GENERAL INFORMATION
NAME: E.S.M 2.07 - Tarine
ALIASES: Tarine , “Mel” Tomago
AGE: Age of body is 22, parasite created some time in the Saiyan-Tuffle war before the Destron Crags were created.
GENDER: Taking after it's host the parasite now identifies as Male
SPECIES: Human/Tuffle Hybrid (Complicated, converted into a Tuffle via a Tuffle parasite, mechanically Tuffle dominant. Parasite technically isn't a true Tuffle despite its genes but can't separate from a host when conversion is complete, so the character being played is the created hybrid.)
ARMED AND READY
Your items that have a once per thread limit can be used an additional time. Does not apply to healing/restoration items or Super Items.
SALVAGE
You are able to purchase items in the XP shop at a 20% discount.
STRATEGIST
Choose Light, Medium, or Heavy Techniques. The first Standard Variant you take when creating that level of technique has its TP cost reduced by 1.
GENERAL TRAITS:
ANTISENSE
Your ki is invisible to energy sensing and scouters, even in the midst of combat - this can be toggled on and off. In addition, escape techniques have a boost of +20% to their total effectiveness and your first escape technique per thread costs no KP.
SELF-SACRIFICE
You may activate any one of your Standard Techniques using your life force. This will render it free of cost, but will instantly knock you out, or wound you in Action Threads. Can not be used on the same turn you would normally be knocked out from damage.
STARTING PLANET: Earth
HOME REGION: Rocky North
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE: Basic appearance in avatar. 5’7”, orange eyes were an unintentional side effect of the parasite's conversion but otherwise appears normal. Ki/Aura likely pink or orange, will likely alternate depending on the form being used.
The parasite did have a body previously but merges with the host to complete the hybridisation process, originally it would have looked almost like a tick with a large back section but the head/eyes would have been a vibrant orange. Exoskeleton and eye colours seemed to be inherited from the DNA it uses to convert people into Tuffles so would have varied between individual parasites from this project.
BACKGROUND:
Born from the mind of a great yet paranoid Tuffle scientist during the earlier stages of the Saiyan-Tuffle conflict, E.S.M was to be a failsafe in the event the Tuffles were pushed to near-extinction by the Saiyan invaders that would restore the Tuffle’s numbers back to safe levels. While this doesn’t sound bad on the surface, to restore those numbers E.S.M was a type of parasite designed to convert compatible species into hybrid Tuffles. Though since Saiyans were almost guaranteed to be the surviving species in this future, even if they could be forced to become like the Tuffles genetically, their culture was considered incompatible for what this scientist wanted the future of the Tuffles to be.
This resulted in the parasites being altered further, now having more active control over the host and their mind. Mostly this involved implanting traits, knowledge and behaviours they believed could benefit a future potential society, but also some knowledge on ki manipulation to assure they had some way to defend themselves if not enough parasites existed to convert all the remaining Saiyans.
Despite not technically being worked on by the military it was endorsed via the use of Sayian prisoners being sent to test the effectiveness of the parasites and the proposal of some of them being repurposed for use in the present to change Saiyans into loyal agents for the Tuffles. Fortunately (or unfortunately) this branch of development was halted before too long when the use of Destron risked making the area the lab was located uninhabitable.
With the assurances that this would only be temporary the area was evacuated and sealed while most of the living parasites were frozen and stored on-site. Though as Destron proved to be more destructive and tended to linger for much longer than originally thought and the government later not wanting to risk knowledge of some of the less-ethical projects getting out, the place was forced to stay abandoned.
Many years later however, due to the efforts of some particularly stubborn scavengers the lab doors were reopened and anything of note taken to be sold off. Most of the technology had been rendered useless by time and the lingering gasses but at least one parasite made it out, still safely stored inside it’s unit where it was then bounced around few merchants before accidentally being delivered to a human.
This person’s curiosity with the device inadvertently led to the parasite being released from its containment where as soon as it was able immediately went forward with its original goal of converting the nearest person into a Tuffle, which was this same human.
Now with control over a body it became aware that the planet it not in-fact Plant but somewhere where it had very little control over its goal of keeping the Tuffles alive. However in the parasites mind the limited information on the military it had been given implied it could have been sent here to provide other ways to assist. Without more solid leads though the parasite would be forced to blend in with Earth society until contact could be made with someone with the authority to grant further directives or other opportunities to help the Tuffle side of the conflict.

Light Offensive || Cheap ShotADDITIONAL NOTES: Please could his x2 transformation be renamed to "Escalation"
An efficient, but very basic projectile.
Power: 20%
KP Cost: 1 KP
Variants:
Light Offensive || Trick Shot
A specialised projectile capable of bouncing off of other surfaces until hitting its intended target.
Power: 30%
KP Cost: 2 KP
Variants: Homing
Light Defensive || Survival Training
Tarine was implanted with knowledge on techniques and positions that can help minimise the damage taken in an attack or more general disaster.
Power: 40%
KP Cost: 2 KP
Variants:
Heavy Sparking Offensive || ████████
Under extreme circumstances Tarine can forcibly burn up huge amounts of energy to unleash an extremely powerful blow or series of blows. If the force of the attack itself isn’t enough to cause internal damage then the concentration of the energy used also has the potential to leave burns on contact. Though using that much energy in such a short timeframe leaves him drained and very open to a counterattack.
Power: 110%
KP Cost: 6 KP
Variants: Bleed, Bleed+
Solar Flare: You release a blinding flash of light, replicating the sun's rays. This allows you to attempt to escape any thread or travel between splits in an Action Thread more safely. This technique is valued at 60% of your total power and requires 2 KP to use. In order to stop you, a player must use an attack that is superior in power to your Solar Flare. You cannot undo your escape via Solar Flare if you are successful, but you can use KP to defend if it is overcome.
Utility Technique || Undercover
Due to the possibility that he might be an undercover agent working on the behalf of the Tuffles, when not using Anti-Sense, Tarine’s energy signature will be disguised to appear fully Human.
Utility Technique || Ki Sensing
A technique that allows you to sense, measure, and differentiate the ki signatures of ki attacks and all living beings without the Anti-Sense trait. Higher ki signatures are easier to sense and can be sensed at greater distances than lower ones. This technique is passive and does not use KP.
Utility Technique || Power Lock
Outside of combat situations Tarine’s ki will automatically be suppressed to a level considered “safe” based off of the environment and the power levels of people nearby. Additionally he is physically incapable of using his full power if forced to fight against a Tuffle. (Re-flavoured Ki Suppression)
