And the Night was Renewed

Turning to pick up something of interest, Kamae was suddenly beset by water, and the demon felt his whole body stiffen in response. It wasn't cold that got him doing such, it was simply the fact water had been thrown upon his person. He wasn't soaked, but he was certainly drizzled in sea water now. Slowly rising up, shaking his arms to throw water off his coat, the demon was then greeted by a woman getting out of her escape pod. Another saiyan it seemed, one that Kamae didn't know.

Not that he knew many saiyans anyways, but the point remained. As he adjusted his clothing and shook excess water off himself, the demon simply chuckled his amusement. He was in a good mood, so simply destroying someone who had arrived was not something he felt like doing. The woman had indeed NOT landed on him, so he supposed the silver lining was he didn't have to deal with that. The clones continued to work while the demon got ready to greet the new guest.

"Aye, this is namek. I'm assuming you are a saiyan by your armor. Names Kamae Ghoun, demonic scientist and scourge depending on who you ask."

Kamae simply bowed in a graceful manner, one hand across his stomach, the other behind his back. After a brief bow, he placed his hands on his hips while he looked the other over. 

"I'm afraid you've picked a rather boring world. Its terribly dull, the locals hate outsiders... for good reasons of course, and they are as passive as rabbits. The locals I mean, not the outsiders who make it their duty to protect it. Key difference there."

Kamae winked the last bit before returning his attention to the dig site, one of his clones lifting a rainbow orb up which shone like a star in the many suns of namek. A quick toss landed it in his hands, where the demon simply smiled that broken grin of malice and vile intent. He didn't know what it was, but it gave off a rather sinister feeling. A seed of the Akshaya Vata perhaps? Or perhaps it was something more? Or maybe just a shiny rock... he didn't know yet.

Kamae tilted his head in curiousity of her words about having titles she did not enjoy sharing. He supposed it was probably degrading titles but they were not his concern. He simply brushed it aside, not wishing to cause distress or problems. The woman then went on to speak of a ship, one that was apparently in this sector but was being hunted. So she was after something, or someone? He guessed it was a good a reason as any to seek out this back water world, and its mundane views. 

"I see. If You wish, I could tell you what I know... for a price of course. You ask me a question and I will answer honestly. I ask you one in return and expect honesty. A deal if you will."

Kamae was a deal maker, one who loved to do such exchanges. He also knew it was completely on faith, but he supposed next he could make a spell that bound each other in honor of the deal. A nice idea, one he would think on later.

"I always honor my word, and should I know them I will answer truthfully. A simple little exchange but fun nonetheless."

Kamae stated before taking a few steps forward, his twisted grin seeming to spread further across his face. It was a good way to test if a person was trustworthy or not he supposed as well. Then again he was just passing the time while his clones packed up their equipment. The gem in his hand still glowing brightly as it seemed to be getting stronger in its luminescence, glowing a rainbow of colors now.

Kamae placed a hand to his chin as he listened to his guest speak. At first she spoke of an arcosian, but then she went on to say the ship had been taken by pirates. Tilting his head slightly, the demon pondered why she was hunting this pirates. Was it because she had been ordered to capture them? No.. He highly doubted she gave a rats arse about the Arcosian or the fact it was stolen. No he suspected it was for another reason, perhaps something was on it or she wanted the ship itself for some reason. Whatever it was, Kamae didn't need to know that information. 

"I see..."

Kamae slowly began to pace as he thought about how he could assist the woman only to find the answer with a chuckle. Cold and malicious as ever, he knew just how to find the answer.

"I got an idea then. Just a moment."

With that the demon moved over to a nearby crate that had a few objects on it. After removing them, the demon pulled from the crate a small rock. No bigger than a pebble before he smashed it in his palm. Once it was a fine powder, he slowly moved over to flat land where he began to draw a symbol upon it.

"I think the best way to find the answer is to simply look where eyes cannot see."

Kamae stated as he finished drawing the symbol, a rune in his old tongue. Dusting his hands off, the demon moved onto the rune while he took his jacket off and tossed it onto a nearby table. His eyes tracing the rune as he prepared to use the spell.

"Now then, an imperial cruiser stolen by pirates off an Arcosian... Alright, lets just see what we can find then."

Kamae held his hand out from his sides slightly, palms upturned and feet together at the heels. His eyes closed while he concentrated on spreading his awareness further than ever before. The rune on the ground suddenly beginning to glow, the material he had used amplifying his magical powers to even greater heights. After a moment, the rune shown with a deep green glow, and from Kamae's eyes black tears began to run from them. His jagged mouth cracked even more, between his teeth black primordial magic began to flow down his jaw.

It wasn't long until his eyes snapped open and no iris could be seen. Only the black empty sockets, staring off into vacant space. His mind branching out like vines to common folk on the world, and then further off world. Like a smoothing vine, his magic arced outwards invisible to the naked eye but smoothing in its presence. It was not an invasive probing, but like a heavy blanket laid upon the mind. A small pressure on the mind as he simply searched for a single answer.

He searched planets far and wide before finally... He found it. In a sector not far from here in deep space and where it had been. As he brought his presence back in, the demon staggered from his trance after only a minute of searching. Bracing himself against a nearby crate, the demon shook his head as he recovered.

"Ahh that... that was a lot more stimulating than I original anticipated."

He felt dizzy as he was once more grounded to his body, his mind processing that vast store of knowledge he had just gotten. Almost all of it completely useless, simple conversations, ideas or memories of useless things. He knew where a lot of house keys were now at least. Not that he would ever use any of that information.

