The Namekian announcer stepped forward onto the arena, giving the crowd a short wave before bowing. "Hello and welcome, everyone, to the land of the wildcards, those who have been eliminated thus far are now given a chance to prove themselves and fight on!" The crowd cheered, more than ready to see who would be up to the plate first out of all of those exciting fighters!
"One of our returning fighters will be the hardy and inquisitive Android known as Patchwork!" The crowd cheered for Patchwork, wanting to see more of him after his first fight! "The opposition will be Chomei, one who has a dragon's heart!" The crowd cheered for Chomei as well, excited to see what other techniques he has in his repertoire!
The announcer then took a step back, and addressed the two fighters directly before clearing the arena. "Okay, you two! The winner of this fight will be decided by either knockout or ring-out. If the match has not naturally concluded by the time limit, then our panel of judges will independently determine a winner. The only other rule is that no form of flight may be used in the bout. If I am understood, then... Let the battle begin!"
The preliminaries of the Loser's Bracket begin! This fight will end and be judged on Monday, May 1st if a winner has not yet been decided by either ring-out or knockout by then!
So he was back again, in front of the roaring crowds. Though noticeably with some extra scrap holding him together, but with a few new upgrades as well. Patchwork walked up to the arena platform and took a quick scan of his opponent. With the new scouter model he'd installed into his left ocular he now had access to a whole host of information he didn't have before, at least in theory.
Patch would give his opponent a quick bow. Whilst he did so he was running and re-running simulations in his head based off of his fight with Russ. It was studying that fight and figuring out what he could do better that had lead to some significant increase in his combat ability. He certainly wasn't anything ungodly strong in such a short time, but he now moved less sluggishly, used his energy more efficiently. He was more experienced, in short.
That wasn't to say he could relax though. He still had an unknown opponent in front of him with likely a whole host of powerful abilities and their disposal. He'd have to move carefully, and observe. "I hope we have a good match together. I look forward to learning from you." He began moving slowly, pacing to the right, hiding his hand as it slowly withdrew and revealed the blaster hidden within his body.
With a sudden jolt he brought his arm off and fired off a swift blast of bright green energy. Hoping to catch his opponent off guard. The crowd cheered, the match was on.
Patchwork will kick things off with a blast from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Railgun (2KP, 40% | 13'600)
(Super excited to be facing you. Let's have some fun!)
Some time had passed, and though Chomei’s earlier wounds still ached… He felt pumped, having been given a chance to redeem his pathetic display. He’d had an idea brewing, for what he’d do after this tournament was all said and done. Losing quite handily, before a grand audience TWICE, would not give him great future prospects in that endeavor. He walked onto the stage slowly, only moments before Patch, and stood waiting for him.
He hadn't watched any of the other fights since he’d woken up, apart from Jackie’s… so he didn't recognise his mechanical opponent. He could tell through primal instinct alone that he was powerful… Maybe not quite on his level, but near enough that it didn't truly matter. He appeared slightly disheveled, having some pieces of metal hastily welded for this very match. Chomei felt a pang of sadness, seeing that. If he was going to fight someone, he’d have preferred them at their best; It didn't seem right to beat up on someone already beat up.
Patch spoke to him, and he nodded in recognition. Silencing his complaints, he raised his arms and entered into the Dragon Stance. “And I you, android,” He replied. Despite his regret at the circumstances, Chomei refused to show any pity… For that would only dishonor his foe—He would instead lash out with the entirety of his strength.
With a blitzing rush of light, Patch fired a blast of energy right towards him. Chomei breathed sharply, winding his right arm back. With a ferocious yell, he struck out at the energy bolt, crashing his arm through the mass of green plasma. His clawed hand emerged out the other end, just as the residual energies exploded off of his forearm. He showed no outward reaction to this other than a confident smirk, and as the smoke dissipated, it was revealed that his arm remained nearly unharmed. He flexed his hand, opening and closing it, showing this to Patch.
After a moment of silence, he quickly ducked back into his stance, and blaster forward towards the android. “Let's see what you’ve got, kid!” He yelled, just as he unleashed a ferocious melee assault on his robotic opponent. Claws, Elbows, Knees… a twister of violent attacks!

If the lack of damage to Chomei had shaken the Android, he didn't show it on his face. His neutral expression not shifting an inch as his arm returned to normal. He knew he'd be facing strong opponents in this tournament. And his bout with Russ had shattered any illusions that this would be some sort of easy ride. So he made a quick note in his file on Chomei readied himself for what to come next.
