even in the midst of combat - this can be toggled on and off. In addition, escape techniques have a boost of +20% to their total effectiveness and your first escape technique per thread costs no KP.
SELF-SACRIFICE
You may activate any one of your Standard Techniques using your life force. This will render it free of cost, but will instantly knock you out, or wound you in Action Threads. Can not be used on the same turn you would normally be knocked out from damage.

[PTab=Transformations] Escalation (x3): A pretty basic "transformation" as far as transformations go, the only visual indication is an orange aura that flares up any time Tarine expends energy. However extended use will fatigue him much faster than normal, and the strain of the form occasionally manifests as things like a heightened emotional state or a mild burning sensation throughout his body. ???: An unknown amount of time after the beginning of the Saiyan-Tuffle conflict, in an attempt to stave off the looming possibility of extinction, a desperate Tuffle scientist engineers a "parasite" capable of altering it's host's mental state and overwriting portions of their genetic code in order to create Tuffle hybrids willing to act in the species' best interests and serve as a failsafe in the event of complete extinction at the hands of the Saiyan invaders.
The escalating nature of the war results in the parasites never making it past the testing phase as the area the lab is located is rendered uninhabitable due to extensive use of destron technology. Before the area is evacuated, many of the living parasites are left behind in cryogenic storage units intended for later recovery. Many of these specimens perish over the years due to failures in their storage devices and contamination from destron gas leaking into the lab from the outside.
June 21st, Age 999: A human given the name Mel Tomago is born in Central City. No major complications arise and he is taken home by his parents.
???: Foolhardy scavengers venture into the Destron Crags and come across a small underground lab complex. They break in and loot the contents, which mostly includes aging technology in varying states of decay though a few functional devices remain that are taken, sold and passed around several black market dealers and collectors across the galaxy trying to discern their value.
June, Age 1021: Through a series of errors, a package containing a very outdated laboratory-grade cryogenic storage device of Tuffle design is delivered to the apartment of one Mel Tomago. Mistaking it for another delivery, it is taken inside. Oblivious to the nature of the device, Mel accidentally triggers the thawing process, reviving its contents. SOLO GOES HERE

Attack Techniques
{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Light Offensive || Cheap Shot
An efficient, but very basic projectile.
Power: 20%
KP Cost: 1 KP
Light Offensive || Trick Shot
Visually identical to an average ki blast except it’s capable of bouncing off of multiple surfaces until hitting its intended target (or someone intercepting the attack for them).
Power: 30%
KP Cost: 2 KP
Variants: Homing
Medium Offensive || Outburst/You- you!
In a display of raw, unfiltered, aggression, Tarine lunges forward and attempts to drive a fist wreathed in energy into his opponent, his aura also begins to manifest so aggressively that jagged shards of ki will attempt to dig deep into the opponent, drawing blood if possible.

Support Techniques
{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Solar Flare: Tarine forms a small orb of light by channelling ki into his middle and index fingers. If released, it drifts for a few seconds before it bursts and releases a blinding flash of light.. This allows you to attempt to escape any thread or travel between splits in an Action Thread more safely. This technique valued at 60% of your total power and requires 2 KP to use. In order to stop you, a player must use an attack that is superior in power to your Solar Flare. You cannot undo your escape via Solar Flare if you are successful, but you can use KP to defend if it is overcome.
Sparking Techniques
{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Sparking Heavy Attack || ████████
Under certain circumstances, almost certainly out of extreme anger, Tarine will willingly attempt to burn through as much energy as possible to carry out a surprisingly strong melee assault. However it’s carried out, the sheer force behind the blows has the potential to cause serious internal injuries. Due to how fast energy is being spent, during the assault he is surrounded by a potent aura. In some cases (more likely at higher PL's) this aura becomes hot enough that it may leave minor burns when he lands a hit.
Though whether or not the target is put out of commission, due to pouring most of his energy into the technique, he’s almost guaranteed to be exhausted afterwards, leaving himself open to retaliation.
Power: 110%
KP/MP Cost: 6 KP/5 MP

