"Wow this place fucking sucks, holy shit." Maybe she was in the wrong spot of Hell. After all, Amara wasn't even technically supposed to be there in the first place, though the penalties for trespassing from Heaven to Hell were essentially wrist slaps compared to vice versa. Amara wanted to satiate her curiosity, maybe punch Yangcong a few times, and see what was what. Instead of some remotely hospitable place, Amara had somehow ended up in a frigid mountain range. That rained ash. Yeah, ash. The stuff that usually came from HOT stuff burning other stuff? That had somehow decided to rain down upon icy peaks. "There isn't even anyone around."
Nearby that was. There were some distant pings that she could probably hone in on, but for the moment her soul was already a bit weary from making the illegal trick to Heckland. The mountains were slick, jagged affairs. The range cut swathes of the land as far as the horizon stretched, and bordering the inhospitable crags was an eerie forest that even the denizens of Heaven heard rumors about. Get lost in there and you could be stuck for thousands of years if the Ogre teams couldn't locate you in the Ki-smothering embrace of the devilish branches.
Thread's PL: 32,000 After a journey through Heaven that had to be the most embarrassing Arzhael had ever felt in his entire existence, the demon managed to make his way to Hell. Home sweet home, finally. Here, he could flex his new power and dominate the people who sent him down to the mortal world, although he fully intended on going back himself once he was done visiting here.
The red lakes, the fires around, and the presence of ogres, ghosts, and demons, that's what he missed about this place! Of course, if he could find the spellcaster who cast him down to the mortal world, he would like to have a word with him, but priorities were to establish dominance once more as the wandering monster.
Demons were fleeing at the sense of his energy, they remembered the wandering monster alright, but one signature did not seem to budge at all... one that was, well, stronger than him, but that probably only meant they were already transformed, nothing to worry here. Arzhael made his way towards that signature, and when they came into his sight, the demon would address them properly, noticing they were strangely similar to Saiyans from the surface world.
'' Well well well, looks like someone did not get the memo about me uh? ''
The wandering monster spoke out loud to this new opponent, a new person to be tested by his hand and sword, even if he was pretty confident that with his new power, he would crush her easily.
'' Or is that a challenge perhaps? Maybe you are foolish enough not to realize the obvious already.''
Ah, it felt good to be able to speak normally once more... Heaven was indeed a terrifying place to get lost into, never would he go back to this terrible place.
Ah cool. A big energy signature decided to blip into existence quite close to Amara. She turned to face the stranger only to be met with the sight of a tall demonic being, clad in armor and brandishing a sword. "Oh." He started to speak. Something about fools and challenges. Picking a fight maybe? "Lol," said Amara "Lmao." Did this guy really think he and his edgy ass stood a chance in a one-on-one? Psh. As if. "Yeah no memos here. I have no idea who you are. Though uh, judging by the dark foreboding vibe and the fact that we're in Hell I'ma go ahead and assume you're some big shot Demon?"
A flash of hardlight particles swarmed her arm, a full blaster forming in their wake. She still hadn't really gotten a chance to field test the stuff since fighting Yangcong. After all, using weapons made of questionable technology and magic when it was ATTACHED to your arm and literally drew upon your own natural Ki was risky if it backfired. Eh, what did it really matter anyway? She was dead, would getting blown up make her double dead!? "Oh yeah," other guy was still here. "So did you want to fight or something?"
Unless his energy was suppressed or he had some sort of god omega form that was unknown to modern beings, Amara wasn't at any real risk of losing. Getting some practice in with her whacky semi-corporeal gear could only be a good thing, right?
Arzhael was almost shocked at the speed at which this person lost interest in him. One minute she was calling him a 'big shot demon' without even flinching, the other she was not even looking at him, creating something in her wrist with magic and barely giving in any attention. This, however, gave Arzhael the occasion to realize something...
This being was not transformed. This person was far stronger than him, the only chance he would stand is if, like Virus, their transformation was inferior to his... but she looked Saiyan, and if there is one thing the demon knew about those above anything else, was big monkey.
'' I mean, you're in hell... what else do you expect from the people you meet here? Of course, I want to fight!''