What was to come next was in fact a flurry of savage blows from his opponent. Kicks, punches, claws and more. It would be difficult for an Earthling to keep up with, but Patch was not an Earthling, and his recent experiences had helped to fine-tune his computerised reactions. The crowd was sure to get a good show as Chomei's attacks were blocked, dodged and parried as the pair moved across the arena floor.
Then a potential opportunity presented itself. A possible gap in the flurry of attacks that Patch could exploit. He honed in on it, locked on and then locked his foot to the arena and swiveled on his knee joint, trying to force Chomei off balance as the android began battering the Earthling's back with his own combination of precise punches and kicks.
Patchwork will stay on the offensive with a Scrapyard Combo (1KP, 20% | 6'800)
Chomei felt his excitement growing as his robotic opponent deflected and dodged his savage blows, doing so with an almost mechanical precision. Uh… Well, he supposed that was expected… given that he was an android. Chomei had never fought a robot before, so he was eager to find out just how far the android could push him.
He could feel the rumbling of the crowd's ecstatic cheering increase as their exchange began to grow in pace and intensity. And suddenly… as he reeled an arm back to strike at the android once more… Patch suddenly lashed out, striking him squarely across the cheek. He recoiled back slightly, falling into a defensive stance as the mechanical being lashed out with a flurry of blows.
Patches blows struck him all over, even despite his attempts to deflect them safely away. He huffed gruffly, leaping back and putting some distance between the two, and raising his Dragon Stance once more. For a moment, Chomei stared warily at his robotic foe. His defensive technique had failed him, having been easily pierced by the android. For to have happened… He figured Patch was either very perceptive or far stronger than Chomei gave him credit for.
He clenched his hands, refocusing his attention. Regardless of how he’d done it, Chomei would simply have to deal with it. Feeling Dragon Force coursing through him, Chomei let out a ferocious yell, rapidly bashing the thin air before him with his palms. He sent out a whirlwind of shockwaves, hoping to wear down and batter the droid from afar.
Notes: Chomei takes Patches full sudden attack, surprised at how easily his defenses had been punctured. He then sends a bunch of non-KP shockwaves hurtling at Patch.

That had gotten his opponent's attention, which was good. It meant that Chomei wasn't just toying with Patch and had actually been somewhat caught off guard by the sudden strike. There was a brief reprieve as both fighters stared each other down for a moment. Patch took a moment to analyse his opponent's stance as Chomei returned to it. It was interesting, almost bestial but definitely refined. Cunning and clever in its own way, certainly more than raw force. He'd be interested to learn more.
Now was not the time for such things however. There was another grand hollering from the crowd as Chomei began striking the air with such force that it barreled into the Android with considerable impact. Another fighter might've been knocked off their feet by the sheer impact, but Patch had a robotic anatomy. With a loud KERCHUNK he planted his feet into the arena floor, raising his arms to take the force from the air, each impact ringing out with a loud metallic PANG as it impacted his frame.
Slowly he lifted a foot, part of the arena coming up with it, before planting it down again in front of him. He did the same with the other foot, slowly advancing on his opponent until the barrage of air let up.
The hail of wind blasts didn't stop entirely, but there was some gaps appearing within the storm. A gap that the Android could exploit. Planting one foot in the arena he swiveled on his knee joint and lunged, a piston charged punch heading straight for his opponent's chest.
Patchwork will retort to the barrage of shockwaves with a Free Technique from Locked and Loaded (0KP, 30%, 10'200) flavoured as a sudden strike to the chest.
(I had forgotten to update my general traits in a previous post. I have rectified this now. If there is a dispute I will happily go forward without the change.)
The first of Chomei’s invisible barrage struck true, lurching his robotic foe back from where he stood. He grinned slightly, excited at having finally achieved a clean blow. A moment later, and with mechanical efficiency, Patch reacted—His body whirring mechanically as he planted his feet firmly back onto the white stone below. Like a gong being rung fervently, The android took shockwave after shockwave, the sound echoing through the arena as he began taking step after step toward the Dragon. Exhaling, he kept his barrage up as the robot neared. He knew Patch was relatively perceptive… he’d been able to see a weakness in his stance earlier, after all. As the metallic warrior approached, Chomei let his technique become flimsy in brief intervals, hoping the android would strike at him then.
They stood nearly a meter apart now, and after what seemed minutes of a tense standoff—Chomei battering at the arms of his cybernetic opponent, Patch lunged forward… right at an opening he’d created. He’d have laughed in excitement, had his martial artist instincts not immediately kicked in.
