Free Roamin' (Erra)

Kare took the shoulder punch without budging, just smirking down at the Heran't as she celebrates her quick victory over the clerical hegemony of this company. The man leaned into his chair and grabbed his phone, punching in a few numbers before nodding at the two girls. A single finger wags at them.

"Of course, just a moment ladies."
The elemi taps her staff to the ground at the idea she was going to be the one doing the bulk of file work. That was dirty stuff reserved for secretaries and other weaker folk who were good at thinking and not much else.

"You take me as a pencil pusher?"
She wonders aloud, leaning on her staff while cocking her head to the side. "I suppose if you want a job done you do it yourself, can't expect these lot to understand where to look even if we wanted them to run checks themselves."
It wasn't a long call, as the man only took all of a few moments to speak to his phone before rising again, making way for the door out of their little meeting room. He didn't seem to do much with the information on the thumb drive other than play it, but offering it back now probably meant he already made a copy himself. Cheeky.

"Right, if you'll follow me, we have a workstation you can use."
The open office air was a little stale, but open windows in the later parts of the afternoon were starting to help as they were escorted. The computer was nothing fancy, just a step up from the laptop he was using. Kare popped some knuckles and sat down in a deceptively comfy seat.

"Right. Watch and learn..."

Kare took the tease on her shoulder as she began working her magic. More than a expert with keyboards and tech, she seemed to interface with the earthling tech seemlessly. Quickly darting through the GUI this version of DOORS they were operating used. The obvious file names, she wouldn't bother with as it was better to head directly to the FTP and look at their databases. To note, anything their 'careers' website had logged as a 'associates'. Which turned out to be hundreds, easily, in East City. The narrower branch helped. Alongside this, she went searching for any shipments made to this department or otherwise 'EAST CITY' in general.

She did so with a brevity that she'd probably smoke the schmucks making a living doing this.

"If it's a marketing and call center like what they pose, they keep tabs on cargo and whatever gets shipped to their cities in order to keep their advertisements up to date. They'd also have a sales log they send over to the higher ups to determine supply and demand. This is the first and last like of tracking shipments, especially ones that are supposed to be headed to a store."
And, of course, filtering out by jobs she could get drivers and pilots. Narrowing names down on a sheet even further. Kare fixes her hair and squints at the monitor.

"Assume this shipment was within the week. We can then check schedules and look up what might be suspicious absences or recent no-calls." It wasn't full proof, but it was a start. "If we are to believe these are stolen identities, we go from there. We may have to backtrack if it turns out we have some illegal workers here."

Kare most certainly wasn't doing the whole overthinking, nervous ticking while glancing through this. Things were calculated, any glances she shot were to the next textbox. It wouldn't be the wildest thing to think maybe there was some cartoonish evil twist to this, but it was just as equally likely someone was making a quick buck trying to sell illegal substances, weapons, whatever you wish to categorize Destron as. It'd take a few more sorting and a few extra windows to tab around before the Elemi could answer her Heran't companion.

"We've got two ships, two different crews who fit the bill for being East City transport and who are comprised of a largely alien workforce."
It was about as concrete as an assortment of private employees, schedules, and loaned vehicles was going to get. "Both likely candidates, as they latest shipments were a little over a week ago, lining up with our assumption the destron had to be a recent purchase by those terrorists." She leans back in her seat, propping an arm on the back of her chair as she suddenly pulled up each person on both ship's I.D. separate. The Accords made this tracking easier, a face was put to a lot of these foreigners out of necessity of the law. A couple were recognizable immediately. A Crocodilian and Brenchian of middling status and unimpressive looks, both a different shade of blue.

"Got it, same looks as the guys doing the deal. We have to take a look at their ship, it's not reported as missing."
The man watching them frowns a little, only crossing his arms. He seemed to less aim this at the girls this time, the frustration probably fixating more on doing paperwork involving possible internal paperwork. He saw the video himself and could clearly see the resemblance once pointed out. He pulls out a phone to check something on it with a shake of his head.

"Kami above... We expect shipments from that crew weekly so they might be back in later tonight. Tomorrow, if they call in with an something intermittent slowing them down."
That was probably their ticket to actually catch them.
