It was late at night in Central City, Flubba was moving through the sewers in an area that isn't as active at night. Being seen is something that he didn't want to risk. Over the light sloshing as he swam he could hear a scream coming from the surface not too far away. In a dimly lit alley a scrawny man in his late 40's was being mugged at gun point by a masked man. Flubba watched quietly from a sewer grate completely out of sight but nearby.
"Didn't you hear me old man? I said give ME ALL YOUR MONEY!" the mugger demanded cocking his small firearm. The click made the victim wince in fear, Flubba had a sense a familiarity to this. Then he would remember his simulations of being attacked and shot at. His eyes darting from the mugger and his gun to the frightened old man, Flubba wanted to keep him from feeling what he had felt months ago. Quickly Flubba began to ooze out of the sewer grate slithering over to the back of the mugger before forming into his bipedal state.
The mugger noticed a transparent shadow growing over both him and his victim, it had a reddish tint. The mugger swiveled around being face to stomach with Flubba. All the color in his face had vanished as he met the gaze of the monster in front of him, the mugger screamed firing as many rounds as he could into slimy body of Flubba. There was a bang and a moment later the man's body was smashed against the alley wall limp and his neck broken. Flubba looked at the gun its barrel still smoking, and a bullet still spinning within his gelatinous body. With a swift stomp the gun was destroyed but behind him he could hear quick footsteps. The older man was running out of the alley screaming for help. As he made his way out of the alley he looked back to the monster with fear, snot and tears running down his face. He bolted down the street faster than he ever ran in his life out of the sight line of Flubba.
This action confused Flubba at first, he thought he had saved the man from a fate he had once. Slowly he took his eyes off the exit of the alley and to his hands. He didn't wake up this time and he was feeling a pit form where his stomach would be. Flubba would remain this way for a few minutes just trying to process all that had happened, if what he did was right or wrong.
