Well, crashing through a reinforced window wasn't nearly the most painful thing that had happened to her today. "Shitfuckgoddamn-!" Like an improvised bullet Azuki was rocketed from high into the air down to the streets below, hitting and skipping off the asphalt like a rock upon a lake. She tumbled wildly, crushing a (thankfully empty) car before finally flying through the front bay window of a nearby storefront. Groaning as her bruised and battered body SCREAMED at her to get up, Suki slowly pulled herself to her feet, head shaking off stray shards of glass and untangling stray clothes hangers from her limbs. The cashier had long since fled in terror from the scene, leaving her temporarily alone in the building. "Well this isn't working. What's the play here...?"

Apparently not stand in place. The telltale sizzling of another attack alerted Azuki a moment too late as another crimson orb FLEW through the opening she had made! The energy was comprised of a solid ball core with tendrils of power lashing out to form a translucent shell. It was called the something bomber, an apt name given that - once again - it EXPLODED in her face. Azuki threw her arms up to defend herself, blown back even further from the technique, and sent crashing through the back wall into the loading bay for the strip mall she'd found herself in. "Urgh..." Not being able to sense the energy of these big ass bombs didn't help in the slightest.

"At the very least we can say you're durable. Though smashing a rubber ball around for so long can get tiring, so it'd be appreciated if you either actually fought back or went ahead and deflated for me." Hovering above the buildings with his arms crossed was her current enemy. A red-haired android dressed in a black jumpsuit and boots with a tendency for arrogant sass and extreme violence. He had attacked her randomly during what was supposed to be a casual city outing and the two had been causing massive damage over the span of four blocks as the machine punted her around with IMMENSE power. In other worlds she was getting her ass kicked and Azuki was getting rather pissy about it.

"Alright Vista for brains, I'm DONE playing with you. You got enough warnings so don't cry when I rip your soldered arm off and use it to BEAT you to a scrappy pulp!" With a roar her power doubled as an intense shockwave emanated from Suki's core. The boost was enough to cause her assailant to take a defensive stance, smirk sliding into more of a concentrated frown. "Are you finally taking this seriously then? Good. Please be sure to provide sufficient data." She'd slingshot forward, rearing back a fist to deliver a powerful punch to the android's face, sending him tumbling back a bit through the air but otherwise not leaving him any worse for wear. "Let the games begin."

"I can't just stay away from something like this, Faith! They're trashing the city!"

This was supposed to be a nice day out for her and her Mom after all the trouble she had been through lately. They were going to get some nice new clothes and maybe even an ice cream. It was something that Tiara had been looking forward to all week. Then Faith had told her to stay away from an ongoing battle, and of course, that meant she had to rush straight towards it.

This might not be her home territory, but West City was still a beautiful place full of wonderful people, and it deserved her protection as much as Central City! This whole world needed people who were willing to stand up and defend it! She could already imagine how so many of her fellows had felt; suddenly beset by all this danger. What if one of them had gotten hurt, like she had, and they didn't have the brilliant Faith to put them back together again?

Tiara ran through the abandoned streets, the small mechanical cat that Faith used to keep in touch with her keeping pace along the way. "I'm telling you, Tiara, they're much stronger than you are! At your current level, you can't hope to defeat them!"

Tiara smiled at that, and closed her eyes briefly, "Ah, Faith. You're so smart, but sometimes... you miss the really obvious things! You just need to have... hope!"

This kind of chaos couldn't be allowed to continue uninterrupted, could it? And besides, what was the point of being given this power if she wasn't going to use it?

By the time she was leaping into the air, the girl's entire body was covered in brilliant sparkling energy, neatly obscuring her form. She twirled once, twice, three times as she flew, power surging from the soles of rocket boots formed by the power of the Infinite Hope Engine. Her prim and proper school uniform flowed into a magnificent bright pink dress, covered in ribbons and adornments. Her hand grasped her magical sceptre tight, and when she opened her eyes again, it was to look through the crackling blue electric visor and straight at the malevolent android.

Compared to both of the other fighters here, she looked... well, ridiculous. She was tiny, pink, and she had that great big glowing heart on her dress which really just seemed like a target more than anything else. She was also, however, entirely earnest, and the girl's expression showed real sternness - as though her disapproval alone might be enough of a force to take down the aggressor here.

