Sunday Driver (Open)

“Hey wait! What’s happening to you all of a sudden?”

That strange creature really was full of surprises. First he was green, the next second he was turning red. It appeared pretty painful, too, seeing how he roared as it happened. Through some strange magic, the ground around him was collapsing and he felt some similarities to some technique his family used. If this hunch of his was right, he’d have to be careful. There was no way this strange alien could perform the Unleashed Spirit technique! Even Dosu couldn’t and besides, it was a well-kept secret among his tribe.

“Powered up? Not holding back? Sounds like a load of crap to me! I’ll put you down all the same!”

He kept up his bravado, but his face suddenly changed when the Saibaman charged him at ridiculous speed. It wasn’t anything flashy, simply the raw output of his power was far greater than previously by some order of magnitude! His instincts kicked in immediately and as Ban was about to strike him, the Heran barely shielded himself, the impact sending him flying away several meters, towards the onlookers. He felt the weight of his strike as his arms remained shaky for a second, the strain on his muscles causing some light spasms.

He eyed the crowd forming on the side, all witnesses to the event that was unfolding. That was his chance. Given his earlier speech, Saiba-Ban didn’t appear to be the kind that wanted unnecessary deaths. The Heran would use it against him.

“Are you good at hide and seek?”

He darted towards the crowd, causing panic among the ranks. Using the commotion to his advantage, making himself small and hiding as best as he could for the moment. The crowd would eventually disperse, but for the moment, he was still able to hide pretty well.

If everything went well, he would get away with them by staying under the radar. If he was found out, then he had plenty of material to work with. Human lives, that is.

The crowd had started dividing into multiple smaller groups. Still packed together, but clearing incredibly fast. For the moment, he appeared to have successfully hidden among the crowd. Making himself small enough and moving fast while dodging people as he weaved between them. The threats of that small Alien appeared very real to the Heran, but exposing himself was clearly not one of his options. If he was to die, these people would also have to pay for it.

The thing was that Dosu did not go out of his way to hurt people for no reason. In his tribe, violence always served a purpose. To feed himself, eliminate a threat, ensuring his survival or his people’s safety. He took no joy in it, but at the same time, he had no remorse for using people and taking their lives if it meant he could satisfy his needs.

A strange aura of magic surrounded Saiba-Ban as he counted down, planning to blow up the entire place down to smoke him out. What Dosu needed, in that instant, was to make a diversion. He picked up a small rock, targeted a person in the pack opposite of him and flicked it precisely, in-between people in a perfect trajectory. It landed on its target, striking them across the head and making them fall to the ground. Shortly after, people started screaming and causing a commotion. Whether they were alive or dead didn’t matter to the Heran who followed his own group, getting away from the scene.

However, going against his better judgment, he found somewhere to hide from sight, where he could still watch Saiba-Ban and what he was about to do. While his power freaked Dosu out, the creature didn’t appear to have any killing intent. Almost as though he simply wanted to capture him alive or something. Just what was he about, exactly?

The Heran observed for a while, wondering what the green now red creature would do. Still searching for him, he wouldn’t seem to lower his guard, properly thinking that the threat was still nearby. Which wasn’t wrong. Maybe if he waited longer, it would cement the idea that Dosu was gone and he’d be open for an attack. That’s why he waited.

Seeing that Saiba-Ban didn’t appear to be willing to kill meant that Dosu felt much safer then in a real life or death scenario, which in turn prompted him to be a little more reckless with his actions. Using his stealth to his advantage in this urban jungle, he had a pretty good feeling that he could do some lasting damage should he manage to get a cheap shot on the saibaman.

However, as much as he waited, no opportunity really presented itself and, quite frankly, he didn’t want to risk it for nothing. He knew he risked being searched and chased across the planet, but with no way out, he had no real choice aside from waiting and hiding. First and foremost, getting out of the city was his next move. After that, he would probably hide in the jungle for some time until tension died down after which he’d be able to move more freely.

As he left the area, he kept a mental note to himself to watch out for that green guy. Should they face again, he’d try and become the hunter, not the prey.
