A Meet And Greet [OPEN]

It didn’t take long for Onoma to heal from his recent chaotic venture. So long as he avoided going too crazy then he wasn’t going to be all that much worse off. For today, he decided to waltz right back into Central City. These Earthlings were either too busy being miserable and grieving what they had lost to notice him, or they were just terrified by his presence— he didn’t care to know let alone ask.

Swiping a coffee order from some random chump before they could get it, he shoved past anyone dumb enough to try and stop him until he got further into the city. Eventually he noticed some sort of hubbub around that political building he had visited some time ago. Maybe this could be interesting? Onoma made his way over and stood near the stage trying to pick up what was going on.

There was a really loud guy with an eyepatch addressing the gathered citizens. Something about the Earth being disappointing? Onoma agreed, it was pretty mid. The Namekian barely registered anything else aside from mentioning a chocolate mountain. Did this guy like chocolate? Most people did.

Two interesting individuals emerged not long after, a moth-like alien that brought up some kind of central accordion? Onoma didn’t think much of it. The second individual, someone that looked human brought up the chocolate mountain. Onoma had no idea why people were so heated about chocolate but here he was, hearing it for himself.

Taking a sip of his coffee, Onoma listened in on the arguments. For a good bit, everything seemed to cycle back to chocolate mountains... Then to murder and monsters, how did those two things match up with each other? Surely these Earthlings weren’t so stuffy that sugary treats got them to act up? ’Jeez, and people think I’m weird for preferring coffee over tea..’ Onoma thought to himself.

Violence followed soon after that thought. The citizens immediately around him backed up and scattered since they didn’t want to be caught in the crossfire, but the Namekian, for once, Onoma found himself utterly confused.

Not about the violence, he understood that completely, he was just still hung up on the chocolate argument. He couldn’t let it linger anymore, so he shoved past what remained of the crowd and pointed at the three that were starting to fight.

“Hey, you three fuckwits!” He called out, pointing at them in an accusatory way. “What’s all this shit about a chocolate mountain? I’m really confused here!”

As someone with his track record, Onoma probably should have expected that it may have been possible for those he had just now rudely addressed to react violently to his intrusion and presence. However, being quite comically arrogant, Onoma didn’t think about it— so he wasn’t even all that surprised to have two of them actually catch him up on the events transpiring here, in fact, he felt quite good about himself having managed to get the information he asked for so swiftly.

Apparently someone had magically morphed some boring normal mountain into something with a notable amount of whimsy! Onoma didn’t have any reason to care either way if a mountain was normal or fantastical— at least not until it was explicitly described as including coffee as part of its structure now. “... Well, I’m convinced.” Onoma shrugged. “Sounds like the greatest thing to ever be made.” Did he think of reasons as to why? Yes, and most of them were selfish, but would he elaborate? No. “I’m definitely gonna check it out, you better not be lying about it.”

While he listened to the extra tidbits of information from the Motheran, Onoma didn’t seem to be all that interested in anyone’s moral or political quirks or inclinations. “There are people out there that fight and kill for far less of a reason, or yanno, just no reason at all.” Onoma responded bluntly, chugging down the rest of his coffee.

The Motheran chose to try and convince Onoma to join them in neutralizing the fight, to which the Namekian raised a brow. It was weird being on this side of some chaos, usually Onoma was the one people were wanting to stop. “I dunno, Connor, I find this kinda funny.” Just as he said that, the so-called ‘cynical’ sword demon dropped one of the most unexpected comments Onoma could have heard so he let out a hearty snort and started laughing. “In the walls?! Pfhaahahah, oh man, yeeees, of course, in the walls, crawling suspiciously in the ventilation, plotting and scheming... Man, I didn’t have an Amidst Ourselves joke on today’s bingo card, but here we are.”