"I am Pretty Sailor Memory!" She declared, twirling in the air once more to bring the sceptre forwards, pointing the heart at its top directly at the man in the bodysuit, "Surrender now, or I'll be forced to punish you! In the name of hope and peace! And for all the people whose lovely day of shopping you have totally ruined!"

Despite her increased power and initial strong hit, the fight was still not exactly going in Azuki's favor. The android was clearly a brilliant fighter, skills backing up the smug smirk he carried around. Each punch, kick, and bash was either blocked, deflected, or outright dodged as the two blitzed each other. "You're not going to hit me with that savage fighting 'style'." He commented idly, head leaning ever so slightly to avoid another straight punch. "But if you insist on being a brute, then so be it." He'd suddenly gain a massive amount of space, thrusting backward in the air as both palms went up. A solid wave of scarlet energy raced towards Azuki. Eyes widening she pooled her own Ki before slapping the attack away, redirecting it off and up into the sky.

"Is this your best effort? I mean that genuinely. Take this battle seriously or I may be forced to use more unsavory methods to get the results I require." Suki hissed in response, muscles tensing up as she stared the android down. She was a bit too angry at the moment, that was true. Her normal precision when using attacks had been replaced with a reckless abandon that made it near impossible to land an actual hit. "You know what? You're right." She replied slowly, taking in a deep breath. "...Pardon?" it seemed he hadn't been expecting actual agreement, the robot's limbs shifting ever so slightly. "SO HERE!" With an intense speed Azuki seemingly disappeared from where she was, appearing ABOVE her enemy to deliver a brutal dropkick that drove him into a human-shaped crater into the asphalt below!

He burst from the ground moments later, a begrudging smirk set on his face. "That's better. I am Android Four. And I am here to-" his monologue was interrupted by the arrival of a much smaller person - both in stature and battle power. Four and Suki turned their heads in sync towards Memory as she made her grand entrance, complete with speech and all. "Pretty? Pretty stupid seems more fitting considering the battle you're encroaching on. Begone." Another S.S. Bomber would be flung right for Memory, though Suki was quick to dive INTO the attack and send it flying into the ground below instead. "I appreciate the thought but I'm not sure how safe you'd be here, kid! I don't know how strong he is exactly but it's definitely WAY out of your league."

Sometimes, ignorance really is bliss. Memory had no idea what his strength was; or Suki's for that matter. She only knew that she was infinitely more powerful than she had ever dreamed possible in her life, and that power was growing every day as she gained more 'hope'. The sudden ki attack did take her by surprise, but Suki punched it away easily enough, and the girl actually smiled for the concern that the hybrid showed her.

She was used to people being worried about her. There had been plenty of that after the accident. She'd felt so weak, so helpless; it was impossible to think that she might feel that way again when she had all of this power surging within her!

"If you don't mind me saying, it looks like you're not having a very safe time either!" She declared, spinning her sceptre in her hand, "I didn't come to the battle looking to be safe! But if you can't beat him on your own, and I don't stand a chance, then we'll work together, okay?"

There wasn't really any dissuading Memory at this point. Being dismissed was a regular part of being a 'kid', and she figured that the best way to demonstrate that she could hold her own was to - well - demonstrate it. And without any further room for argument, she blasted in at top speed towards Android 4.

For all she might not look like a threat, there was no doubt that Memory had a surprisingly technically capable combat style. Faith had been pretty capable when it came to uploading fighter data into the girl's new android body, and whilst the blows themselves weren't particularly dangerous, she delivered them with a grace and poise that was missing from Asuki's more unrefined combat style.

Not that it mattered all that much. Flowing and elegant as her sweeping palm strikes and sudden, sharp baton-hits might be, she still genuinely could not land a blow on the far stronger android. Her brow furrowed as she kept trying to move with the momentum of the battle, but quite suddenly and with no warning - he changed the entire tempo. A single, powerful elbow crashing through her guard to impact the top of her skull and send the girl tumbling through the air to crater into the ground below.

"Pathetic."

