The girl continued to examine the sword as Kowlin explained more of its origins, a smirk finding its way to her face as he did so. It would be a powerful new weapon in her arsenal and most of all, an object that reminded her of her goals and motivations.
"A demonic sword, hm? I like that, that's freakin' badass! They'll call me the Demon King of the Itto-Ryu! ...Or somethin' cool like that. I really appreciate the gift." She bowed her head in a show of respect, hoping he truly understood the gratitude she had. Being given a sword was more than just a gift to a warrior who lived and died by the sword, it was of the utmost importance.
Katsu gave a listen to his opinion on heroes and morality in the galaxy, his wisdom after such time observing and even taking part in it clearly showing through. She nodded.
"So, I should just keep doing what I want then. And by the end of my life, I may very well be a hero to many even though I think I'm a villain. Or I may die proud of myself, while everyone despised me as evil, huh? So it just boils down to the fact no-one agrees on what 'good', 'evil' or 'heroes' and 'villains' even are. Thanks a lot, mister. That's a helpful thing to hear from someone as much knowledge as you."
She stood up, scratching her chin as she thought on it. It was an interesting new perspective that she had never even considered... heroes were simply heroes who saved others. Villains were those who hurt others. But it was never that cut and dry, real people were much more complex. Of course. She needed time alone now, to turn this new knowledge over.
"If there's nothing more, Kowlin... I think I'll take my leave. You've given me a nice push in the right direction for getting stronger. My motivation is renewed and everythin'. Long road ahead for me now... thanks a lot!"
She turned to leave, hoping she didn't get lost on the way out. Would the Shinjin just let her go though, he had only given her things. The samurai gave nothing in return but her thanks. It was generosity but was there a hidden motive or was this deity truly just hoping to see her grow and flourish? She didn't know, her footsteps echoing as she grew further from him.