“HAAAH!!!” With a barbarous roar, his power suddenly surged, and he slammed his palm straight into Patch’s arm, slapping it aside with all the strength he could muster. He didn't let up though, he unleashed a barrage of blows, hoping to use the finite opportunity his sudden counterattack may bring to wear Patch down before he was able to recover fully.

A blunder? An error? No, indeed it was a trap. An intentional trick, a false gap in the defense that the Android had fallen for hook, line and sinker. And he had paid for it. Time seemed to slow as Chomei's palm came hurtling towards Patch's arm.
Hello! It appears you are engaging in high-stakes combat! Would you like to activate Overclock Protocol? Y/N
The Overclock protocol, that strange surge of power that had occurred when Russ had almost cut him in half. Patch still wasn't sure how it worked. Which file it was buried away in, but right now he didn't have time for questions. He selected yes within the confines of his own mind, and as Chomei struck his arm. The sound of metal would ring out, but soon be joined by howling wind that blasted around the pair. Any in the audience using an electronic device would notice it flicker and go static for a brief moment.
Visually, Patch was no different, but Chomei would be able to feel the extra heat flowing off his opponent's metal frame. Within moments Patch would grab Chomei's arm and swivel around on the elbow joint, attempting to kick the Earthling straight in the head with the heel of his boot. With the extra power coursing through him, it was sure to be a doozy. Unless Chomei had something tucked up his sleeve.
Patchwork is going to activate Overclock and enter his x5 Transformation. Due to Metamorphosis he keeps his currently held momentum. He will then attack Chomei with a Power-Boosted Scrapyard Combo (1KP, 1MP, 20% 30% | 51'000)
Chomei’s ferocious palm launched toward his opponent, landing solidly with a resounding thud that echoed throughout the arena. But even as he felt his hand connect, his primal instincts flared in warning all throughout his body. He could tell something had changed within Patch, and was beginning to pull away when an explosion of heat and steam rushed over him.
He clenched his teeth, weathering the elements as Patch began his counterstroke. Chomei wouldn't let him have it that easily. Inhaling sharply, his skin began to redden, a soft fog now rolling off of his skin, and being dragged away on the currents of Patches own steam. He felt his blood boil as he clenched his fists, feeling Patch’s grip on his arm. His teeth gnashed against one another as he hunkered down in place. He could the Android’s kick land solidly in his side, but he’d braced himself against it. It still stung, but not so much that he couldn't immediately respond.
A soft growl left his lips as he suddenly swung with all his might, his movements causing gales of wind to erupt out and buffet the entire arena. His stomps toward Patch shook the ground, and he could feel his overwhelming strength in every attack he sent spiraling at the mechanical being. He pushed himself further, throwing everything into this sudden melee. The almighty might of the Dragon Rush!

A solid blow struck, but it seemed his opponent was willing to grit his teeth and take it. That wasn't a good sign. If Chomei could just holdfast through Patch's power then things were looking very grim for the mechanical warrior. It was a good reminder of the willpower that organics could hold however, a reminder of how much Patch admired them.
He wouldn't have much time to admire in the next few seconds. After his kick had landed he had leapt back a few metres from his opponent to take stock and run a quick diagnostic of his own power. And it seemed the Earthling wasn't going to sit there and lick his wounds.
The heat radiating from the arena was palpable. Had Patch been organic he'd likely be sweating profusely at this point. The tension hung in the air for a moment until Chomei changed that. Chomei charged.
There was something about the warrior that seemingly scrambled Patch's internal scouter. So he had no accurate reading on how much power Chomei was radiating with, but he still had ocular sensors, and he could tell that something big was coming, and he needed to respond in turn.
Heat vents along Patch's back and arms opened up, and the hot wind surrounding both fighters started to get drawn into his body. His oculars switched colours to a warm orange glow as Chomei impacted.
All Patch could do was bring his arms up and try to muster his shielding. Yet even his advanced technology could only do so much against such a mighty blow. His shielding fizzled out and his arms became dented, the scrappy right arm even had a few bits and pieces fall off of it. The sound was immense, and rung out all along the arena. Even still, the hot air was becoming superheated, and Patch's reactor was running very hot.
They remained there for a moment, arms locked as the Android looked up. His oculars meeting Chomei's eyes. "I hope I have the opportunity to learn from you one day." His tone was still flat and robotic, but his face gave off sincerity.