Only... whilst that had hurt her, it clearly hadn't taken her out of the fight completely. The girl was already getting back up to her feet, her free hand rubbing at her hair and the point of impact. Ouch. That had been a bolt-rattling impact. But she's still smiling.

Because she'd managed to occupy his attention for valuable seconds, and she was sure that her new friend wasn't going to let those go to waste!

"Who says I can't beat him on my own!?" Azuki said defensively, glaring back at the antagonistic android. "I only started to GET REAL right about now!" Wasn't she forgetting something more pressing than some vague pride? Oh right. "Alright well I'm not your mom. Stay if you want but don't blame me if you end up getting hurt! So with that in mind, I think we should-" And there she went. Blasting off straight towards the guy. "YOU IDIOT-!" Though Azuki was rather miffed that she had ended up getting ignored entirely, the fighter's side of her saw the opportunity laid bare and didn't want it wasted. While Four was busy showing off to the teenager Azuki had circled around and above them, charging some sort of green orbs in her palms.

She winced slightly as Memory was driven into the ground like a golf stake, though Azuki would follow through with her attack by chucking both of the spheres at him. "Now then, what's your ally up to-" Four turned in time to see the pair of projectiles bearing down upon him, grunting as a makeshift barrier sprung up around his body. The first orb made contact and clashed fiercely against Four's defensive force, ultimately fizzling but not before it shattered his defenses in the process as the second followed through with a devastating blow. The resulting explosion kicked up a smoke cloud and obscured vision of the untraceable android... which proved to only benefit him.

"Behind you." Azuki would start to turn a moment too late as a heavy palm strike sent her flying into a nearby building, crashing through the upper story and disappearing temporarily into the floors below. Her attack had done some noticeable damage to the machine but Four was as energetic as ever. "Don't hope to outlast me now. Surely you know that my kind is fair more resilient than any of you can hope to be?" He'd turn his eyes to where Memory was last, attempting to locate the interloper now that Azuki was temporarily out of the picture.

Azuki could scold her along with Faith when the battle was over. Memory didn't mind. It was her body, and if she wanted to risk it all on foolishness, that was her choice! She had spent so long battling against the limits of weak and fallible flesh that the freedom to gamble it all on what she believed was just utterly wonderful. Even the pain that shocked through her when she impacted the ground was a gift; so much better than the cloying numbness which had spread through her limbs not so long ago.

Her smile only grew wider when she saw that Azuki had, indeed, taken advantage of that momentary distraction to charge her attack. And as he was forced to deal with the resultant green energy blast, Memory summoned her own in turn. Both hands came together in a heart shape at her stomach, then parted to her sides as she spun on her heels, shedding small pink sparkles as she went.

"Hooooooope!"

Both hands came back up above her head, reforming a heart shape with her arms. Shining pink power gathered, swelled, and erupted from her hands in the shape of an enormous pink heart rocketing up from the ground towards the evil android's feet.

"BUSTAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

Her attack may have had only a fraction of the strength of Azuki's, but the burst of power still demanded a response, and the girl raises two fingers up towards the sky in the classic 'peace' gesture as the cloud of smoke cleared.

She'd put an awful lot into that attack; but that was the wonderful thing about the Infinite Hope Engine. Whilst she was, momentarily, unable to focus more power, she wasn't fatigued in the least. The hope within her heart was already swirling and replenishing the energy as she demanded more and more from it. Her scuffed features smiled from ear to ear as the infuriated android glared down at her.

"There's nothing more resilient in all the universe than HOPE!" She declared, "No matter how impossible the odds might seem, we'll always fight! Because for you, this is only about selfishness! For us, it's about making sure there's a bright tomorrow for everyone!"

This was, of course, a ridiculous sentiment. She didn't know the first thing about what this guy was fighting for or why. Azuki either, for that matter. But she knew that he was the aggressor, and the fight was making life worse for the residents of West City; that was all she really needed to know.

"I don't know if I should be more offended if you thought that attack would do much, or at the very concept that I'm fighting some superpowered child who woke up on the wrong side of an anime." Memory's attack had landed of course, but it had only managed to tear a small section of Four's pants and leave behind some noticeable scuff marks. "I honestly haven't the slightest clue what you're babbling on about when it comes to hope and brighter tomorrows but I have a mission to fulfill and by the will of my creator I will see it done." Could a programmed, arguably sentient, being really be guilty of selfishness? "Either way I'd appreciate it if you would kindly stop." Four would crash to the ground and stalk over to Memory's resting point, attempting to lift the diminutive girl up by her neck.

