Monsters (Virus)

There they stood, two Demonic titans staring one-another down. Both mesmerized by the other's abilities, and willing to push themselves to whatever lengths to defeat the other. It was the exact type of battle Virus longed to participate in. Hunger fueled his hunts, for a predator such as him needed to eat. But his real purpose for existing? It was this.

Battle.

"What's wrong?! Why the hesitation...?" Virus called out to his opponent teasingly, cackling through the maddening pain he felt. His opponent was hesitating to engage Virus, even though he was clearly struggling and on his last legs. Could it be that the Demon was running out of energy?

Virus silently chuckled to himself; This was his time to strike back.

"KHAAAAAAA!!-"

The beast let out a loud and sudden roar, shaking the very foundation of the jungle they fought on. A furious, corrupted aura of purple engulfed Virus as it roared to life, searing itself into the very ground.

His vicious Ki began to coalesce around his arms as Virus extended them outward, energy crackling from his palms.

"Did you think that was the extent of my power?!"

Virus couldn't even hear the sound of his own voice anymore, let alone the vicious wails of his Ki sizzling into their surroundings. Bringing his hands forward, Virus aimed at his Demonic opponent before unleashing all of his power into a vicious wave of energy!

With a feral roar, Virus unleashed the Plague Flash upon Sesame with destructive and killer intent. The gigantic wave of roaring Ki tore through their surroundings, eroding trees and grass until they were reduced to nothing but ash and dust.

The wave of energy traveled for miles, carving a great and powerful line throughout the entire Kaiju Jungle. Sizzling craters remained in the wake of Virus' attack. The Biodroid fell to a knee, panting out loud and airy breaths.

That single attack drained him of his entire energy reserves; It was going to take considerable time for him to regain his stamina...

Sesame

...In the end, Virus was foolish.

Overcome with excitement and intoxicated by the intensity of their battle, Virus threw caution to the wind and unleashed everything he had in that one, single attack. The thought that Sesame was hiding tricks of himself hadn't even crossed the Bio-weapon's mind. It simply...Happened.

Virus felt the Demon's pressure overpower the might of his Plague Flash, splitting apart the moment it impacted Sesame's Ki. Most of the Kaiju Jungle was torn to ash behind Sesame, yet the Demon stood tall above it all.

Even though Virus had no way to tell just how much more powerful Sesame was than him, he could feel the pressure of his aura. It was the greatest thing Virus ever felt.

"KHAAAAAHAHAHA!!" The beast cackled madly as the full brunt of Sesame's soundwave crashed into him. Despite being unable to hear, the resonance of the Demon's might still found it's way into his ears somehow. Blown into a nearby cliff-face that spontaneously exploded upon impact, Virus felt like his insides were melting.

With the mountain's remains raining down upon him, Virus laid in the crater left by Sesame's immense and overpowering strength. Blood oozed from the Bio-weapon's gaping wounds. Limbs had been torn off by the joints, leaving the predator without arms. His entire chest was torn open, revealing the bloodied organs inside. That single attack left him on the brink of death.

He smiled hollowly, and let out a grim fit of barely-audible laughter.

Sesame hovered above him, speaking in a way that Virus could only assume was arrogance. Virus' maw opened weakly, stretching into a faint grin as he let out a hollow breath. "...Did you f-forget that I cannot...Hear a s-single thing you're s-saying...?!" He laughed out in response, slowly regaining power over his voice.

Virus' rapid regenerative skills were already clocked into overdrive. Both his Arcosian and Namekian genes had kept him alive in that moment, and were working to repair the damage by any means.

New flesh began to form out of the hollow and bleeding stumps sticking out from Virus' elbows. A light layer of new flesh and muscle was also beginning to form slowly to seal the gaping wound in his chest.

"I must...Thank you. This has been...Quite the battle, has it not...?"

Virus slowly climbed to his feet, fleshy fingers digging into the soil as a soft layer or armor began to form around them. The creature was dazed and weak; Despite healing a considerable amount of the damage he had just taken, Virus knew he was still on his last legs.

He had never felt so excited in his entire existence.

"Now...Let us bring it to a worthy climax...!"

