Budokai Quarterfinals - Crotona VS Kon

With one leg down, Kon fully expected the rest to come falling down shortly after. In fact, potentially could have found herself satisfied if the woman would have accidently rung herself out, seeing how she had gotten quite a few great hits in. However, to both her irritation and excitement the monstrous being transformed once again, this time turning from the skeletal creature to a large insect, reminiscent from the one she had turned into before. Gross! Behind her mask, Kon couldn't help but stick out her tongue out of frustration. Whether she was a giant skeleton, insect or a humanoid, none of it matter. As long as she was able to kick her ass and win this tournament that was all that mattered.

That was, if it could only stop moving around for once. With it zipping across the arena, it was difficult for her to figure out where it was going. All she could do was jump around helplessly, until it would ultimately charge right behind her. There wasn't much time for her to react, seeing how sporadic the movement was before and how sudden this attack was. There was nothing Kon could do but take the blow completely, sending her into her air. Despite the sudden movement though, she quickly thought of a way to use it to her advantage. As she was in the air, she then began to contort her body, changing her trajectory more into a backflip where she held out a hand, planning on unleashing a burst of green ki at the insect's back as a sort of counter attack and slam it into the ground if possible. While Kon wasn't particularly sure how well this would work, she needed something to buy time for her primary attack.

Even if Kon could speak without fear of giving away her true identity, she was simply too absorbed in the fight to actually process it. Crotona's words to her went in one ear and and then quickly out the next. For all she knew, it really could be the buzz of an insect, just like her current form. After all, they weren't here for a light chat and even if this was just a tournament without fear of death or maiming, this was a competition. She had no intention of getting friendly with any of her opponents.

Once again, Crotona transformed back into her typical form. Finally she was done with all her transformation schticks and stuff. It was getting really old and annoying for her to deal with, so Kon was grateful for this opportunity to deal with something much more normal for now. Nonetheless, despite the damage the two took, she was glad at the very least that she didn't ring herself out. At the very least, she had respect for that, seeing how she continued to fight despite her wounds. That told her that Crotona wasn't a coward at the very least. Her hand once again went to her belly, trying her best to stem the flow of blood once more. The world around her might be spinning, but she still had enough strength to fight. 

Her mind just barely registered the swinging of the sword coming towards her once again. Although Kon was confident that the strength behind the blow was nothing compared to her own power, the blood loss was beginning to affect her brain. What if this wasn't enough? What she had some weird trick up her sleeve that she couldn't prepare for? Well, she definitely couldn't let this happen if that were the case, especially with her pride on the line. Right before the slash attack had reached, Kon's body began to grow green as she surrounded it with ki. A moment later, the force of her slash was absorbed into the ki, with no discernable injury on her body before it quickly fired back towards Crotona in the form of a shockwave. Now it was time to see how she would deal with something like this.

She won. Again.

But why was she winning through ringouts like this? Sure, it brought her forward where she could fight stronger people, but Kon hated these ringout victory. First it was Kythl'gneg (not that she really counted that as a fight to begin with), then Mister Steel and now Crotona? Were they all doing this to spite her? Well, even if it wasn't it really felt like it at this point. As she watched Crotona fly into the audience stand, she couldn't help but feel numb at this victory even as the cheers of the audience fell upon deaf ears. When was she ever going to be able to get a win through an actual means?

As Crotona came back, trying to offer her a friendly handshake, all she could do was stare at the outstretched hand for a moment. Did she really think of this as a great fight? Having such an unsatisfactory ending like that? Man, she didn't think that everyone here thought that was a fight. After what felt like hours to her, she merely swiped at Crotona's hand with her own bloodied hand, turning around on her heel as she walked away. Sure, it wasn't winning any favors, but she didn't actually give a crap either. This fight was annoying, the ending was annoying and everything was annoying. She didn't care about being friendly with her, even if Crotona wanted to. Yeah, sure she was trying to put up an image but at this point she had trouble caring.

Walking back to the locker room, Kon instead focused upon upon the wound on her stomach. Even if she had won this match, she couldn't risk passing out, especially with her identity on line. Surely they would have some healthy beets for her, or something along with some spare clothes, especially with how ruined her current attire was. For now, all she needed was some rest to help her get ready for her next match.
