A choking, acrid smoke filled Amara's lungs as she coughed in a futile attempt to expel the foul substance from her body. With every desperate breath, only more of the foul tar-laced burning cloud was taken in. It smelled faintly of spacefuel, clue to a leakage somewhere in the ship. Normally such a major issue would warrant immediate attention, but the rapidly flashing warning lights and blaring alarms took priority. Part of her ship had been blasted away already, the emergency sealant working overtime to keep the harsh vacuum of space from suffocating what little passengers remained aboard the escape craft. Amara's eyes watered as she stumbled forward, hacking and pounding her chest as she clutched the pilot's seat. Another Saiyan warrior, one of her crew and the one she knew the best, was seated there. The stretchy lip of his armor was pulled to cover his nose, though evident by the man's shaky demeanor he hadn't managed to escape the smothering smog either. "Tomay, we need to land NOW-" Interrupted by another harsh coughing fit, the other Saiyan kept his shaky grip as best he could on the control stick. "I'm trying my best, Commander, but our left flight stabilizers are shot and we're losing fuel fast. I don't know how much longer I can keep the ship together - let alone the prospect of landing it-" The entire vessel was rocked by a shudder as it dipped suddenly downwards, Tomay snarling as he fought against the controls to keep an even flight. "Our only chance is to go for a planet called 'Earth'. Its not listed as high priority on any of our databases but it houses intelligent lifeforms."
The name of the planet struck a distant chord of familiarity in the warrior but Amara didn't have the time to pause and ponder what it could mean. She nodded swiftly, copying Tomay's technique and lifting the edge of her armor to form a makeshift mask. "Do it then. We've no other option." With a pang of loss, her eyes swept across the ships interior at the three other remaining Saiyans. Five had either died on contact with the unknown enemy or suffocated from the smoke already. What would Father do in a situation like this...? Swallowing a small amount of bile with bitter resolved, Amara moved to near-gap in the ship, kneeling down next to Courne and moving to assist him on the upkeep of the seal. Amara was tempted to wave him away as this job was closest to the leaking fuel, and therefore the smoke - and Courne's gasping and shuddering body told her that he wasn't exactly in good condition. They needed every available hand, though, as much as it pained her. If they all didn't work until they physically couldn't, it was likely none of them would make it out. Her breathing steadied as much as it could, the 'Saiyan' lying prone as her fingers gripped an already lit repair tool.

It was early morning on a planet called Earth. A peaceful blue ball in the midst of a sea of stars that saw little strife throughout its' life, and that rang doubly true for the smaller clusters of islands to the far south. And yet breaching the otherwise cloudless crystal blue sky was a fiery speck - one that rapidly grew larger and larger. It wouldn't take a genius to recognize that something was crashing down from the heavens above, and quite close to a populated island at that. In the span of a lone fateful minute, it crashed. Not unto the island below but instead adjacent into the frothing waves a ways away. The hunk of space metal groaned audibly, shuddering as it slowly began to sink. A trail had leaked from the fuselage, a bright blue flame lighting the surface of the ocean in a ring shape around the vessel. Though this wasn't just an ordinary downed ship, if anyone was capable of sensing within...