With that, and without wasting any more time, the demon would leap towards his newly found opponent, hoping maybe he would catch her off-guard or something since he knew that once she started throwing serious punches, he would have to transform and pray that she did not have a similar power-up to his. Of course, this was in case she did not appeal to his god damn ego like Ban had done weeks prior.
His sword would first come horizontally, attempting to get a clean hit through Amara's defense. If that failed, then Arzhael would put his shield up and attempt to bash her on the head with it. If he had learned something through all of his mortal-world fightings, it was that people are really keen on dodging a sword when they are not properly beaten down first.
"Mmm. Not sure? Maybe a relaxing boat ride. Or talking about our feelings. It'd be rude to assume everyone wants to throw hands." She kept speaking up until the point where Arzhael's blade was inches away from her torso. A horizontal slash huh. Her hand swung down to meet the weapon, sword clashing against the conjured cannon which did little more than spit out some bluish-white cubes of stuff. The shield was next, Amara mimicking it by forming one of her own to halt the bash dead in its' tracks. "Though you don't really seem to be the talkative type I guess. Sucks." Her cannon would jerk upwards just in time for a nigh point-blank blast of energy to be aimed directly at the Demon's head, Amara hopping back a bit to gain some distance.
"So what's your schtick anyway? You don't have a halo so you obviously aren't dead. Come to Hell to fight people often?" The weapon shifted from its' original form, becoming sleeker as three angled prongs jut out from the front of it. The device would blast a beam... straight past Arzhael and grab onto a particularly large boulder behind him. "Duck!" She shouted completely unhelpfully as the rock came soaring at the Demon, tethered by her strange piece of tech. So far it seemed like Amara was doing little more than toying with him. Though if it wasn't obvious by her attitude it wasn't out of confidence nor arrogance. Just a vague sense of antipathy and a blase attitude.
Hardlight Holotech (UT) used to make a temporary shield
Stratos Driver coming your way for 5,000 PL or 10,000 if met with a clash against an attack or barrier!
Physics Gun (UT) used to yoink a boulder in Arzhael's general direction
Arzhael was not surprised at the ease with which his new opponent manage to handle his offensive. He had felt the different in power levels just then, it would be absurd to think he stood a chance with a full-frontal assault, and the whole thing ended with him being blasted right in the face. His reaction was instant, as the canon shot at him almost point back, he flickered his sword like it weighted absolutely nothing and cut the blast in half, then would attempt to use that momentum to spin on himself and slash another one towards Amara, using the remaining energy of that attack.
But Amara decided to hop away, so instead of a normal sword slash, the remaining energy in the demon's sword formed a crescent projectile, going for her as she spoke to him.
'' You might be wrong on that, I do enjoy some talking with my opponents. I learn from my battles after all. So don't hesitate to feed on the conversation, is what I mean.''
Regardless of what would happen of his attack, Amara's question was one that warranted an answer... well, it didn't really, but Arzhael felt like talking, and that was a fair question to ask.
'' Well see, I was born here, so I never really died. I was cast into the mortal world for a while, but I eventually found the strength to come back. Now, I'm looking for an asshole Ogre who can teleport people to mortal planets. Still unsure if I should thank him or beat him up though, but I'll figure it out in due time.''
He simply answere before raising an eyebrow at her warning.
'' W-why do you...''
Before being hit straight behind the head with a rock. Ouch! How unfair was that! He turned to look at the nothing behind him, nobody had sent that rock... did she misfire her gun on purpose to cause a chain reaction and miss with him? Wow, did he really pause that much of a non-threat?
Arzhael uses Hakai Release: Slash to clash with Stratos Driver! 10,000 vs 12,800. Slash wins and sends 6,400 damage for Amara!
"Wup." Amara didn't have a particular want to be slashed in the face, dead or not. The two gained some distance so Arzhael was forced to convert his remaining energy into a wave attack instead. Her shield arm went out, the small buckler projecting a light screen of interlocking hexagonal pieces that solidly dismantled what was left of his attack. "Oh that's good! Usually, most people are all serious or brooding during combat so it makes it kinda hard for me to actually pay much attention." That was kinda a lie. Amara was as alert and vigilant as always when it came to combat. She just genuinely gave off a purpose aura of apathy towards the whole deal which caused enemies to make mistakes.