"I don't know what third-rate scientist put you together but generally androids are founded on logic, not hope." If successful in his grapple attempt the red-haired menace would be to squeeze. "LET THE WEIRDO GO!" All of a sudden Azuki would appear back to the battle with a massive dropkick aimed at the evil android's back. Four's grip loosened as he tumbled with the blow, somersaulting into a standing position as he was forced back from the pair. "This seems to me that this battle is currently more of a desperate struggle than it is any sort of fight." Even with Memory's surprise assistance they weren't doing too well, evidenced by the damage difference between the two sides.

Two orbs of artificial Ki formed in Four's palms as he quickly slammed them into the cracked asphalt below, sending the energy cascading underground as beams and explosions resounded throughout the entire street. Quick on her feet, Azuki would attempt to grab Memory by her collar and fly straight up to relative safety in the air. "Yes keep running. Bring me back some fries while you're at it won't you?" Though his voice remained relatively monotone it was clear that Four was getting ever so slightly frustrated at their constant evasive tactics. "Stray too far and I might just have to start lobbing off shots towards the main city."

Memory WAS genuinely surprised that her attack hadn't managed at least a little more than that. When she'd tested out her powers under the supervision of Faith, that attack had taken out a sizeable chunk of mountainside. She'd expected to at least moderately inconvenience the android. But apparently he wasn't joking about the resilience of his own construction.

She's easily grabbed by the throat, one hand grasping tight to Four's wrist, whilst the other twirled the sceptre around in her hand and then jabbed it as hard as she could into his gut. That didn't do much, either. It was a good thing she didn't need to breathe, or this could be a really uncomfortable situation for her to be in!

"Logic... only exists... to be defied." She croaked, even as the bright blue energy that made up her visor fizzled and sparked alarmingly. Oh. Maybe there was some important hardware in her neck after all. That probably wasn't a good sign.

Hauled up into the air, she can only watch in growing horror as the infrastructure of the city is even more profoundly damaged by this malevolent machine. It was certainly true that the odds didn't look good. Her visor at least stabilised once the damage to her throat had stopped, and Pretty Sailor Memory forced herself to take a deep breath. Okay. Things were looking pretty grim. But they hadn't tried everything yet.

"I know you think I'm just a useless weirdo." She said, pulling herself from Azuki's grip, and reaching up to massage her neck. "But I promise, I'm not crazy."

She cracked her neck, and looked down at the devastation that had already been wrought. Then she looked right at Azuki. The much taller, much stronger, much more powerful and capable warrior. She wasn't smiling any more, but there was true sincerity in her tone as she continued. "... and I can't just run away. So. I've got one stupid plan, and one outrageous plan. If you've got a better idea, please, I'll follow your lead, Otherwise, I'm going to have to start with the stupid one, okay? And I'll fill you in as we go."

Whilst her words might have been ridiculously overblown, there could be no questioning Memory's commitment to the action. Even in the face of such overwhelming odds, and having taken two blows that would have killed her outright just a few short months ago, the girl refused to back down or even consider fleeing for a moment.

Such was the curse of Hope. Even in the face of all of this, she simply couldn't contemplate defeat; she would come out on top, because the world needed people like her to triumph over people like him. The alternative was that he'd continue to ravage cities as he pleased, and it'd be more than just herself and this other incredibly powerful warrior who would suffer; the ordinary people would take their place! And so long as she still had light in her chest, she could not allow that to happen.

With all said and done it wasn't like Azuki had been faring much better against Four either. Even a double Eraser Meteor had only done light damage to him and Memory's attack even less so. They'd need something BIG and POWERFUL to punch through the sheer durability the android possessed if they wanted to defeat him. Suki was tempted to go for a 'killing' blow if possible, though she new his kind hardly ever died from losing a single body. "Weird? Yes. Four kind of had a point about that anime thing. Useless? Well you're at least helping to distract him from doing this crazy shit elsewhere so for that I'll give you props. You got some real courage in that small package."

