Phakk shivered, the cold of Mt. Frappe managing to pierce through the girl's fluffy jacket as she slowly flew her way up towards the peak of it. Such an occurrence certainly didn't bode well, considering she wasn't even a 10th of the way up ad the woman was already feeling cold, but she figured that if it became unbearable she could just leave! There was an adorable little tourist log cabin restaurant a mile or two back, an even right now the thought of maybe getting her hands on some hot cocoa was a really tempting one! But, at least for now, Phakk was more interested in trying to see the view from the top of Earth's tallest mountain. She'd seen earth from space, of course, but something told her that that was hardly the same.
Thus, she continued to float upwards, snuzzling into her coat some more as she slowly made her way up. Glancing around, she half expected for something to happen. They usually seemed to, whenever Phakk was out by herself and exploring anew area. Most of the time, it was a good though! She had always made new friends! ...She wondered how Delia was doing. Maybe later, she could give the Saiyan a call and check up on her? Hmm..
A cold, harsh mountain? It was not surprise Faustus if he saw his lord Azoth in this environment; how much it reminded him of Arcose. The planet Earth was much more diverse than either Plant or Arcose; Plant being a destitute wasteland with Arcose being nothing but frozen tundra, at least as far as he saw. So what was the Majin even doing out here? Well he needed a bit of a break mainly. Azoth, the tournament, fighting in general; it had gotten to him. Though he looked forward to the idea of testing his abilities at the same time he was a scientist first and a fighter second.
Geology wasn't his strong suite, but he once meet an Android which did perk his interest a slight bit when it came to such things. Exploring a certain formation of rocks had brought him on this path. At some point a long the way he must have gotten sidetracked and simply kept going until he was here. Now what? He had gone this far; maybe if he kept going he'd find something, or someone who would continue to hold his interest. Right now though his mind sharply took a detour; food. He needed it, right now. The first living thing he saw was going to get munched on.
A mountain, up this high, was probably not a good place to be looking for food. Maybe a bird, or perhaps a small rodent would come along for him? Probably not, and even if it did he was far past that at this point. He needed something big, something female with purple hair that was floating not too far in front of him... wait. Was that a real person, or was he going delusional now? Were Majins capable of going delusional? Why didn't he just use his magic to conjure some food? He really was mad. But now his mind was dead set on eating this young lady!
Phakk hummed as she floated, but eventually the girl did snap out of the slight reverie she had found herself in, long enough to realise that what she had thought was the cold was actually a really nearby power signature! Oh, how delightful! Earth seemed to be so full of strong people, and all of them hung around the weirdest places! ...Then again, she was always the one near those weird places too, so... that... probably didn't count? Or counted more? Maybe she wasn't allowed to ju- "H-hi!" She calls out to the... oh! Majinn! In order to distract herself from her own thoughts, giving them a wave. "A-are you hungry? I have some food, if you are!" From what Bobbi had told her, the quickest way to befriend one of her kind was to offer food, as apparently they were always hungry. Thus, Phakk had taken to carrying around emergency snacks!
Giving the stranger a wave, Phakk waits to see if they were friendly or not before moving closer. After all, how would she like it if some stranger barged into her private time without so much as a hello? The woman had been spending time learning how to interact with people, and this seemed like a great chance to use what she'd rea on the internet. "My name is Phakk. It's nice to meet you. What is your name?" She calls out. Perfect. Just like the simulations!
Faustus really was mad, wasn't he? It seemed his meal was talking to him, only now she wasn't just a meal any more. She was a person? He was so sure he was going to eat her, but when he brought up mention of food herself... well that intrigued him. He could still try to eat her now, maybe it'd work or maybe she'd get away. On the other hand if he listened to her, followed her and was brought to food that didn't try and run away, then at the worst he could still turn around and try to eat her after. It seemed like a no brainer then.
"Yes. Food. Very Hungry. Where is your food? I need it."
