Life.
The witch would give a nod with the singular word given, curiously enough the answer to the unsolved riddle left to silence. It was true, for any family it was a dire thing to lose a loved one. Celeste knew it well enough, having spent the last season losing so many of the bonds that once bid her return home. Ah, she could honestly stand here and entertain such thoughts all day were they not so suddenly pressed for time. There was a very long, very awkward pause before Celeste found herself chuckling again. She wasn’t certain whether the Rex was serious or not, but either way, she rather enjoyed the joke in the notion. Anyone was welcome to come and try. Yes, it was certainly possible for them to be happened upon by an eager younger warrior in training. Her eyes were sparkling as she shot the predator a rather sly grin.
”Oh yes. They have my greatest of sympathies. I simply can’t imagine.” Celeste let every word drip with equal parts sarcasm and malice. She loathed having to listen through the complaints of those blessed with much more simpler lives. Turning her back on the direction the farmers had fled, the witch made motion to gracefully walk across a nearby moderately sized log, before casually stepping off it in nonchalance. ”Not that this isn’t, well...intriguing,” Celeste started after another long moment of silence. ”But it was my understanding that you wished to make something of the time I’ve bought for yourself.”
A subtle nod was given toward the forest.
Thus, should the Rex decide to heed her suggestion, then Celeste would choose to follow out of mild curiosity if nothing else. So far, the hunter had proven herself a tad shade of impressive, yet it was something to keep Celeste’s attention at least. Playing along was better than boredom, or at the very worst – waiting along here on the roadside for more sullen scrappers to arrive. ”Though, perhaps you’ll indulge me a thought? It’s become painfully obvious to me, that you aren’t from around here either. So... tell me, how does it feel? Not belonging in a time or place that isn’t your own? It must be the greatest of pains!”
Celeste gave a long, theatrical sigh.
”However will you go on?”PL: 24,000 | Antisense: Inactive
