By the way Yakone seemed to drop to the ground, one would think he was punched right in the gut. The little hybrid flinched back, staring in horror for a brief second before rushing over to him, “Crap, are you okay?! You need, like, water or something-?!” She was just a hair's breadth away from materializing a bucket much in the same manner she’d done for Ise when Yakone seemed to come to his senses and rubbed the back of his head. When he seemed to be able to talk, his words felt a little off from the reaction she witnessed, “I… I mean, I can’t say he was a good guy but… yeah,” It felt conspiratory to agree with Yakone, even if it was the truth. Something felt wrong about telling him Amara was the killer but nothing pointed in the direction of Zerori having made a mistake. Not yet, anyway.
Likely as a way to change the subject, Yakone had asked about any place to grab a bite to eat to which Zerori had to pause a moment to think. Being half Saiyan, eating was a pretty big deal but most places she’d gone to had either resulted in disappointment (Saiba-dogs were pretty gross to her now) or they ended up not staying in business long.
She grimaced with a nervous expression, “Gonna be honest with you, my guy… not a lot of people I know of that cool real well. We could, like… try and catch my Mom and think she could cook us something nice but I haven’t- She’s not-” It was hard to get the words out, ‘It feels like she doesn’t want me around anymore’. It’s probably not true but Zerori was feeling pretty abandoned at this point. Zerori sighed, “She’s been busy. I’ve been busy, too, but that’s harder to explain. Look, why don’t we just kill somethin’ out here and eat that? As long as it ain’t a Saibaman, I’m down for, like… a dog or rabbit, y’know?”
Or even a fruit. Holy shit, I’m becoming a vegetarian. Wait, am I?! The confusion over whether a Saibaman was a meat or a vegetable continued...