So he WASN'T really dead. That made sense. Stronger Demons had a tendency to wander out from where they belonged to the endless frustration of the Ogres. "Eh. I'm sure you'll figure it out sooner rather than later." Though it seemed Arzhael wasn't too quick to pick up on her vague warning of flying stone given that he was summarily bonked quite heavily with it. "Physics gun!" She said cheerfully. "That one's new so I'm still experimenting with it. It's really fun though. Maybe you can try it out after we're done fighting. Oh speaking of which-"
Her cannon returned to its normal gun-like state, charging an even more powerful blast which was shot at Arzhael with immense speed. "Upping the ante a bit! So you got any questions for me? Won't promise to answer everything but I'll spill most beans seeing as I'll be stuck here until my soul eventually fades away into nothingness."
Amara uses Reactive Armor (Reflective) to block the bleed through and send back 18,600 PL at him!
Well, it seemed that while it was in a very different way, this Saiyan woman enjoyed combat just as he did. This was a strange but familiar concept to Arzhael, as he met plenty of people that liked fighting, but not bloodshed and tearing up the weak as he did. This did raise a few questions to him, notable who exactly produced the hate that gave birth to him, and why did they want to destroy everyone so much, but those were questions he would likely never get the answer to... something to ponder in later days when he'd get some rest.
The idea that she was also using technology, visibly mixed with magic, was annoying to Arzhael... he hated technology, but even worst was using it with the madness and insanity that came with the arcane secrets, creating some form of abomination that he could only imagine the damage of. Of course, for now, there was only a rock thrown at him, but it could get worst much faster!
It seemed that his attack was, in a way, absorbed by her armor and thrown back at him, although empowered... now that was just absurd! He rose up to his shield against the reflected attack. Once the energy made contact with his shield, it was absorbed and consumed by some form of dark flame, leaving no trace of it on Arzhael, and the demon was unharmed.
'' Pretty crazy trick you just pulled out here. I do have to ask though, what did you do in life that brought you down to hell? You seem way too carefree to have done anything malicious... did you get lost on your way to heaven? Because if you like fighting, I suggest not setting a foot in there, it's a terrifying place where nobody can get any negative emotions, such as battle lust!''
The demon tried to warn his newly found opponent... unaware that the effect hell had on him was unique to his own being.
Arzhael uses Destruction Shield(Flavored Evasive) for 19,200, absorbing the reflected attack!
Their little game of energy ping-pong had come to an abrupt end when Arzhael raised his shield, magical flames enveloping what remained of the rebounding attack and consuming it whole like a hungry duck would. "Oh wow." That was cool. She had something similar with her energy sinks but hadn't really gotten a chance to actually use them yet. Or well she DID but there'd be little point to it. The two were left standing some modest distance apart, Amara's other tools fading back into light as only the cannon remained. Perhaps the Demon would make the mistake of assuming she needed the gadgetry to withstand attacks. It'd make sense given her fighting thus far, but hoo boy he'd be in for a shock.
"Oh, I wasn't sent to Hell. The biggie cheese himself decided that all the stuff I did warranted a stay in the hotel suite rather than the bottom floor. I actually came here on purpose just to see if I could, you know? Well, that and to see if any of the more feisty folks down here would want to serve as willing test subjects for my gear in a fight." Though it was humorous to hear that the swordie had some issues when traveling up in Heaven as the holier realm suppressed his carnal desires. "I'll keep it in mind but from what I saw with another Demon he could get agitated just fine."
Needlessly adjusting her goggles the woman decided then and there that enough talk had passed. "We can weave more conversation into our battle but's let's not hit the full pause for too long!" The cannon would rise and predictably fire off another glob of plasma-like energy. Amara was still conserving her energy as best she could. It wasn't entirely necessary given that there was a noticeable power schism that she COULD close (but actively selected not to), but seeing what Arzhael did in response with his techniques was fun.
