How many years had it been? How many agonizing hours had he clung to life, the blackest of Black to welcome him. His eyes had long since lost their light, and he could no longer use his eyes to witness the world about him. His body was in pure agony every moment, but it kept him present, locked here. He could feel the cold stone beneath him. He could feel the drooling black of his own body, the life blood that sustained him bleeding onto the ground and his mashed body attempted to suck it back in a futile attempt.
He could feel himself slipping away now, in the last couple... years? months? weeks? In the last short amount of time beneath Konats surface. There he lurked, a broken mess of a demon that refused to die. Erebos had killed Kamae that day, the poison he had unleashed bringing the mighty body of Kamae to deaths door. But Kamae was not attached to his body like most mortals. He could sustain his flesh by standing before it in his spirit form... But as the spirit stood in that silent chamber, his flesh writhing at his feet. The Bone blade of Bael loomed Ominously behind him as it offered its silent assistance... But even that was growing weaker by the day. Kamae could not leave his flesh behind else he die and truly pass on to the after life...
Until a noise caught his ears, and he paused almost losing concentration as he tried to focus on the sound. Hope blossoming in his chest... Until the sound went silent once more. The ancient demon unable to take it any longer throwing his head back to scream, a wail of agony not unlike the one when he broke down into this mass. A scream of pure despair in an entity ages old, the scream of eons. But that scream was soon met with a shout, almost unheard until it came for a third time, much louder.
The demon's head would snap to its location and in his gaze met the sight of light... But he did not see it. No light could penetrate the dark that had taken Kamae now. His eyes wept the void in thick streams, his eyes as grey as iron. His mouth had long almost completely faded away now, leaving not but teeth and bone. What she saw, his daughter broke her heart. Sobi gasped in fear for the first time upon laying eyes on her foster father. Her companions who had assisted her in climbing down into this massive cave. Its furthest reaches had held the treasure she sought and now with him in her sights she could do naught but stare.
His mortal form was... EVERYWHERE. Like a moss growing upon the stone, it had infested the cave. Kamae was beyond normal means of saving now, Erebos' poison had done its job... But Sobi had two years with access to everything her foster father had left behind. She had come to return the favor he had done so long ago.
"S-Sobi?"
Kamae's voice was weak, frail and brittle. He sounded old... very old. Like every single year of his thousands year life had caught up to him. Sobi took a tenetive step forward only for her companion to shout as a fleshy tendril wrapped around her leg.
"Madam Ghoun!"
His words stopped the demon in its tracks as he heard that name... Sobi's last name was Udon... He could not see her, and Sobi knew this instantly upon looking at his eyes. His body simply had touched her to confirm it was indeed his daughter... yet she did not speak. She did not confirm her identity and she would not do so. He knew his daughter when he saw her, or for this matter felt. She was his own, and even in his blind madness he could sense this... but the others... Soon screams could be heard behind Sobi. But the girl... no the woman she had become was not afraid and had known anyone with her would be slain.
Kamae would never allow himself to be seen in such a deplorable state. But he could never hurt Sobi, and her mind was brilliant enough to know him now. She had studied her father like art, learning everything she could from him in hopes of finding out where he had gone. Now as she reached the spirit within the mass of flesh, she simply stopped. Kamae held out his arms for a hug but Sobi did not return it. She stood silently in the mess that was Kamae before gritting her teeth.
"You bastard... you sick bastard... all this years and you just expect me to forgive you?"
Kamae's arms instantly fell then, eyes wide as he heard her voice. It sounded rougher, and matured. As if she had learned to speak properly... She had gone a lot.
"You tore open the sky then almost died, so you crawled in a cave? To die? Were you THAT ASHAMED?!"
Sobi stated before pushing the demon back, his spirit losing balance before falling onto his backside. Kamae lowered his gaze as the fight began to leave him. He was tired... so tired... He couldn't take anymore.... Kamae would lay back down, as if he had just given up on hearing those words. Yet Sobi's eye opened wide in fury before she fished out a syringe. Its blue contents known to Kamae. Before he could protest however, Sobi stabbed the device into his flesh with a hiss.
"HELL NO! You will not DIE! Not yet. I am not DONE with you!"
Sobi shouted as the device unleashed its payload into Kamae's broken body with the low whine of a machine. As soon as he felt it touch his veins, The ancient demon felt his life force return to him in full. The strength within soon feeding into the blade, a deal was struck, a price must be paid. Whether Sobi knew about the looming blade in the dark nearby, or had simply missed it. But the blade began to glow a sickly green, and a voice that dripped with pure malice echoed through the chamber.
Its voice in the old tongue of Kamae's dead people. "In the state of purity, a sense of belongingness arises.”
Then the whole of Kamae's body began to pulse and worm their way together...
