He was so lost in emotion that the only thing that kept his sanity was the picture he had. He felt a touch on his knee and it was hazel who had asked if he was okay. He nodded and spoke in a soft tone.
“Yea I’m fine. Nothing serious.”
His eyelids were on the heavy side. After he heard another voice, it coming from Derry. He placed the finished leg into the fire while he spoke.
“There are no villages nearby. The only villages that you will find are occupied by the Saiyan military or mercenaries. Those aren’t exactly villages more so outpost that have tents for soldiers to sleep in. The only real city you will find here is Hatchi City that the tuffles control and Capital Sadala that the saiyans own.
Both sides aren’t allowed to enter except for distinct clothing that the military wears or the common mercenary. But even then, mercenaries have to prove their service status through our Data pad. Without it, you will be watched or even harassed by the soldiers. One person against an entire army isn’t exactly a good thing to do.”
He simply sighed afterwards. Using his ki sensing abilities to detect any power signatures nearby. North was where the closest outpost was located at.
“There is an outpost just North from here. We can head over there and see if I recognize anybody from over there that may be willing to aid us.”
As he headed North, he noticed one of the soldiers who was a fairly young lad. To much of his surprise, the thirty year old was one of Yangcong’s students that he had yelled at during his days at the academy teaching the youth mind about the war effort. Aside from being a teacher, he also served as a drill instructor.
The soldier went rushing towards Yangcong and easily had recognize him due to his familiar ki signature.
“Yangcong! Drill Sargent sir!”
Yangcong chuckled and saluted back to him to show him some respect as well.
“I haven’t been called that in ages. I see that skinny Carrot actually made it out alive huh?”
He nodded with joy.
“That’s right sir.”
Yangcong had looked to his teammates and back at Carrot.
“These are my two friends, Hazel and Derry. We need some shelter for the night.”
The soldier nodded and allowed him in. Even though it was an outpost, it was still seen and treated as a village in some regards with the civilians who were really retired soldiers or injured soldiers, growing crops and performing other jobs. Still serving their duties even though they had gone through hell. About that time, the soldier took them to an Inn. Which were mainly for soldiers in service. The Inn worker had a missing left leg that was replace with a metal one and an eyepatch that covered his left eye. He looked to the soldier that brought the three of them inside.
“Ah Carrot!” With a somewhat drunk like demeanor with a blush of red on his cheek.
“Whatcha need friend?”
Carrot looked to the Inn worker as he shook his head.
“Don’t drink too much now. Hehe, anyways, my three friends here need a place to stay and eat. Just put it on my tab.”
The innworker nodded and bringing them to a three person room. Yangcong had simply looked over to Derry and Hazel with a smirk.
“If you need food Derry, I can go fetch you some.”
