Terryn gripped the stone brickwork as he pulled himself even higher.
The wind rushed through his ears, surroundings filled with the piercing blue of the sky above. He must've been hundreds of feet above ground by now, still climbing that stupid, stupid tower.
"You're too lazy, Terryn...!" He huffed, mimicking his father's incessant complaining. His fingers twitched as he pulled himself even higher, the top slowly coming into view through the clouds above. "Cant believe...I'm doing this...Shit!" Terryn groaned, sweat dripping down his forehead. Oh, the joys of not being able to fly. This'd be done in a jiffy if he knew how to. Life was cruel like that; Maybe that was the lesson his father was trying to teach him?
...Nah.
This was just senselessly stupid.
After a few moments more, the agonizing climb finally seemed to reach it's conclusion. With a loud grunt, Terryn swung his arm high. His hand clasped over the tower's edge, finally feeling a different sensation of surface for the first time in what felt like an eternity.
His second hand emerged to grip the edge in the same vein, fingers pulling the Earthling up until his head poked out from below; It probably looked pretty stupid for anyone watching. Who would actually hang out up here, though? Surely that was just some stupid rumour.
Terryn's eyes slowly glossed over the tower's lookout.
That was definitely a person.
"Are you that Korin cat-person-thing everyone keeps telling me about...? I didn't accidentally climb the wrong absurdly large tower in the middle of nowhere?" Terryn asked with an astounding lack of subtlety. He pulled himself upwards, legs swinging over the edge until he rolled onto the watch-post like a fish flopping out of water.
"I'm gonna need, like, an autograph or something. Can we take a selfie? Oh, and what's that thing about you feeding me some sort of holy water that definitely isn't dirty old tap water and definitely won't give me Cholera?"
Terryn sounded like he had just escaped from an insane asylum. Looked the part, too. Climbing for several thousands of feet does that to a person. Poor guy was probably suffering from heat stroke at this point.