As for the whole planning thing... "Well it's probably better to work together from here on out. I do have A plan but I'm not sure you'd like it. There's this new technique I've been developing and... I think there's a strong chance it could be just what we need. The only problem being that I need TIME to prepare it. And it'd help to have someone else nearby who can feed into the attack once its ready to fire to maximize the output. So essentially you'd have to, well, keep him busy. By yourself. For not a short length of time either." It was a lot to ask of her especially considering that Memory hadn't done so well against him in the first place. "But I honestly think it's one of the best shots we have. The choice is yours if you want to take it."

"I have NO idea what you two are droning on about but if you continue to stall this examination I will make good on my promise, understand?" Four was still situated on the ground, staring up at the two. Perhaps this sudden lull wasn't necessarily mercy but some sort of forced grace period he was attempting to cover up? "And if you need it said more clearly," A small ball of crimson energy formed which was quickly flung into a nearby building, toppling the upper half with little effort. "Is that better?"

"Got it."

And that was all Memory needed to hear. That actually blended pretty well with her stupid idea. And wouldn't you know? Four gave her the perfect opportunity to put it into practice.

The moment the crimson ball was thrown, the girl burst into motion. The rockets at her feet flared bright to tear her across the sky fast enough to make the interception, and when she got there, both hands grasped the tiny orb tight. At first, it might seem that Memory had agreed to keep her fellow android busy only to throw her life away completely. But as she grit her teeth and strained, something very strange began to happen.

It wasn't a LOT of power. It certainly wasn't as serious as the S.S. Bombers that he'd been chucking around with impunity earlier. But even so, if he wanted data, here was some.

"You said something about data earlier, right?!" She shouted, "What does your data say about THIS?!"

It hurt to do this. It hurt far more than she had expected it would.

Half the world away, Faith's eyes widened at the readings that her computer showed. "No, no no no, Memory, you can't -- you'll burn yourself out!!"

Bright pink lightning crackled around the orb caught between her palms, and slowly the pure red power - devoid of any emotional content; as he'd said, it was just 'logic' that powered his own circuits - began to shimmer and shine. It lightened. The Infinite Hope Engine took that power, connected by the bright stones in the palms of her hands, and convered it into... Hope.

For a single shining instant the entire orb shone brilliant and pink between her palms, and then it was drawn into her, and the heart on her chest glowed even brighter than before. Smoke rose from the palms of her hands, and she stared down at him, a satisfied smile pulling onto her lips.

She reached up to snag the Rod of Hope from where it circled around her head, and pointed it at him in challenge, trying to hide the pain that now burned through every circuit in her body. The Infinite Hope Engine could indeed provide theoretically INFINITE power. It could also strengthen and reinforce her as it did; its limitations were not fully understood; might never BE fully understood.

But it couldn't do those things quickly. Nor had Memory begun to explore more than the very outer edges of its limits. Asking it to absorb that much energy that quickly was agonising. But the girl was banking on the fact that there were just an incredibly weird set of readings...

... and the fact that her own energy reserves were now dramatically replenished.

"Haaaah! See? You thought that attack was my best? You're too limited to even comprehend what I'm capable of!"

That might very well be true. After all, neither she nor her own creator could begin to answer that question!

Welp. She had PLANNED to at least tell Memory a little more about what exactly the end result would be but the girl seemed eager to kick the plan into full motion. Four's orb which was originally intent on demolishing a nearby building was intercepted instead. The malicious machine himself even looked surprised at the sheer audacity it took for Memory to so willingly fling herself before it despite the target being emptied out long ago. "I don't think property damage means quite as much as saving lives and stopping the threat Miss Hero, but if you're intent on burning yourself away before my serious power... go ahead." Yet she did not falter beneath the intensity of the attack she was attempting to block. In fact if anything her own battle power seemed to grow HIGHER.

"What?" Four was genuinely confused at the sight. "There should be no way for you to be handling that! Even an absorption-type model android would crack beneath that pressure!" He'd rise into the air with a burning ferocity, eyes narrowed as he re-evaluated his target. Azuki had been completely forgotten due to Memory's little display, but how long could her facade last. "I may have underestimated your limits... but it amounts to nothing. If dealing with that attack took THAT much power from you, I'd like to see you handle this!" He'd outstretch his hand, the telltale sign of another S.S. Bomber forming. "Unless you wish to surrender now and submit yourself to us."

