Tower Troubles [Invite | Fend]

    Korin Tower had been Fend's home away from home for a short while now. The rebellious Shinjin had managed to tidy up the once desolate and dirty tower, steadily restoring it to something more presentable.

    Her fight with Azoth had been... a few weeks ago? She wasn't sure how much time had exactly passed by now. But her match in the Budokai with the soon-to-be Emperor was bar none the toughest she had. It was a close match that was plenty of fun, but she would have preferred to come out more intact. It would be easier to head to a hospital to treat her broken ribs, bruises and gashes, but... Fend sighed, running a hand down her mask. That would mean likely giving away her identity as a Shinjin.

    So, Fend had cooped herself up in this isolated tower to treat herself since then. Her healing abilities were much less effective when used on herself, but a mixture of her own magic and amateur medical knowledge had began to bring her back to fighting shape.

    Today would be her last day of rest before returning to the world below. The bandaged Shinjin was propped up beside the railing of the tower and doing some stretches, wearing only her sleeveless gi and baggy sweatpants, and in a rare instance, not wearing her mask. There was no need to when she wasn't going to be getting any visitors up here...

    ...And then, there was a voice.

    Fend jolted, quickly lowering her feline-esque mask back onto her face, whipping around to see a... well, she was pretty sure that was a human, even with how exhausted and half-dead he looked.

    "Uhhh..." Fend found herself feeling baffed and uncertain in response to the human's questions. Her mask certainly was catlike, but she hadn't seen anything of this alleged god-like being named Korin the tower was named after. It had been abandoned for a long time before she'd found it, seemingly, so they were probably super duper dead. Fend wasn't sure how people would take hearing that their god was either dead or abandoned them. She was very glad she was wearing her mask now, lest Terryn see the nervous beads of sweat beneath.

    But... Fend felt really bad about just saying that aloud. Had this man climbed the entire tower? In the middle of one of the hottest summer days? Were this Korin person still alive, surely they would be impressed. "...Mmnnnope. Korin's on vacation, dude." Just a very, very long vacation.

    Continuing to improvise with whatever first popped into her head, Fend cleared her throat and continued. "He's out getting some more Sacred Water, buuuut he did put me in charge of watching this place 'till he gets back. I'm, uh, a student of his." Fend managed to put on a confident smile, but beneath that bravado her conscious was screaming. She was pretending to be the pupil of some divine being to not dash this poor human's hopes, was she insane?!

    "...But, you're uh... Are you sure you're not dying right now?" Fend chimed in both genuine concern, and to shift the topic off herself before she was asked any questions she couldn't answer, half-expecting her guest to just collapse at any moment now. "I'unno about cholera water, but I got some Valley Dew and Hetap inside. I only give autographs to folks who aren't dying of dehydration." 

Fend's Utility Technique, Ki Masquerade is in effect. This hides her Ki from feeling like that of a Shinjin!