Virus balled his right claw into a tight fist before he let out a shrill and powerful cry. The very last remnants of Virus' Ki were forced to awaken right then and there, exploding from the Bio-Weapon's body into a furious, yet weakened aura.

He dashed toward Sesame with reckless abandon, completely fearless in the face of certain death. Virus tossed out numerous quick strikes to try and oppress the Demon before stepping in closer with a quick low kick to Sesame's ankle.

Sesame

Virus continued to advance relentlessly into Sesame's defenses, assaulting the Demon with blow after blow. No matter how easily Sesame deflected and guarded against Virus' strikes, the predator couldn't allow his opponent a single moment of respite. If he relented for even a fraction of a second, it'd leave enough of an opening for Sesame to end their battle right then and there.

Uttering a shrill yell, Virus lashed out with a low kick. He'd seemingly underestimated the Demon's reflexes once again, as Sesame simply leapt skyward and avoided the kick completely. Virus' sights darted up, growling in frustration. Not being able to sense Sesame's energy output was forcing him into making callous decisions...!

As quickly as the Demon sprung up, he came hurtling back down like a missile, stomping onto Virus' armored neck with both feet. The weight of Sesame's attack sent Virus crashing down with a shrill scream. Immediately, the predator pushed his hands against the ground.

Arms trembled violently as the ground beneath him quaked and ruptured, resulting in a large crater with Virus at it's center.

"K-K-k-khh...!!"

And yet still, the Predator refused to go down. He felt the armor that covered the nape of his neck shatter and rupture under Sesame's weight. Virus' mind raced in an intense panic; He had to act fast, or this single attack would spell his certain defeat.

Desperately, Virus raised a single fist that coated itself into a thick layer of Ki. He slammed his fist into the ground below, causing the Ki that was building in the space in his fist to erupt and amplify. The noise it created was nothing less of a flashbang, the resulting shockwave enough to rupture their destroyed surroundings even further.

He had seen Sesame use his sound-based attacks one too many times, making it an easy feat for Virus to copy the technique. It might've been his only shot at escaping his demise, if even for a moment.

Virus knew he wouldn't be able to defeat Sesame. But he'd fight until his body wouldn't allow him to fight any longer. He had so much more to learn from this battle, he could evolve so much more!

This couldn't end yet...!

Sesame

After the blast ebbed away, Virus felt a great weight lighting off of his neck. The beast immediately sucked in a huge breath of air, widened eyes snapping upward as his mind was beginning to catch onto what happened.

Alerted that Sesame might've launched some sort of counter-attack, the Bio-Weapon immediately glared over his shoulder before spinning to face Sesame with claws dug into the ground.

With gritted teeth Virus looked ahead. He wanted to continue this battle so badly that it nearly hurt him more than the physical pain he felt. Yet every time he tried to force his body to stand, he fell to a knee.

Virus retched, vomiting up a large amount of blood that splattered out onto the ground below him, sinking into the smoldering soil beneath. His exoskeleton was close to shattering all the way, and Virus knew he was close to losing consciousness.

"Khaaah...!!"

Slowly, Virus began to rise to his feet, glaring towards Sesame in a conflicted yet defiant manner. It was in that moment that the Bio-Weapon began to weigh his options. Was it really worth the risk of death to continue this battle? Sesame had proven several times that he was in a completely different league than Virus. In the future, he would certainly prove to be a better opponent...But now?

"V-very well, then...You win, D-demon."

Virus' stance faltered as his back arched heavily. The Bio-Weapon rasped and wheezed heavily, coughing up a staggering amount of blood with every foul retch of his throat. Slowly, Virus' wings escaped from his back, beating weakly in the wind.

"...Know that we will m-meet again...I'm far from finished with you...!"

A final, defiant and hate-fueled grin flashed it's way toward Sesame before the Biodroid took to the skies. Carried by the weight of his wings and the wind itself, Virus escaped over the horizon and faded into the tall treetops of the distant Kaiju Jungle, and beyond.

He could feel his calm and collected facade begin to crumble and fade. This was the first defeat that Virus had suffered, and he was unable to accept it. A burning desire to seek out the Sound Demon again scorched his very mind.

Virus would never forget- never relent, until he'd defeat Sesame.
