|Duties & Desires|
Tambo's PL: 5'000
Once again, trouble brewed on Namek. Once again, he had been inactive, avoiding the conflict. It was not his duty, to act and come to the defense of the planet. For generations, no, for as long as his bloodline existed, there were never an instance in which his predecessor had acted in such a manner. Then again, if not for the inner struggles among the clans and the desperate divide that was forming among his people, there were never reasons for their business. How many times had there been conflict, now? Three times, four times? In such a short time frame, too. Not that he should have cared, so long as he performed his duties. To further and maintain culture and tradition alive and intact, to make sure the pillars and temples were etched by his chisel, relating history and retelling epics of the namekian race throughout time as well as their relation to the divine Porunga.
As of lately, he had felt confused, uncertain about all of this. The level of detachment required to stay out of trouble had become too much for him to simply ignore. But again, this wasn’t his role and he was certainly no fighter. What’s more, he had taken an oath, to never bring harm to fellow kinsmen or any other living being. Yet, in spite of this, he wondered, if any of this was truly right. Many times, has he tried to call for peace, and that many times he was ignored. His reputation was one of respect yet held no weight on the politics of his people. Such a strange feeling, being torn between duties and desires.
He even began wondering if Shakuhachi’s speech was so wrong, after all. Not that he agreed, but in the face of repeated aggression on his homeworld, he began wondering, just wondering. Clearing his mind would be wise, he thought, as he landed near a village long deserted, the people having relocated after disaster struck it. Among these ruins stood the entrance to an underground temple, one that preceded his time. Maybe he needed a little faith boost of his own. As for the other matters, perhaps it would be wiser to leave it in the hands of the true heroes of Namek.
Seeing the dilapidated village was a strange sight, wondering if the whole of Namek would look like this if these enemies had actually succeeded in their assault on the planet. Though troubled, he walked towards the entrance of the temple, this one has stood the test of time. What would he find in it? Probably the same as always. Yet, he felt as though he needed it.
