Katsu was long gone, her mind and body separated to the point that she was drifting into reminiscence. In the muted tones of her memories that seemed like they belonged to another person, she floated like a wisp. Betwixt all the experiences that founded who she was today, she had to ask... how did it end up like this? Did she really enjoy holding her sword or had that been an elaborate lie woven into her very foundation? Her body had gone fully limp as the spar turned more into a bludgeoning. A one-sided beating.
His praise fell on deaf ears, in fact... that man had completely stopped existing to her for now. Not out of disrespect or any other petty reason but he simply didn't matter right now. She believed she understood who he was, a power-hungry maniac like her. But was she really the same as this genuine demon pummelled her. Her katana clattered to the stone floor, the ki-infused volley of fists cutting into her defenceless body, larger and more permanent scars joined bruises. Her gut felt like it had been crushed at this point, only another set of punches away from internal bleeding.
The samurai's vacant eyes just stared straight ahead. The blade in front of her was covered in so much blood and would only continue to bring her pain and suffering. She just wanted to take it all back. This was what an actual devil looked like. People like this... Celeste, Kowlin and now this strange person. Their goals and power were so outlandish and unfathomable. She was like a child clinging to their shadow hoping it may fill the gaping hole in her.
A sharp rise in Ki. An explosion of pain all over her body. Her muscles strained, already battered and aching. Bones rattled. Yet... she deserved this! All of it! She would pay for her sins in blood. How could she forget? This suffering was her punishment. Only when she became strong enough to end this pain could her family, her departed friend look at her again. The only way to achieve any dream, no matter which one she ended up pursuing... was through steel and blood!
With such a powerful burst of energy converted into an aura, Katsu's sheer willpower solidified as an aggressive tempest around the two, attempting to wrestle the Sankishin off of her through just an increase in power-level. Regardless of how well it unbalanced the hulking armour, she would attempt to jump back, ready to counterattack after being beaten so thoroughly. A vacuum formed around her blade, which hummed and shone like it had before she dealt him his wound. But this was much more intense, the very act of putting Ki into the conduit shaking her entire body and spirit to the core.
"Bushido is believing your way is right, no matter what! Even if you get lost... even if you fail... pick yourself up and keep adhering to your own law! And right now... my law is telling me to kill you, you sonnuva-!!"
Her profanity was covered by the roaring current of air as the elements around the battle went into an uproar, all focused on the single point of her blade. She was putting everything into this strike, her very heart. A noise akin to a gunshot split the air, deafening most. In an instant, she was upon the opponent and the blade fell to cut him the opposite way she had before, attempting to carve a massive 'X' into him with her sword that threatened to implode due to the barely controlled mass of Ki pulsing within it. Yeah, she didn't care about any grand goal or dream right now. She just wanted to beat the shit out of the people who got in her way and might make her stronger. Could this seemingly indestructible enemy take this? If he could, she would have lost. But that would be an interesting outcome too.