Utility Techniques
{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Ki Sensing
A technique that allows you to sense, measure, and differentiate the ki signatures of ki attacks and all living beings without the Anti-Sense trait. Higher ki signatures are easier to sense and can be sensed at greater distances than lower ones. This technique is passive and does not use KP.
Undercover
Due to a belief he might be working for the Tuffles in some capacity and a strong urge to hide some of the more inconsistent aspects of himself so they don’t cause problems when interacting with people Tarine forcibly suppressed some aspects of his ki so only the human part is felt with energy sensing.
Under most circumstances, unless using Antisense, the feeling of his ki is altered to suppress everything except the part that comes across as human to ki sensing techniques.
Power Lock
Under most circumstances Tarine has a good enough handle on his ki to control the output. Usually his energy is suppressed to match the average in the area, for safety reasons, to not draw attention and to save energy. Though it’s quickly abandoned when he feels threatened in any way.
Additionally when facing off against a Tuffle, he’s physically unable to summon up the desire to attack at full force and will try to lower his energy to be under theirs if possible. (Reflavoured Ki Suppression)
"Rocket Jump"
Accidentally discovered after being thrown off a roof by a certain insectoid monstrosity. Tarine can generate a small explosion of ki near his body with enough force to launch him off the ground, increasing jump height significantly, or change his trajectory mid-air.
In theory, some form of flight could be achieved by chaining blasts together, though it would be far less accurate than the real deal and carries a higher risk of injury from mistiming/misfiring the blasts.
Solar Firefly
Adapted from his own form of Solar Flare. Instead of detonating after a few seconds it instead functions as a light source. It usually hovers in place after being released, though can be slowly moved with concentration on Tarine’s part. It dispels automatically after a few minutes or on contact with something solid.
An alternative version exists where the light remains in his hand. This version is more like a torch and is easier to move but takes a free hand to use. It also lacks the time limit and could exist indefinitely provided it continues to be supplied with energy.
Enhanced Ki Sense
Alongside being able to sense an individual's ki signature, Tarine is also able to pick up on the "tells" that set species apart from one another, meaning he can figure out someone's species based on energy signature alone.
The only species he is able to recognise with a high degree of accuracy are Tuffles, others fall under a "probably", meaning he can't tell for certain what they are but could take a reasonable guess. This does include if they are likely to be a hybrid, though in those cases he has a harder time picking out the individual species, even more so if more than two are involved.
He also has difficulty with Oni, Shinjin and other magically inclined individuals, usually their ki being some flavour of weird instead of anything readable for him.
This ability does not bypass Antisense or any forms of disguising one's ki signature. Due to the ability's nature of providing knowledge that may not be readily available it requires OOC consent to activate.
Tranquil Eye of the Sage Unbound/A rock, maybe a ruby? It looks cool.
NOTE: This is a part of the reflavouring of Tarine's Blood Ruby.
A gem with unusual properties displaced by the destruction of the structure of the Lookout, at one point in time it was rumoured to be owned by a powerful seer of an age long gone- but to its current owner, a fancy paperweight that somehow makes the world a little less frustrating to deal with.
It's a roughly-cut gemstone of a dull reddish-pink hue that sits comfortably in the palm of an adult's hand. There is a deep crack running through one of the sides, the area surrounding this fissure is stained an inky black colour. Occasionally it seems to glow with a multitude of different colours, though Tarine dismisses it as a trick of the light.
Its true potential lies in its ability to absorb and store the "negative" energies permeating its surroundings, whether that be emotions in the vein of anger, fear, sadness and the like, or to a lesser extent, demonic or emotionally charged magics. On people, this has the potential to bestow a subtle calming effect that would make them less inclined to act out should they be involved in an emotionally-charged situation. This effect is more potent when people are closer to the stone and can also be dampened by covering it up with a solid object or submerging it in liquid. It's effects may also be unnoticeable on a person experiencing stronger versions of the above emotions.
This effect requires OOC consent to affect other characters in a thread where the item is present.
In regards to the listed magics, the item has a very weak dampening ability on the effects that may be completely ignored if the affected parties wish it to be.
Unintended Consequences/It's just a rock?
NOTE: This is the second part of Tarine's Blood Ruby reflavour.
The gemstone Tarine picked up might have a darker history than he thought... well, despite the part where someone had recently destroyed a fascinating part of Earth's history in the same area he picked it up. Whether it was through some ancient spell corrupting the artefact or a side-effect of it attempting to absorb some of the demonic energy that ripped the Lookout to pieces, it broke.
…Not completely, it still possesses the ability to project a calming effect on those who allow it to but it's capacity to contain the negative emotions and energies it comes across is diminished... and when it becomes full it has the unfortunate tendency to "overload", either letting off relatively harmless sparks or pouring that energy back into the nearest receptacle, who usually happens to be a certain red-haired pseudo-Tuffle. It isn't certain this has an effect on his current emotional state, though it does mean his next barrage of attacks might be enhanced with a shot of magically charged and possibly dangerously unstable energy...
Having unknowingly been given access to such a potent magical source also gives Tarine the potential to learn techniques with a more... supernatural spin to them, though none have been discovered at this time.
Of course magic isn't real so all of this is just harmless speculation right?

Ironically for a mind that has long since fallen prey to this method of attack, Tarine, or Mel depending on who's asking, is exceptionally good at identifying, and if it comes to it, resisting anything attempting to exert an influence over his psyche. If another individual attempts to invade his mind by any means, while not inherently able to identify the source, he will usually be able to recognise the presence as not belonging to him, which allows him to react and attempt to resist the attempted intrusion much faster than the average person.
Hyperkiemia
Small amounts of Tarine’s ki steadily leak into his bloodstream, over time this infusion has boosted his blood’s oxygen carrying abilities above what his hybridised biology should allow. This grants him a number of physical benefits like being able to persist for longer in low-oxygen environments and temporarily delaying the more debilitating effects of blood loss as the ki-infused mix compensates for what’s missing.