"Hang in there kid," Azuki whispered, looking up at the confrontation from behind an alleyway corner. The hybrid's hand strained as brilliant green beams of light started to jut from her closed fingers, Suki struggling to keep the energy contained. "Just a little while longer and we can kick his fucking ass." But could Memory last?

Azuki begins to charge ERASER METEOR [SPRK]! It has preparation and merging+!

Perhaps Memory could have benefitted from more of the details. But the fact is that she trusts Azuki. Why? Because she's standing with her against this intensely powerful threat. There doesn't need to be any more than that. She completely puts her faith in the other teenager.

She had been told what she needed to do. Now she just had to do it. It was, in fact, not too dissimilar to the first thing she had done; keep the android's attention on her so that Azuki could make use of the opening. She just hadn't realised that she needed to do it for a much longer time. But if there was one thing that played to Memory's strong points, it was serving as a distraction. She's just so bright and colourful!

"You think that took power from me?"

Memory smiled down at the confused Android as the smoke rising from her palms trailed away. "That's the problem with logic. It only tells you about things you understand! To take the hate, hurt and sorrow of the universe and turn it into Hope... that is the power of the Infinite Hope Engine!"

It was true, albeit Memory put it in the most dramatic framing possible. She was no common absorbing type android. Her unique source of energy required that any power she absorbed wasn't merely taken into her, but was converted into more Hope as well. In other words, the more of her opponent's power she absorbed, the more hopeful she herself became; and the more power she had to fuel her own counterattack, of course.

She released the Rod of Hope to float next to her again, so that she could stretch out her hands to the sides, wriggle her fingers, and then bring them both down towards the android as he continued to charge his attack. The girl's gloved hands bear the familiar nodes of an absorption type, but he'd already seen that they behaved in such an unusual fashion!

"So give me all you have! I'll take it all! Every drop of anguish you want to inflict on this city, and I'll turn all of it into sparkling HOPE!"

From a nearby alleyway, Faith's mechanical cat watched on, and within her laboratory, the Doctor was trembling with worry. She knew better than anyone that using the Infinite Hope Engine like this was going to take an unimaginable toll on the girl who now relied upon it for her very life.

"You're a fool." She murmured, "Oh, you brave, stupid fool... prove me wrong, show the world your spirit, Pretty Sailor Memory!"

Four's attack was fully charged now, crackling menacingly as he leveled his palm at Memory's torso. "This 'hope' that powers you has a limit too. Whether you wish to believe it or not, there IS no such thing in our universe that can outpower regular energy through emotions. Your absorption is a regular cheap trick used by weak androids to make themselves stronger, but I know for a fact that THIS will overload you. Do you see now, girl? See the fault in your own hapless design."

Without further delay the attack was fired... but Four vanished from behind it. In a burst of speed, he'd circle around to Memory's back, attempting to deliver a brutal and sharp kick to send Memory INTO the encroaching attack! Afterward, Four would launch a smaller orb of power to chase behind her, hoping to sandwich Memory between the two and overload her with an unbearable amount of energy all at once. Azuki could do little but watch on with grit teeth, her hand trembling painfully from holding back on her technique for so long. "Almost there..." She'd whisper beneath her breath. If Memory could survive this one mega attack Azuki would finally have the opening she'd need to unleash Hell.

ERASER METEOR charges more, it'll be ready to fire next turn!

Silence fell upon the streets in this quarter of West City; where a few minutes ago, people would be scrambling to get away from this chaotic scene where a fight had broken out. Now, it seemed as though everyone was just... Gone?

The immediate area went from a state of panic to a weird calm. Had it been evacuated while the terrible mechanical ne'er do well was focused on the ones directly giving him some semblance of trouble? Indeed it had, the question was, how? Well, stragglers that had trouble getting away or were otherwise stuck in some manner of predicament would be whisked away to safety by various jet black animals of all different kinds... However, in truth it was not a strange parade of fauna that saved these people.