"It is in space, and it landed near Dend Capital... Information is there. It is currently traveling, but I could not determine where too. Here."

Kamae would reach for a piece of paper then, writing down the coordinates of its last known landing site and its last known location in space before taking a seat. His hand going to his head as he tried to stop the world from spinning. His other hand holding out the paper for Cato to come retrieve.

"Everything I just learned child. Just... let me rest a moment. I didn't expect such a disorienting effect."

With that, Kamae sat silently while trying to recover, waiting for Cato to take the information she sought after.

Kamae simply said nothing as he leaned back in his chair, head tilted back while a hand rested upon his face to block his eyes. His vision swam, his mind flooded with utterly garbage information and worthless banter. The problem with wide sweeping information sweeps for the demon was the fact his mind was so open to connections. Kamae maintained a constant connection with dozens of clones at one given time, like a hive mind but less focused on a singular unity. 

"Its fine child, I did this of my own accord. I do not expect more information, I simply wish to know basic things."

Kamae stated waving dismissively at her comment. He had probably helped her vastly more than she could him, but frankly Kamae just didn't feel like spying on namek. He already had to spy on Earth and Arcose, seeking information on a third planet was to much, even for an entity such as him.

"I simply wish to know the state of Plant. Its overall status and any relevant news regarding it. I know that it recently got a new ruler, and the war ended. But I have barely been able to- oh dear... ugh this feels awful. I uh, barely know the status of that world. I like to keep tabs on things everywhere if possible. Specifically I simply wish to know the name of the ruler and how relations between the tuffles along with the saiyans are. Nothing fancy."

Kamae stated, finally managing to sit up straight while he finally felt his mind settling down. His vision returned, and he could think without feeling as if he had a really bad song stuck in his head... except in this case the song was hundred of thousands of voices speaking shite about their daily lives that Kamae didn't care about.

Kamae sat silently as the woman spoke and didn't wish to interrupt. She spoke of the absent king, of how there was vultures apparently seeking to find opportunity. She then spoke of how she kept meeting new people stronger than she was, better and faster. How she had been the strongest in her neck of the woods, and that she couldn't challenge them in a hundred years made the demon snicker. He had a feeling Cato would be growing faster now that she was aware of the universe. It was how most people who were worthy enough to get his attention were. She would be strong soon enough, and another player to fight on the galactic stage. Such was the way of things...

"You sell yourself short. I am confident you have the potential to rise up and be as powerful as the rest of them."

Kamae's head was finally clearing up and he felt normal again. Processing vast quantities of information was a tasking effort, but thankfully Kamae was one of the few individuals who could. He still felt a little uneasy, but it wasn't going to stop him from functioning at least.

"As for Plant, I am sure they will find a solution sooner or later... Or not. Who knows. Civilizations don't last forever, especially one that antagonizes others as good as the saiyans. Plenty of sociopaths and psychos with power live within the saiyan empire... and plenty of power hungry people too. Arcose isn't really a problem the saiyans will need to worry about to much. Earth is as passive as a mouse, and will probably scavenge the remains of whatever is left. I'd say if you lot get a power hungry leader, it will ultimately be the saiyans invading again. No offense meant."

Kamae stated as he leaned over to grab a drink from the fridge, a simple water before tossing one to Cato. The demon rubbing his temples as he thought it over.

"Well... As you can tell, I am probably the last person who needs to speak about causing others problems ha!"

Kamae stated as he unscrewed the lid from his water and took a drink. The back of his hand used to wipe away the excess water along his jagged and broken mouth. He was a demon and looked the part. He was a monster after all, and had already decided his next move. Cato would probably end up fighting against Kamae some day, and he made no effort to try to pretend they would be friends. He wasn't going to try to recruit her as he had learned his lesson. 

Kamae stared off into space in thought as Cato spoke about earth and its people. She was dead on the mark, intelligent enough to see how it was remarkable they hadn't been conquered yet. Kamae knew why, because of all the protectors it had that were strong enough to wipe out an army. Plus Kamae lived there and anyone who dared to actually pose a threat was going to find a very pissed off demon digging out their intestines. While he didn't WANT to be actively protecting Earth, Kamae wasn't going to let someone destroy his precious lab.

"Earth has many powerful people to come running if someone shifts their feet the wrong way. They live to protect their world and the people on it. They are almost zealous and cultish like in their devotion. So much so its the perfect place to lay low without risking ones life."

A subtle hint there about where he lived, and where he hung out. He was able to hide so effectively because the people on the planet were so focused on outside threats, they didn't realize Kamae had literally set up shop under their capital city deep beneath the earth. 

"As for my stake in it all... I am simply a humble demon scientist. But if I had to choose... I'd say I live on earth and should earth be threatened. I'd defend it. Now lets say I didn't have a deal with someone on earth, I'd probably help whoever was willing to use my services. I hold no loyalties to anyone, unless it is someone I respect. Currently the only person I respect as a leader and obey... is Derry. The president of earth has shown me a great deal of consideration. A man truly worthy of respect, and one I would lend my considerable talents to. If Derry were not on earth, I wouldn't even lift a finger unless they threatened to destroy the world... Then I'd be a very angry man."

Kamae stated, taking a drink from his water while relaxing, enjoying the idle chatter. It was a pleasant exchange really, one that didn't hinge upon a grandness or anything. He was just... happy to talk. 

"What of you Cato? I assume you love or at the very least tolerate the saiyan empire."

Kamae didn't look at the saiyan as he spoke, but simply continued to watch out over the sea with idle enjoyment. He wasn't asking for information to use, but rather enjoying the time of relaxation given to him.