Well, this Saiyan girl really did have a lot of talk in her, didn't she? Arzhael was surprised at someone who legitimately wanted to go through hell, this place was his home, sure, but anyone not born in here, why would they want in? Well, he imagined that since this Saiyan was so damn strong, perhaps they did not have to worry about it all? That was somewhat plausible, but still, it was sort of foolish. She could get corrupted, but if she was, then she wouldn't be quipping like she was right now... with the funny jokes and all, strange way of speaking of a demon indeed.
'' So another demon was fine eh? Perhaps he was made different than I was. I'm not going to try and understand Heaven, what a place for weirdos.''
He said before Amara charged up another shot for him! He was getting tired of his, as he could not properly react to them! Amara was wasting little to no energy firing these, and it took considerable amounts to keep Arzhael from taking full damage out of these... truly annoying. Arzhael decided that playing to his disadvantage has lasted long enough. With a surge of power, his energy multiplied itself, even beyond what he usually could do in this form for a short while, and he sliced at Amara right through her shot. Now came the hope that maybe the Saiyan could not turn Oozaru, or this would end horribly for the demon.
'' You're right, let's not waste any time just talking, we can multitask! Hakai Release: Slash!''
He shouted to her, his voice slightly shifted from the Makyo Energy coursing through his body. After slicing the Stratos shot clean in half, his sword was now coming for Amara, attempting to cut deep into her body, or soul, whatever remained of mortals when they came down here, it was a confusing matter.
Arzhael transforms using Makyo Force! With Transformation Boost used to push it to x6 for a turn! New PL: 160,000/192,000
He then uses Hakai Release: Slash with Demonic Might! 96,000 first clashing with Stratos Shot. 86,000 remaining, coming for Amara!
"Well I didn't necessarily mean it like-" Too late! The unintentionally provocative words had sparked the swordsman to unleash his full power! Her poor little blast was cleaved in twain as the Demon rushed forward, intent on carrying his newfound momentum all the way to her spectral demise. "Well OK! If you insist!" When her enemy was a few short steps away Amara's own power would suddenly spike, icy blue suit highlights gaining a sudden and noticeable glow as the sheer energy emanating from her multiplied five times over. No visible aura, no giant monkey, not even a change of eye color. Amara would grin playfully as her cannon faded away in a burst of particles as a highly advanced-looking gauntlet formed on her right hand.
A sudden hexagonal field would spring up as Arzhael's sword came crashing down, the blade slowing as it struggled to cut through the defensive surface. It succeeded, though the remaining power failed to even lacerate her suit as Amara barely even reacted to the hit whatsoever. "Yoink." her one hand, coated in a thick layer of hardlight, would attempt to outright grasp the blade and pull it out of the Demon's hold. Her other weaponized one would rocket forward, aiming to deliver a solid side-hook blow to the guy's face. Facial area? Whatever.
Amara spends 4 MP to boost her form by +x1 for this post!
She transforms into Star Alpha (x5)
Amara uses a charge of her Battle Armor (60,000 PL) to defend against the incoming bleed through, suffering minor damage (+6%)
A punch-flavored Super Stratos Driver is headed Arzhael's way for 90,000 PL!
vWell, the worst that Arzhael could have imagined happened right in front of his eyes. As he was getting ready to drive his transformation as a surprise and land a decisive hit on Amara, she just... powered up about the same as him, and without even a spark of hesitation, blocked his sword, throwing it away from him with a hand and punching him clean in the face with the other. The impact was brutal, the sheer physical power behind that blow sent the demon flying and tumbling on the ground. How could she still have that much energy after all that happened?
After a few instants, Arzhael got back on his feet, taking his dented helmet off and throwing it to the side. Alright, he was not winning this battle, no matter what. This opponent was massively stronger than him. Good, then he would actually get stronger by surviving it right, that's how he always worked out after all.
Effortlessly, he called back his sword to his hand, resting it on his shoulder, taking the time to analyze the situation. He was empty in energy, but he had no way to confirm that Amara was the same. He had to play defensively, wait for the right moments to strike, and when it comes, strike as hard as he can. Sneaky tactics would be the only way to get a solid hit on this armored Saiyan.
'' Hell, you pack one insane punch. You surely deserve your place here, bet you no demon would want to mess with you after what is happening right now. I'm beginning to think that technologic thing is not so bad after all... or perhaps you're just a unique case... the exception that confirms the rule maybe.''
