Hell's Kitchen (Open)

Just as she'd intended, the thing reacted in anger to her oh so subtly implied insults. It was Zerori's voice that first alerted her to the coming attack, turned as her back was to the stranger, and the sound of rushing footsteps only confirmed why she was being warned. However, before she could retaliate in kind, the mother -of all people- had intervened.

Rosemary smirked smugly at the thing as she turned to glance at him over the elder demon's shoulder. Her attention was briefly taken by Zriracha's pleas to not destroy what was left of the lab, but the only response she got immediately was a quiet chuckle before the hybrid exhaled a thick cloud of smoke that washed over the stranger.

"My apologies, but this is work, not fun." She continued to smirk as many hands came from the smoke, surrounding the stranger and attempting to hold him in place. Even transformed, she didn't think he would be able to fight her off easily. A few of the hands squeezed hard just to emphasize that belief.

"Now, we both know what will happen if you run, don't we?" Her voice echoed, bouncing off the walls of the lab and the thing's mind in turn as she invaded his very being. Alongside her words, she left him with image after image of his body, broken and bleeding, being left for the beasts of the wastes when she was through with it. "You're going to help us find anything of value still down here, then you're going to hand it over to me. If I like what we find, then I'll let you go. If not, I will leave you down here and collapse the entire structure on top of you.

"Am I clear?" The bravado had almost left the hybrid's expression, replaced by dour seriousness and the admission that she won't hesitate to bury the thing alive underneath this laboratory. She had a mission to complete, after all.

Whether the device truly was a scouter or not, Rosemary's ill familiarity with the technology shined as the thing demonstrated how to turn it on. Rather than read off anyone's battle power, however, an audio recording began to play, and the hybrid's sensitive eyes could've sworn they saw the sparks of life try to light the screen before whatever damage or degradation stopped the process in its tracks. That was too bad...

But, there was hardly any time to wonder about that before the thing got scared and snapped the device from Zerori's hands before quickly disabling the playback again. Rosemary looked at him closely, her lip twitching in thought and one brow raised in a mix of surprise and curiosity. Then, she grinned a wide look and became as smoke once again.

With such speed as she had over the boy, it was simple to pulled the device from his grasp; the machine vanishing from sight into the smoke before it and she reconstituted again some feet away. A small, victorious chuckle bounced around the dark room as her fingers searched for the button to investigate the intriguing device further.

"Old recordings are exactly the kind of thing we're after, I'm afraid." Her eyes and teeth shown in the darkness with supernatural clarity. "Now, let's see... What is Project Atomos?" She almost asked the question of herself while she depressed the button again, and after a few worrisome seconds, the device limped back to life and began the recording anew.