In the chaos of the fight; another hero had emerged, Though it was not one that could so easily be tracked or sensed, a formless black and white mass swerved around a corner and turned into a humanoid form before absolutely belting it at top speed down the empty road, this seemingly undefinable humanoid entity was wholly covered from top to bottom in vantablack clothing, only given detail and visible shape by the opposing colour; an eternal white. The entity wore a solid black helmet with accents, collared hoodie, some padded clothing and spiked boots and a tell-tale long grey scarf.

As they passed by the alleyway corner that the ginger woman was camping out at, they slowed down a fraction, looked her straight in the eye, and swiftly conjured what looked to be a strange crystal, tossing it right into the energy she had been collecting... Where it combined with that brilliant crackling green, increasing the strength of her technique! "Use it well." The entity quickly said, rushing down the street again before leaping straight upwards, attempting to shove the other girl out of harm’s way and instead putting themselves in the thick of it, what in the hell were they doing?! Who was this?!

The words that Four spoke might make perfect sense.

But that didn't mean Memory had to accept them.

From the moment the Infinite Hope Engine began burning in her heart, Memory had realised the truth. There was no power in the universe greater than Hope. The Hope inside her could bend reality. It could summon the clothes she wears and the rod that she will use to defend justice. It could make a sickly child into a defender of peace and justice. Hope could do anything. Hope could spread through the stars and make a universe free of suffering and pain.

She only had to grasp it.

And it saddened her that this man couldn't see that. But she would show him.

"If I'm so weak." She said, "Why haven't you had the guts to attack yet?!"

And then he did.

The kick to her back propelled her forwards, the girl's internals straining. The bright blue visor shot through with red warnings even before she collided with the Bomber -- but she managed to get her hands on it, and the power that surged through the core of her being was immense. Hope burned brilliant and powerful inside her as she struggled with the explosive energy blast. But this power was nothing but raw energy; it had no will or desire of its own.

Perhaps, neither did their opponent. Perhaps he was motivated only by the needs of another. How sad would that be? To be only a hollow shell to be filled by the requirements of a distant programmer? It almost made her weep to contemplate it.

But far more immediate was the power surging through her circuits.

In that distant lab, bars rammed through to 100% almost instantly. Then went further. 110%. 120%. 130%.

"Come on, Memory!" Faith cried, "I believe in you... I have to!"

The energy surged and burned, and with immense effort, Memory dragged her arms around in the air. Tears shone in her eyes as her teeth ground together, every synthetic muscle in her body taut with the effort as slowly, impossibly, the assault turned from outrageous red to a bright, sparkling pink.

"Even you... must know, how ridiculous you sound..." The girl forced out, her words strained and cracking under the pressure of the assault. "... every word you speak, you're trying to convince yourself. You have no conviction. But it's okay. I... I can, free you, from that fear."

Her arms were starting to buckle. She could feel the connections in her palms fusing and melting. Faith was going to be so angry at her later. She'd worked so hard to provide her with this body, and this was the first thing she did with it? Ah, but she must have known that she couldn't just stand still when people were in danger. That's just not who Pretty Sailor Memory is.

"ANDROID FOUR!" She screamed, red and pink lightning coursing up and down her arms, "I WILL BREAK THE CHAINS OF LOGIC! I WILL GIVE YOU... HOPE!"

And in that moment, the Hope-Filled Bomber EXPLODED from her palms, slamming into the smaller red orb sent to finish the job. The resultant detonation flung her bodily from the air, to careen into the ground and smash through the broken asphalt. Her rockets boots sputtered and died as the girl looked up through the enormous cloud of smoke between herself and the impossibly strong creation.

"I'm sorry." She murmured, "I... I don't think, I can do much more..."

That familiar numbness was creeping back into her limbs. It hurt just to exist. Her arms felt completely useless. Could even the power of the Infinite Hope Engine help her now? Even it was fizzing and sputtering; the heart on her chest continuing to arc with lightning. She'd vented as much power as she possibly could into that last attack, but -- the damage had already been done.

And at the other side of the battle, a mechanical cat stepped out from the alleyway to look directly at Makaimorph. The steel construction cocked its head curiously to the side, and opened its mouth.

"Meow."