He rubbed his jaw lightly, that was going to leave a mark... thankfully his helmet has been there to spare his poor tooths the ol' forced extraction.
Arzhael tanks Super Stratos Driver for 90,000(~56%) damage clean in the face!
Also uses Material Tracing to recall his sword to him, wherever it might be

"There has not been a single person that disarming ever worked against, I swear..." She'd sigh a bit dramatically but her attitude quickly shifted back its usual pep. "Then again most of the weapons wielders I see are magic. And just have their pointy piece tied to them magically. That's probably why they're the armed folks in the first place, huh." Oh well. At the least Amara now knew for certain that trying any funny business with the Demon's weapon wouldn't really pan out. Or maybe she could continuously yank it from his hands so he'd waste time and energy recalling it? That'd work if there was any hint to what it took to actually perform said recall. So many variables, so few answers.
"What's the whole thing about tech 'not being so bad'? Have a bad run it with it before? Or maybe it's a case of 'only the weak need it'." Ha! Well little did he know that hers was a very special case indeed. Seeing as Arzhael was a bit winded energy-wise, Amara wisely decided to hang back as well, regaining her own strength. "This stuff is a mix, right? The magic all comes from me. And the weapons and shield use MY Ki. No batteries or external power required! To be honest the only reason why I made all this, to begin with is that I've always had strong INTERNAL power, just no way to materialize it."
Arzhael chucked hearing Amara's rant on how people with swords never got disarmed. Yeah, there was a thing when you use a sword, the first thing you must learn is to recall your weapon to you, or else all that sword training goes to shit the moment someone gets a hold of the damn thing, and with the power in which they played, it was quite common to have your sword removed from you or even destroyed, which made the need for those kinds of options absolutely necessary. However, the demon was surprised to hear the actual reason this Saiyan girl was using that form of technology, as well as how she was using it. This was the kind of technology he would be opened to if he ever put any of this on his person.
He said out loud, gently pondering with his hand on his chin.
'' So that technology does not grant you strength, it only allows you to channel it properly. Someone who might have appeared weak on the outside, but was secretly strong. This is the kind of person I have in front of me... truly interesting.''
This matter would bring back the question of, was reliance on technology is a sign of weakness or was a smart way to display strength? It was not cut and dry anymore, he would have to judge people using technology all the same. He was glad to have learned that, more people to take care while beating them up.
'' Thanks for the information, then. I'll be sure to judge technology user properly next time, and not just murder them because I assumed they were weak. Now, where were we?''
He said, readying his sword for another round of combat, although he would not jump into it as he had done previously. He knew better now.
Amara's own sword previously had a semi-recall function too of course, but it took TIME and wasn't instant magic hand waving that could do it for her! Now she had a whole ARSENAL of hand waving magic to do all sorts of stuff! In fact, Amara had still been developing a replacement to the plasma-edged weapon she'd wielded for a short time before her death. Holoblade wasn't a very creative name but it DID get the point across. Perhaps she should try it out against another actual swordsman just to see how she'd fair? A slouch in blade play she was not, but Arzhael seemed to have that natural Demon experience to back up wielding one of the pointed sticks into battle.
Oh right, he was talking about her stuff. "That's right! I could probably punch you just as hard as these blasts hit but I'd have no access to ranged attacks which would kinda suck long-term for me. And I couldn't exactly rely on getting an actual physical body to try and replicate my electrical manipulation from before, so I decided to put some elbow grease in and spring for the big toys." All of it was her OWN power. And even if it wasn't she only used stuff SHE built so in that regard it'd be counted as her own strength anyway. What was the difference between wielding a magic sword and a gun in that regard?
"Cool decision," She'd flash the Demon a nonchalant thumbs-up. "Really shows your growth!" Now then, they weren't exactly fit for combat still. What to do to pass the time? Bring out some special traps?? Nah, she was saving that big reveal for someone closer to her battle power. Ah! Sword time! Amara's cannon receded as a two-piece bright cyan polygonal sword complete with a rubbery (but not exactly rubber) hilt. She'd swing the near-weightless blade around few times in a twirling motion before nodding twice, adjusting her stance to one more suited to sword on sword combat. "Engarde!"