In the next moment Patch would drop his guard and kick Chomei's leg, hopefully causing the other man to stumble as the Android spun around to place themselves behind him. Patch raised his hands as the blazing light from within started to emerge.
Then the superheated air shot forward, catching Chomei in a wave of orange energy. The blaze surrounding the draconic warrior.
Patchwork is going to activate a Transformation Boost increasing his modifier to x6. He is then going to use a Free Defensive Technique from Locked and Loaded (0KP, 30%, 61'200) in order to reduce some of the incoming damage from Dragon Rush however he still takes 61% damage straight to the face.
Patchwork will then use a Power Boosted Scrapheap Blast (4kp, 70% 80% | 163'200) He will fire this at Chomei with intent to crit. (Damage Potential 139%)
Chomei’s first fist struck with a resounding echo. It rebounded off of some sort of shield, though, that didn't deter any further assaults from Chomei. He struck the barrier with all his might, with increasing speed and ferocity. He felt cracks spread through its pale transparent surface, and eventually, felt his palm flow throw it as it crumbled beneath his almighty assault. He noted pieces falling off of the android, the various dents piling up all over his robotic frame. But even as his assault continued, Patch still had that look of mechanical neutrality. He looked up slowly as he weathered Chomei’s remaining assault and spoke calmly.
It was a cryptic thing to hear, once you’d started to believe that you had the upper hand. He swung one more time, hoping to slam his palm into the side of Patch’s head, but it seemed his opponent had analyzed him enough to know exactly what was coming. He dropped down, dodging Chomei’s strike, before knocking him off balance with a clean strike to one of his legs.
He grimaced, attempting to regain his bearings, and only just barely noticing Patch’s growing power. He glanced at the android, but he had already disappeared from view. He felt something hot behind him, and all he could do was brace himself as an enormous shock rippled through his body. He was shot across the remaining length of arena, into the blue grass, and landed with a resounding boom. All he could see for a brief moment was black, but eventually, he stumbled back up to his feet, bloody and bruised, noticing finally where he’d landed. Damn, he thought sadly. Twice in one day! Despite his quiet somberness, Patch had won, plain and simple. Chomei was beginning to think he wasn't made for these types of tournaments. He'd lost far too often for his own liking. Still, he dusted himself off and grinned at the Android. “Congrats champ!” He said, climbing back onto the stage. “You’ve got a keen eye… Though, now that you’ve beat me, you’d better win this thing, alright?” He reached out to shake his opponent's hand.
“Also… If you ever want a rematch… or to ‘learn’ from me, I’ll be in North City, on Earth” He said. Whether or not the handshake was taken, he’d eventually turn from Patch, and walk off into the waiting area to gather his things. He’d enjoyed his time on Namek, even if it was full of losses. He only hoped that Jackie would finish up with her matches soon, so he could finally go home.
There was a few seconds of absolute silence before Chomei rose to his feet. The crowd getting an idea of what had just transpired. The final moments of the match had been so rapid and shocking, everyone was a tad confused. Soon enough though they erupted into applause and cheering. For both contenders. Patch bowed respectfully and returned to normal power as Chomei stepped back onto the stage.
The Android stood and shook the Earthling's hand firmly, isolating Chomei's voice so that he could hear him properly over the raucous crowd. Hearing his offer of a rematch and training Patch gave another valiant attempt at a smile. "I will be returning to Earth soon, so I will definitely take you up on such a thing." He nods his head, pleased that Chomei didn't seem to bear him any ill will from the results of the match.
The Android would walk with the Warrior as they departed the arena. He would give the crowd a brief and tentative wave as well, to show them that he appreciated their support. It was an odd feeling to progress further into the loser's bracket. If one was to win such a thing, were they indeed a winner? Or were they winning the title of loser? He would need to ponder this come his next match.
One thing was for certain, he had learned much from this brief spar with Chomei.
Oh sweet, a decisive match! Those were always fun to witness. "So, there we have it, folks!" The crowd cheered, despite the match being short, it had a clear victor all the same.
"The winner by knockout, the tried and true tested steel that is Patchwork!" The crowd chanted Patchwork's name, congratulating him on the victory. "We can't forget his fearsome foe however!" The crowd also chanted Chomei's name, thanking him for putting up a good fight and showing off some cool moves!"A big round of applause for Chomei, the unwavering Dragon-style practitioner of Earth!" Once more, the crowd was utterly elated, cheering like mad, more than hyped for the next batch of fights in this new bracket!
Patchwork is the official the winner of this match, and will move on to the next round, whereas Chomei has been eliminated.
