"O-oh, well that's just... Well, I f-forgot. For a while. R-really, I still am not sure, so I just need to go off of what my dads told me before they... left." Phakk shrugs, frowning at the pang of sadness in her chest. Darastras and Viru... she missed them. Granted, she hadn't known them as long as Bobbi, who had also struck out, but... between the absence of her foster fathers and foster sister, she had been feeling... rather alone. No guidance, beyond their final wishes. So she supposed it was nice. To be sitting here with Ward, talking. Did this confirm he was her best friend? Or just friend? These social things were all still so confusing, despite the amount of time she had dedicated towards mastering the craft. Something told the Shinjin, however, that she hadn't even scratched the surface.
"Apparently I'm… actually pretty old. E-even for a Shinjin. If... if Old even applies." She shrugs, feeling admittedly kind of embarrassed, scratching at the back of her head. "Physically, anyway. Since I... I can't actually remember most of my life from before. That's the weird part, I guess. More than four thousand years of existence, and it all feels... blurry. Or not even there." A hand reaches to scoop some sand into her pal, lifting it up ad watching the grans slip through her fingers and back to the sand of the beach, lightly splattering across her legs. "And I suppose I get what you mean, with the fish. When you're looing in from the outside, it's... easy to judge, I guess. But this..." Her arms gesture at the world around them, and back up into the sky, towards the stars. "This is all they've got."
"And I'm fine with them turning on me. After all-" She nudges him with her elbow, grinning. "We're the gods. What's a bad guy to the story, you know? If they want to blame me, they can. I'm... probably going to deserve it, by the end of all of this." A shrugs, before she returns to looking towards the ocean. "If it means keeping most safe, I guess I'm fine with doing some bad things. Maintaining the Balance comes with a cost, right?"