The creature called itself Phakk, and it appeared to be an ordinary Human girl from first inspection. What she was doing here, all by herself was anyone's guess, but Faustus didn't understand most Human conventions so he didn't bother questioning this. After that, she asked for his name.
"I am Faustus. Majin, employed by Azoth, competitor in the Budokai Tenkaichi. Primarily consider myself a scientist though."
Faustus didn't need to give the whole backstory, but he was a bit delirious with the empty stomach.
"Oh! W-well, it's nice to meet you Faustus! ...What's a scientist doing out here?" Phakk responds, tilting her head in curiosity as she reaches into her backpack to pull out one of three large, tinfoil wrapped containers that held three burritos a piece. "Here! But eat it quickly, because up here's pretty cold!" She passes it to the majin, shivering in the wind. "U-unless you want to head back down? There's a nice restaurant a mile back, if you feel like going there!" Why was she inviting this stranger to a restaurant? Phakk... wasn't sure, if she was honest. Maybe it was because he was a Majinn. She'd always gotten along with Bobbi, and he did seem pretty hungry, even for one of their kind.
Whoever this Azoth was or what this Budokai is could wait until another time, she decided. Such as a time where they weren't halfway up the tallest mountain in the world, freezing and/or starving to death. Yyyeaahhh... the more Phakk thought about things, the less she decided she wanted to be up here. It was kind of hard to breathe, too, and maybe she could come back with... more than just a coat. Squinting a little at Faustus, she moves to slowly pull out another one of those emergency snacks, as he definitely looked... less healthy than Bobby. "L-l-lets um... lets g-get you someplace else." She murmurs to him above the howling wind.
The young lady wanted to know what a scientist was doing all the way out here, which was a very good question. What was he doing out here? The most accurate answer would be trying to relax, though from a normal person's perspective trying to relax in a place like this must have seemed like madness.
"I have a very busy work life. The mountains... they're peaceful. They allow me to get away from the stress of all that."
He was of course referring to his role under Azoth. Though the pressure was really, mostly, self-imposed. Though he was not a great believer when he had first signed on with him, he had come to see a lot of potential in the things he was saying. It was mostly out of self interest at this point, but hey: does that not count?
As soon as Phakk pulled the foiled food from her pack, Faustus grabbed a hold of them and swallowed them without even removing the packaging. He didn't know what was in them, but he knew that he liked them. But they weren't enough; not even close. Mention of a restaurant peaked his interest once more.
"Yes. Take me there. I have lots of money. We'll take all they have. Lead the way."
"Oh. I guess I can understand that." Phakk murmurs in response to Faustus' answer, nodding as the pair of them descended. "It's usually nice and quiet up here, i'm guessing, s-so... I... i-if your brain goes fast, it probably... helps?" Uuuughhh... if she weren't with company right now, the girl might have hidden her face in shame. Words were still so hard for her! "B-but it's good that you have an active work life, I guess? What do you do? I-I mean, a-a-as in, what's your focus?" She knew that scientists in the 'real world' weren't like the ones in her games, that knew everything. Probably. They had specialisations and stuff.
"And why not ask your boss for some extra time off, o-or something? Unless you have. A-and this is it. Y-you know wh-what... Never mind." She had tried, okay?! That sounded like a good idea in her head at the time... Huffing in frustration with herself, Phakk rummages through her bag once more to offer a burrito without the wrapping foil this time. Because that just couldn't be healthy. "Here. A snack until we get there. I know Majins can get preeeettty hungry. My sister's always starving." She giggles at the thought of Bobbi and her antics, before glancing at her phone to see which way to go. "Uh... it's this way! Follow me!" She calls, pointing in a seemingly random direction and setting off, phone held out in front of her.
As the two descended down the mountain and on their way to the restaurant, the woman tried to initiate some small talk with Faustus. She asked him what sort of work he did, which was a very difficult question to answer. What exactly could he tell her without giving away any vital information? He had already mentioned Azoth, which may have been more than he should have. He didn't no expect his lord would like to keep his visit a secret, considering he was a part of the tournament, but perhaps he wanted to be a surprise entrant.
