The Return

That’s right! Keep talkin’! Zerori thought as she watched the smoke swirl around the battlefield like a miasma, broken only by the subsequent slash of Blizzard’s blades as he came out like some sort of haunt from a horror movie. Honestly, she would have thought it was pretty cool if she weren’t so preoccupied by the fact that he was trying to beat their asses - and succeeding. Dahsing at her with his beam swords, Zerori had only a few seconds to prepare a spell with her power of the shadows - throwing an arm forward and summoning her Shadow Wall. Unfortunately, the power difference between the two of them and the lack of power she was able to push into the spell meant that her barrier was quickly taken down after the second slash.

When the third slash met no resistance to the barrier, it would pass right against her side and cut through the skin like butter. Thankfully, it was a lethal injury - the skin inadvertently cauterizing just like the others as Zerori skidded to a halt along the ground with pained cry. She brought a hand up to her side, the blood that did seep from her wound painting her fingers as she glared at Blizzard. “Tch… do you EVER shut up? What even IS Chess?! Sounds like a dumb game if you’re into it!” She scoffed, trying not to be affected by whatever else he was saying about her friend.

She didn’t understand why he was bringing up her friend being in the war, but Zerori hoped it didn’t mean that Zuqetta was getting trained by this guy. Hell, she wasn’t even sure what she interrupted but she was here and fighting and that’s all she cared about. “Was this your tactic? Talk my ear off while you swing your weapons around? Nice idea but anyone else would have finished me off before I had a chance to do THIS!” And with a roar, Zerori threw another blast at him but this one had OOMPH behind it, the dark red ball of energy rotating faster as it rushed at Blizzard.

Anxiously, Zerori chanced a glance back at Zuqetta - hoping she was ready to enact her plan already
