It wasn't a long journey. As Benedict had said, the moons they'd be stalking orbited a twin planet to Terra, much closer to the massive blue star that acted as their sun. It was hard to see much with the eerie blue glow drowning them in still light, but even from here, Terra's twin looked nothing like it. Desolate, pockmarked with craters, streams of magma visible even from orbit. A dead world. Cilas wondered if it was a natural disaster or something far darker that caused the death of a planet so close to one filled with life.
Bikon-5 was the smallest of the moons, but still large enough that the curvature wouldn't be evident while standing on it. Lucky for them, then, that most of the ancient Terran facilities were clustered close together, according to the guide.
"We're set to land soon," He'd inform the crew over the ship's intercom. "Pack up whatever you're doing and get ready to move. ETA five minutes." It was strange. Cilas had purposefully turned down a role as an engineer and pilot in the Saiyan army, desiring to prove himself and grow stronger on the front lines. Here he was doing the same job he'd avoided all those years ago. Things would be different. If Ryugan's squad ever came under duress, he could help. He was strong.
"Here we are..." He'd carefully land the ship on a flat piece of land about fifty steps from the first building's main doors. The scanner didn't reveal anything nearby, but the inside was a different story. "This thing isn't perfect, but it seems a nest of insectoid-type monsters have made their nest inside. Be wary of potential venom from stingers or bites."