And what of the work itself? Typically he focused on... less than savory endeavors. Could he tell her about the kidnappings and experiments? The killer robots he helped design? Probably topics she would either have no interest in, or would be outright disgusted by. Best course of action would probably be just making something up.
"I'm an engineer. I primarily work on in the robotics department. I design and upgrade new robots for my Lord to use, primarily in the leisure and labor departments."
That sounded mundane enough; nothing wrong with any of that, right? He didn't know the morals or ethics of the person he was speaking to, but she seemed rather innocent to him. Normally he would not care so much, but he was still starving and she had a steady supply of delicious meals for him. She asked another question, this one was about time off. Faustus didn't have much of an answer for that.
"It's not that he works me to death, it's that I enjoy my work. I want to continue it, and advance it as much as possible. I work myself into the ground more than anything."
She handed him another snack, this time without the silver wrapping as the others. He assumed that's where the flavor was kept, but gobbling this one down revealed that was nothing to worry about. She made a very curious comment to Faustus, referring to her 'sister' whom she implied was a Majin herself. How was that possible? Majins did not procreate in the same way that most living beings did; it was arguable if you could even consider a Majin a living being? Was this woman a Majin in someway too? A very difficult thought to comprehend.
She pointed in the direction of where she believed the restaurant to be, and that's the direction Faustus took off in. He wasn't quite sure what kind of restaurant it was, but if it had more of the snacks she'd been feeding him then he'd be happy.
"Oh! Well, that's good. On both ends, I mean." Phakk hums in reply, nodding along with what Faustus was telling her. Robotics... that was pretty impressive! Plus, most of her favourite games had robots, so if they were anything like that, it was even better. Hm. Maybe she could ask Faustus for help on her arm cannon at some point? If he had a knack for it, he'd be useful, and she certainly did not have said knack. Manny late nights and slightly singed hairs had told her as such. "Just remember to make sure to take care of yourself, I suppose." She offers. "You'll be no good if you're too hungry or exhausted to think straight! Self care is important." The shinjin woman nods with a huff, before focusing back on the flight.
It didn't really take that long for the pair of them to make their way to the destination, a large looking log building with a currently snowed in veranda and warm light leaking out of the glass windows. Even from where they were, the scent of freshly baked goods, warm herbs an hot food wafted through the air and up towards them. In response, Phakk's belly rumbles, eliciting an embarrassed laugh from the girl. "Smells good, right?" She calls over to Faustus as best she coul pat the wind, before moving to descend down toward the cabin, wind flapping through her hair.
Touching down lightly on the wooden porch, she waits for Faustus to join her. "Okay, so just remember not to eat the plate, or utensils. They'll be the metal ones. Because otherwise the people here get mad and you won't get any more food, okay?" She advises/warns him, making sure he understood after seeing that event with the tin foil.
A few moments later and the two of them arrived at the restaurant. It wasn't quite what Faustus had been expecting; the city life had gotten him used to the fancy sort of stuff, but this was on a mountain so what did he really expect? Just because it wasn't fancy though didn't mean the food would be any worse; he was staying positive. Before they could actually enter, Phakk felt the need to give the Majin a warning: don't eat the plates or utensils. He didn't really see the big deal; if was really hungry then it was all going in, but he'd try his best not to upset her or anyone else if was really that big a deal.
Faustus burst through the door first and fly over to the first empty seat. He impatiently waited for Phakk to hurry up so that he could make his order; he wasn't quite sure why he felt the need to do so but she was the one who showed him where this place was so he felt some degree of cooperation should be in place. As he read through the menu and figured out just what the best options were, he decided he'd learn a little more about her.
"So, you asked about me; what about you? Where is it that you come from, and what exactly is it that you do? Unless you just live out here and do nothing all day?"

