"Well OF COURSE it didn't. The energy buffers were made to withstand, at absolute maximum, an Arcosian's level of power. You banana-haired numpties exceeding that by more than double? It's a miracle it actually lived long enough to activate... though I'm glad it did. Every leg up against Lottus was a valuable one." Ha, upgrade. "A tristeel or Katchin alloy with compacted energy interfacing might be enough to withstand that much juice blasting through it all at once continually, but I've never been the type to make shit that lunches people automatically anyway. My armor an amplifier for my magic and hardlight." Punching someone to death was still a viable option if need be.
"Yeah, Saiyans probably aren't special snowflakes, sorry to say. Whether or not other species have the dormant power of that golden glow is another matter. Being able to fight a Super Saiyan is one thing. Being able to defeat them is another." And Amara had never been good at doing the latter. She was blazingly fast and had a wide array of excellent support tools, but struggled with dealing meaningful damage.
"Hungry, huh?" A mechanical arm slid from the ceiling, offering a comically sized cheeseburger to Nasu. "I wouldn't worry to much about that. Just keep training to improve your resting battle power. That form seems like a multiplier and not some set number you can switch to on a whim."
He was not sure if it was as big as his weapon was, but damn was that not a massive burger. Truly a humongous masterpiece of bread, fat and whatever else was in that meal. Of course when the chance had presented itself to Nasu, he took it and, without hesitation, shoved a good bite down his mouth and downed it, much like a wolf would gorge on its prey’s remains.
Amara also introduced the notion that it was pretty much a multiplier. That much he could see, he felt stronger than the last time he fought bathed in its golden power, so that was definitely it. He shared the feeling, however he was still worried over how much he could keep up the Super Saiyan.
“Definitely. Also damn this is good.”
He commented shortly on the food, before he resumed absolutely devouring the food. He pulled out some tissues from his clothes to make sure he was not dirty whatsoever and wiped any remains off his features.
“As I was saying. Yeah, but the toll on my stamina is not something I like. I do not know who can put up a long fight against a Super Saiyan, but I will just have to make sure I can stay transformed for as much time as possible. And train while I am at it, too. Better get to greater heights as soon as possible.”
Nasu let out a lengthy sigh, relieved and also with a full stomach, for now.
“I do hope we are not special. I am quite certain we will see more ascensions, from more different kinds of people across the galaxy. To what extent they can ascend, however, is surely another matter. We have seen it with the Arcosians, right? For a while they have had the highest power I had ever seen. I can only assume not all other people can power up to the same extent a Super Saiyan could… just like I assume others might even be able to surpass that power.”
For a moment he grew concerned about what a Super Arcosian could possibly look like, but he did not give it much thought and in the end, he just shrugged it off. If that ever happened and they were a threat to others, they would deal with it in one way or another.
"You wanna napkin with that, or...?" Ah whatever. Guy earned the right to sloppily eat a burger. "Got it imported special." Not for him, but the circumstances seemed appropriate. Godlike power at the cost of a delicious meal. An array of temporary holo-screens displayed an absolutely staggering amount of information, all encoded in Ithkuil - even if Nasu had the knowledge she did, he wouldn't be able to make heads or tails of the odd, winding characters. "These results imply that... it's some sort of natural power. Dormant potential that was only unleashed due to extreme stress once your cells could actually handle it. Oh - mixing some knowledge gleaned from the blood samples taken from Hatchi into this Ki, just so you have context."
It had weird ramifications. "And, no offense, but on your own, you aren't that special. Not even 'pure'-blooded. Arcosian level of powers is one thing. They purposefully indulged in strange mutations in strength. Lots of uncomfortable eugenics and DNA manipulation over centuries of work. Yet... every Saiyan could become a Super Saiyan. Probably won't, but COULD. That's insane." Amara frowned, tapping her chin. "And I can't exactly go around checking for similar potential in every other species. There's a reason nobody has uncovered this in recent times, even with all the nutcases making Bio-Androids. It's... basically invisible, up until the power is cracked open."
Amara blinked, shaking her head: "Ah, no. You can go if you want. I'm just rambling."
The man blinked shortly when she revealed some kind of information about the power. There were of course a few keys to be comprehended, but Nasu expected a different kind of info. Maybe if there was something more to the power than just being power, but he figured it was useful nevertheless. He waited and somewhat tried to make heads of it, and nodded, somewhat.
“So that would explain why we never reached it before. We need to reach a certain level of strength.”
He did not actually believe his anger was what pushed him towards the form. He had been that angry before, just like when he was made to watch while his family was getting butchered. In the end it was a mixture of things; anger, despair and love all created a storm inside his heart at the time and all he did was ride the storm. Albeit with considerable care.
“It is certainly that. A couple of things pushed me to keep fighting; the overall stress of the situation, that girl literally drank Destron and we were losing. I was going to lose everything again, but Cheri’s words spurred me to keep fighting. When it gets to you, the power that surged, I feel like as long as you have the strength to wield it, you can indeed ascend.”
Nasu chuckled. He knew she was talking about his kin in general, but he did not see being a pureblood as a benefit.
“We are not special. But I will have to say being a pure blood does not do much. I would know since dragon blood should be running through my veins, but I do not feel any less for it. Albeit it is a very small fraction, it was my grandmother’s.”
Bio… what? He did not even know what those were, even if he met a few definitely. Of course, though, his concerns were slowly building up now; he had a few places to hit up, and Cheri to check up on. He could only hope everything else was fine and that as many people returned from the evacuation as possible.
“Very well. You will have my sword if you need help one day. For now I need to go and get some fresh air. Take care.”
He said goodbye properly and now with his mind enlightened and his body filled with burger, he could go on with his life and turn over a new chapter. Not a blank one, for it would be stained by the events of this invasion, but it was a new moon regardless.
