"They are instilled with a sense of preservation and defiance. That is a good thing. That is how a majority of mortal species were made to be - if there is an issue with that behavior that we find grand enough to be of great offense then that fault lies solely on the Shinjin. One does not create something and then become angered when it does not do what you had intended. That was the point, dare I say, of creation in the first place. Without that drive, without that sense of will and determination, I'd wager that the mortal realms would be a rather boring affair. At most an assortment of isolationist primitive cultures rather than the diverse galaxy at large we see now." Paige paused, a troubled flicker of emotion crossing her countenance for but a moment. "To be born with a near eternal life or sense of complete invulnerability to the dangers of conflict or life creates evil. We see this most commonly in the most aged of the other species - the Arcosians and the Majins most of all. Certainly not nearly all are devious or devilish in some way, but malefic intent seems also intrinsic to them as a byproduct of their enhanced life over others."
Paige finally stood from her stool, the chair vanishing too as she deeply sighed and stared out across the magically-infused plains for a few moments. "As said I can never truly understand or think the way a mortal does. We are built differently as a matter of divine nature and thusly are not the same. This is an immutable truth. And while I fully understand why the Shinjin do not involve themselves in small affairs - to do otherwise would be folly - that doesn't mean I cannot see why some would view us with clear contempt over our neutrality. We are called 'Gods' in their tongue. Divine entities. Creators. To hold a lofty view of what you think that should embody and to see it torn down when actually meeting one certainly can't be a pleasant experience. That and being told that the same creators who helped birth you will now stand by and watch your entire species, friends, and family die in a war? While ultimately necessary for us to preserve our neutrality, such actions understandably can infuriate those who do not have the correct lens of life to view our decisions through. They do not understand because they cannot understand, and for that, I hold no grudges against them. Even the vilest, hate-filled, and aggressive of them towards us I find it prudent to at least try and show some level of sympathy in place of action."
