The Imperial Open Top 8 Round - Mint VS Ward

He didn't know who exactly decided to hold this tournament but he didn't care. It was on Arcose and of course one of the strongest on Arcose was going to have to step forward. He needed to show the power of the Triumvirate. So with Ise not around, alongside Brumal not entering of course he was going to show his power. But there was something else he needed to do. He had heard about the actions of the Super Saiyan Lottus. Someone who had power that cannot be matched. He was going to need to test his powers. He needed to make sure he was still ready to keep Arcose safe and show his power to outsiders. If they thought they could take down the empire, then they might attack.

Mint stepped forward into the arena to face off with Ward. He was some Shinjin he had never heard of. But he had a feeling he was quite strong. And he made himself known as he smashed his foot down sending a burst of ki through the arena floor. Mint stepped to the side avoiding the ki. "Hmm, do you think I was not aware of your strength?" Mint would be planting his feet as he glared down at Ward. "I can't sense your ki but you're a Kai. I've been alive long enough to know your Kind are strong martial warriors. And you made it this far in this tournament? No, you can't be weak. So I won't hold back." Mint would raise his arms as ki surged off his arm. "Well we should not take any more time!" He'd raised his arm firing a ki blast at Ward!

"Alright, let's see what you got." Mint roared as the ki blasts sailed from his arms. But Mint attack was met by Ward's magical ability. Ward was able to form a magically stone wall that was able to take the impact of his ki blast. But not only was it able to absorb his ki blast it would reflect it back at him! "What the hell?" Mint yelled shocked by such a display. A magically stone wall absorbed his blast and sent it flying back at him so easily!? He would quickly kick off the ground dodging the attack.

However, as he was trying to run away there were the large stone arms shot out and grasped at his ankles. "Hmm, that is dangerous. I've not faced magic that often. But it should be a good chance to get a test myself! I'm sure you have an assortment of abilities to show me." Mint would struggle against the binds. These were quite interesting abilities. He didn't know much about magic, it was something that he couldn't solve with just pure force. At least this magic he could solve but it was going to take some time. Mint would begin to struggle to try to break the rock arms apart. Mint would bring his free arms back pulling them to fire a powerful blast of ki right towards Ward. He knew that he could probably control the arms to throw him around so he'd rather have Ward occupied by a large set of blasts.

This Shinjin truly had an assortment of abilities he had never fully seen before. He tried to break the arms around his legs but they were not going to fall apart that easily. He was really dealing with some tough magic. How frustrating. How was he going to get out of this? He felt his feet being dugged into the ground but he could at least keep himself above ground. The ki blasts he fired toward Ward were met by his own magic. Another set of arms he just decided to grow to help himself clash with his own blasts. It created one great explosion as he considered maybe he needed to transform. But decided to keep figuring out what this guy had up his sleeve before he used all his own tricks.

He'd glanced up as Ward dumped the wall toward him. Mint raised his fist using his Telekinetic abilities along with some ki to blast a hole in the middle of the wall. But the wall did slam into him as he did this. He slammed back to a knee as the wall crumbled around him. He'd spit some blood out glancing up at Ward. He'd then raised his arm to telekinetically lift the ground around Mint to float himself into the air. This would be used to rip the earthen hand off his legs as he raised himself into the air. Mint pulled back his right arm as he swung it forward. A beam of energy shot forward at Ward, more ki blasts? But this Ki blast would stop mid-air as he flicked a hand up. The beam would sail up past Ward and aim to fall down at him from above while Mint raced forward to whack him with his tail into the Ki blast!

'Those four arms.' As Mint raced forward he watched Ward form the massive ball in the air. It destroyed his own ki blast but it seemed to be made for a different purpose to be used later for some nefarious attack. That was going to be annoying to deal with but he'd find a way around it soon enough. As for his tail attack, he was met by the arms that knocked his tail to the ground smashing the rocks aside. "Heh." Mint was not about to retreat though. Instead, his body quickly grew in size as he swung an arm out to try to grab Ward by the face. Arcosian usually took a lot of time to transform but Mint quickly transitioned into his Brute form Doubling his already formidable strength. He would attempt to launch Ward away as he pulled back his right arm.

"I may not be able to sense ki but I can tell that attack is gonna be quite the handful. And at our current level, you had the advantage. So hope you don't mind if I step it up." It was a risk, Ward could power up into a higher state to hit him with a stronger attack. But that attack just now seemed quite powerful. He'd aim his fingers forward as a beam of energy shot out towards Ward. A Ray of Deadly energy to try to strike the center of his chest with an added kick of energy added to really deal some heavy damage to the Kai. But he had a feeling all this would do would draw out more of Ward's power. But, to do the same thing when it was not working? That would be a waste of time.

What was going on with Ward? His form was shifting? Something with his eyes. He didn’t bring his scouter with him for this occasion (in his mind the good fighter would just attack it and he had enough judgement sense to transform to an appropriate stage of power). Though right now he did wish he had the scouter. Because, something truly tremendous was going on. The beam that fired was meet by the orb he saved up earlier to stop his beam. When the dust settled on those attacks he could finally get a good look at Ward’s form. He had some sort of blue aura around his side. It must of been quite the power up. Guess he should transform pretty…

It was too fast for him to react too. Ward had formed a spear of energy. It smashed into Mint smashing him into the arena. He was laid the hell out by the blow flopping to the ground in sheer agony. What the hell was that? While he was not at max power, it was not like his eye was slower. That was something you didn’t lose between transformations. His bio gem wheezed in his chest. He felt a sharp pain that he not quite experienced in a long time. A vicious blue liquid dripped from the Bio Gem as he slowly got to his feet. As he did he’d stagger around a few times holding his face up towards Ward. “Ok..you have my attention.” His good eye blazed with rage and pain.

His hand would leave his bio gem covered in the viscous liquid which he threw to the ground. Mint would raise his arms and roar out “HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!” Mint aura bursted forward transforming himself into his final form. His power reached his upper limits, a power that he assumed was only surpassed by Lottus. He was unaware that in fact, many others had surpassed that limit and Ward standing before him had as well. He’d bring his arms back firing a twin blast of energy towards Ward before the Emperor took a knee holding his chest. ‘Fuck…he really did a number on me.’ Mint glanced at the Bio Gem and hissed in annoyance. A life threatening injury wouldn’t stop him.

This guy was deathly quiet. He was used to having a conversation while fighting. Everyone just loved to run their mouth. He had to admit he enjoyed doing that as well. But this Kai? No, he was watching carefully. Like a deadly hawk. It pissed him off but it also made him slightly afraid. Was he truly outmatched? He knew there was Lottus who was supposed to be stronger than him but this guy too? Was he that behind? That feeling only increased when the beams he fired were easily deflected by Ward across the battlefield. "!" He had not expected that at least so easily. He had to figure out his next plan.

And before he could roar out in anger, Ward leaped forward crashing down on his bio gem with his foot. Mint coughed out blood flying from his mouth. He felt his Bio Gem crack even more in pain. "So you see a weak point and you wanna target it...It is not going to be that easy." Mint wheezed in pain as he tried to grab onto Ward's ankle with his right arm. "But now you're in pretty close range. So let's see how you handle this." Mint raised his free arm aiming his fingers right between the eyes of Ward. He would unleash another death beam at Ward. He could try using a stronger attack but he wanted to save his energy. The only way he was going to win this was by saving his strongest attacks for when Ward left himself open.