Phakk immediately found herself wincing as Faustus burst through the door and towards the empty seat, stepping in herself, and quickly clasping her hands together to apologise to the nearest member of staff. They seemed... a little off put. But as the Majin had been flying and wasn't causing a ruckus now, it was brushed under the rug after a moment, staff deciding that they would prefer not to have a problem. Making her way over quickly, Phakk opens her mouth to tell the Majinn off... but, seeing his face staring at the menu, simply huffs. She guessed she could understand, and Bobbi herself was an excitable one. Plus it seemed like he was waiting for her, which... helped.
Tapping her menu slightly against the table to straighten it, Phakk peruses the menu, taking a seat opposite of the Majinn. "Mm?" She blinks, looking up at his question whilst noting the presence of hot chocolate on the menu(!!). "Oh. I'm from... a planet called Carcear. You wouldn't know it. I... it's out in the sticks pretty far, and doesn't have many people on it. As for what I do..." She mulls it over, tilting her head from side to side. "Y-yeah, I... I guess. I don't do all that much otherwise. I m-mostly just roam and enjoy meeting new people, like you! It's... been a long time since I was outside, s-so I've been taking this chance to make the absolute most of it." She Shinjin pauses, frowning in thought, before dismissing it and glancing back towards the menu. "Have... have you decided yet? Feel free to pick what you want, us Shinjin have a lot of money apparently!" She once again thanked her dads for such a gift, otherwise things would... probably be a lot worse.
It didn't take Phakk too long to catch up; she was probably upset with his 'poor' behavior but right now that wasn't on his mind. Aside from what he was going to eat, he wanted to hear her answer. She wasn't an Earthling, which was a bit surprising, but instead an Alien from a planet called Carcear. She was right to assume that he had never heard of it; not a single bell was rung by it's mention. He thought himself rather well versed in regards to the universe and it's bodies, at least all of the important ones. He wondered what Carcear must have been like, but that thought was quickly pushed aside with some delicious ones taking it's place.
His jab at her not doing anything was apparently correct; odd to hear someone say such a thing. She just...roams around and meets new people? Well it seemed odd to him, to not have any strong direction. He knew what he wanted to, and he knew how to follow the orders given to him. To live such a free life instead; it was something not easy for him to understand. He had a direction ever since the day he was born; his first sounds came from his creator, forcing him to absorb the old Tuffle bastard. It must have been nice to live a life without orders though. She asked if he had made up his mind, to which he had.
"I want pancakes; glazed in syrup. I want whipped cream and jam to be placed in a ring around the outside. In between each pancake I would like a medium rare steak, preferably seasoned with garlic and cheddar. As a side I would like three bananas dipped in chocolate and butter. A glass a orange juice would be nice as well."
After giving his order, another curious point brought up by Phakk; apparently she was a Shinjin. Perhaps Faustus should have noticed it soon, as she did have a strange sort of aura to her. He knew little about her kind; certainly not as much as he would like to. As someone who primarily considered himself a learner he did not want to pass up this opportunity.
"A... Shinjin, did you say? It's not everyday someone gets to meet one of your kind."
Blinking at the flurry of wants, Phakk takes a moment to pull out her notepad, doing her absolute best to focus on Faustus' words and write down what she could. Talk about an appetite! He must have been really hungry! Well, despite everything, she was more than happy to help the Majinn fix that. As for Phakk herself... she decided to settle for a stack of waffles, as big as she could get them, and a nice hot mug of hot chocolate. Said order was quickly settled as one of the waiters managed to muster up the courage to approach them, with the girl deciding to take the lead in talking here for... obvious reasons. Surprisingly, they didn't exactly seemed perturbed in the slightest at the size of the order or the specifications, and instead moved to collect the menus, telling the pair that the food would be with them shortly.
