Celerous liked Mount Paozu. It was peaceful and isolated, lacking the urban nightmare that was suburbs and metropolitan districts. Which meant it also lacked people, and most importantly, pollution. It was the closest the Earth came to being, well, pure and pristine. In a way, it reminded the young hybrid of Namek's untouched beauty. What the Earth could have been, had it been preserved, instead of torn up in humanity's quest for economic power.
That wasn't to say that Celerous disliked modern amenities. He drove a truck, ran a tractor, had a spaceship. He couldn't imagine running the farm without modern irrigation tools, like sprinklers. Having air conditioning in the house was nice too.
It was just a shame that in order to have those things, the planet had to be disturbed and torn apart. Clear blue waters and green grass would always be a prettier sight than the concrete jungles of civilization. Perhaps that was why Celerous often found himself drawn to this place, where he could just... get away from all of that. It was the only spot on Earth where he could actually meditate successfully.
He was sat on a rock near a small pond, doing just that: clearing his mind and embracing peace. It was usually a difficult task for Cel, to empty his mind while being idle. He could do it just fine while he was training, or even when he was working the fields. But when he actually sat down, doing nothing, and tried to meditate... well, he usually found himself dozing off instead.
Except here. Something about this place was different. Maybe it was the sound of nature all around him, or the fresh air and open sky. Maybe it was the lack of societal responsibilities. Either way, Celerous supposed it didn't really matter why Mount Paozu was so different for him. Instead of questioning it, he chose to embrace it. Not every question needed an answer.
He wouldn't have minded a chair or something, though. The rock wasn't exactly the most comfortable place to sit. But sit he did, undisturbed, and unaware of his general surroundings. Maybe that ought to have worried him, to have let go of his perception of his surroundings, but nobody was going to be hanging around Mount Paozu.
Right?