With that done, she returns to the conversation. "Mm? Oh. Yes. Apparently my people aren't common, as you say. We prefer to live in a place called Otherworld. Essentially an afterlife. I've been there! It's... nice." Granted, Phakk hadn't actually seen much of it, but she had met Ward there, so it was good in her book. Plus, with al the odd architecture and shining city, it looked just like something out of a fantasy game! So cool. "I'm impressed you know what that i, though. Most people mistake me for a half blood earthling, or a race known as the Konatsians." She offers the Majin a smile. "So, um... Who's Azoth? Is he anyone I should know?"
Phakk speedily took down everything that Faustus had asked for; he was a bit surprised she could keep up with it all. Thankfully the restaurant had no problem gilling an order of such diversity or magnitude, they must have been scared or something. Surprisingly though, food was second in his mind to further discussions with Phakk. A Shinjin, on Earth? Spending her time simply... roaming around? What could possibly be the reason for that? Were her people not the people of the Gods? The arbitrators of the afterlife? Surely there must have been some... plan, right? She must have been protecting it with an alibi.
She did mention the afterlife, simple referring to it as... nice. She didn't go into much detail beyond that, but she did say she was surprised that Faustus knew such things. He, of course, considered himself an intellectual. He spent many hours studying the beings and ways of the universe, and that included those who resided in the otherworld. It was a hard thing to learn about; most of the people who have actually been are dead. Most of what he heard was admittedly based simply on rumor and conjecture, but to meet a real life Shinjin did confirm a few of things he knew.
After that the conversation shifted back to the Majin. She wanted to know more about his employer. Once again, he didn't know how much he could or should reveal at this point, so he tried to keep it as simple as possible.
"Well, I can tell you that he's a very powerful person; he had to be among the most powerful people I've ever meet, for sure. He's a... philanthropist, I guess you could say. He thinks he knows of a way he can help bring joy to the people of Earth, which is why he's come here, primarily. He's got a lot of big plans, and the planet of Earth is involved in a few of them."
The waiter came back with their orders and plopped them down on the table; it took a couple of them to get everything Faustus had wanted but they got it done. He got to worked hovering the food up, only taking small breaks in between to throw out a few more questions at Phakk. "So, tell me; is Earth the only planet you've visited? Aside from your home world. Oh, your home world by the way; what's it like?"
"Oh! Well then, this Azoth sounds very pleasant." Phakk smiles at Faustus, murmuring a thank you to the waiter and offering them an apologetic smile as Faustus began to vacuum up the food. To the point that Phakk had to take... precautionary measures to ensure she got to have her own food! Bobbi had pulled that particular trick more than once, and she wasn't in the mood to go without the food she had been craving ever since seeing this lovely little place. "To aid others is a wonderful thing, so I hope he can keep going! ...Even if I'm not sure why everyone has this obsession with who's stronger than whoever else. I've heard of apparent 'warrior races', but..." She wiggles a hand, the other moving to shovel waffle into her mouth. "Seems off to me."
True to his claim of being a scientist, it seemed Faustus was pretty inquisitive! It was a nice trait, even if Phakk knew she would need to... step lightly around a few subjects. Such as why she was here, or anyone related to her. Fortunately he seemed uninterested in asking her any further questions on why she was generally aimless, which was good. She would have hated to lie to such a nice man! ...If she even could! "Mhm! Earth is the only mortal planet I've been to outside of Carcear, although I'm moving to a lovely planet called Namek soon. It's next on my list of travels, and I've seen a lot of what Earth can offer already." This time, Phakk brought her hot cocoa to her lips and essentially worked on downing the entire mug as quickly as she could. Half out of genuine want, and half out of fear of losing it to the Majinn if she put it down. Once that was done, the shinjin woman lets out a happy breath off warm air and reclines back in her seat.
"As for Carcear, it's... a dead planet. Not much lives there anymore, and whatever did is... gone. Ish." How did one describe ancient prison seals and madness inducing darkness? ...Preferably with silence, she supposed. "I... Lived there for a while by myself, and my people can usually materialise nutrients, so I was alone for a while. How about yourself?" It was taking every ounce of willpower Phakk had to not stutter or backtrack, as she put on her absolute best impression of a social savvy person. She could do this!
