The Ruins of a once massive city. Destroyed by the war between the saiyans and the tuffles. It must of had quite a history, one that Mint had not exactly fully unpacked. But that was fine today he was just walking thinking of what this place could become when he and Emperor Azoth fixed it up. It was a great question to exactly wonder what they could do. The two of them had returned to the planet, with Emperor Azoth going to work with the two sides to figure out which one they will work if, or if they can find some peace. Even if Mint believed the latter option was foolish he would still hold on to the idea. Both sides working under and helping expand the Arcose Empire seemed to be a mighty idea. Soon all planets could be united and business could be booming. That was how he thought of it. Mint was not a conqueror, even if conquest was an option to force compliance. He just wanted to increase the money he drew in and to have some form of excitement doing it. This was doing that just fine.
He kept pacing around, Yes he'd be successful he make this all work. Mint raised his arms to the ruins gleeful staring at the sky, "This will be rebuild by my hands you hear me." He pointed towards where Arcose would be in the Cosmo's. "All of this done by my hands. No one will ever step on my name. Never agian." Mint would not allow it. He'd rise up and make this all with his power or dry trying.
Mortals always found the most amusing ways to enforce their will upon the worlds they inhabited. They build grand structures, created dynasties, enforce laws and grow economies to try to last the ages... but they always fail in the end. Fleeting as the summer winds, swept away like darkness in the light and dominated by the insatiable desires to make their impact upon the world. That was what Kamae had once thought too, when he was but a single voice in the sea of faces. A single individual that had fought his way far above their limitations. He had been freed... Had being the key word. His work was never done though.
"KEHAHA! By your hands you say?"
Kamae's voice rang out as he flew from a nearby window. His ghostly form drifting on the wind like smoke while his green eyes kept their focus on the being below.
"Such ambitions! Such drive! Ahh its refreshing to see a fresh ambition budding. Or perhaps it is older than I know? Exciting!"
Kamae eventually floated down to the ground, his legs like pointed sticks that barely made contact. His form lithe but also fragile looking, as one might expect from a spirit with no form. He could shape himself to look different, like a blob on the ground or like smoke. But that didn't mean he was without substance.
"You wish to rebuild this decaying carcass? Why? Its clearly past its prime... Why not wipe it clean and start anew as you mortals are wont to do."
Kamae would then wave a ghostly hand in the direction of one of the nearby buildings.
"But where are my manners, speaking about desecrated cities and picked clean bones got my spirits up. I am Kamae, a... traveler of sorts."
The spirit bowed, his form flowing like smoke as he did so. Once finished, he would seem to simply reform instead of rising back up. His body almost as if it was having trouble staying together. Which to be fair was true, his real body was somewhere else far far away. Yet it could be summoned at a moments notice for a brief time. Even so, Kamae had no reason to use his strength at the moment to bring his body here. Let it stay in the vault for now...
Mint heard a voice call out to him, he turned his head to see who was talking to him. He would check his scouter to see the power level of the figure in front of him. It was merely a power level of <5>. Mint frowned looking him over. "You must be hiding your strength." Mint hissed annoyed. Kamae kept on calling out he had so much drive, so much ambition. Mint just kept a frown, as he listened to the demonic being speak and explain why he didn't destroy all of this instead of rebuild it. Mint had been hoping to be alone here to shout out, it was quite embarrassing to be caught in this manner. Enough for him to even consider blasting the creature to get rid of it. But, it was hiding its power Mint was sure, plus he had have a fair point. This place was a large set of ruins, it had no value to anyone at this time and maybe forever more. Why not scrap it and make something better instead of repeating the past. To allow the same flawed thing to exist? It would only crumble away agian.
When the creature gave his name as Kamae finally turned to face the demon composed after the brief bit of shock and anger that took over him. "Kamae huh. I am Mint. I'm the advisor to the Emperor of Arcose, Emperor Azoth. I look over this city, as of course my emperor is very interested to see what will happen to this planet and how he can help. As his advisor, it is important I look at all of these things and advise him whether they can be rebuilt or not. But tell me why this planet for yourself. You must of had many more planets to travel to instead of this dump. Does this war interest you as well?"
Kamae's wide grin disappeared as the arcosian spoke of his strength, and the shadow simply looking down for a moment before returning his gaze back to the alien. His strength was not here, but elsewhere yet how could one explain that? How did you begin to explain that this was but a true glimpse of the spirit within and that the flesh resided elsewhere? That every ounce of power he got here, was fed someplace else? Even he did not fully comprehend the way his condition worked.
"Ahh that is the million and one question isn't it? Why anyone would come here... Well you see..."
Kamae would hold out his hands to his sides, palms up turn in a sort of grand gesture, his legs moving together almost appearing as one unified peg that kept him held upright. This man was an advisor to an emperor? Excellent... Perhaps if he grew closer to this people he could use this as a way to feed on others. There was a war going on as well? His day just got better.
"I am exiled from my home... Unjustly I might add. A villain took from me my rightful place and tore from me my body. They use it now, keeping it in a vault where I cannot fully access it. While yes, I can temporarily use my body, it already returns to the vault."
Kamae could use an advisor to aid him in some ways, perhaps even make a deal.
"Well I know I look pretty awful and yes... I am a demonic spirit... But we all have our own unfortunate stereotypes to deal with."
Kamae was well aware of how he looked, and how he might seem to others. He didn't need to necessarily disquiet that notion but only sooth it if he could.
"This war does interest me. If only on a passing notion. Feeding on the dark desires of others helps sooth the wounds of being separate from ones body."
Kamae was being rather upfront he supposed, which in hindsight might be a bad thing, yet given his current situation he could do little. He would need the aid of allies, of people to assist him in growing stronger. Perhaps if he worked with this alien, he could potentially get closer to the war? No, it was unlikely that he could be so lucky. But roaming an empty city as a spirit was unlikely to get him anywhere. Perhaps honesty would help him get in better with them? So many things were left up to chance now, something he wasn't use to yet. He didn't have any information here.
Back on his home world, he knew the Talos, knew the leaders and how to deal with everything. Centuries of work, of planning and cunning had gone to waste... Now he was here as a puff of air in the wind... Such indignation for one such as himself! Such Misfortune to be cast to the wind while he was a god! A LIVING DEITY! Rage boiled within him, but he pushed it down for now.
"I must confess I am rather at the mercy of any who approach me currently. My soul is little more than a puff of smoke on the wind. Yet I could offer my knowledge of magic, and my understanding of the arcane to you? Aye I am asking to join you and this emperor... I am weak and fragile sure... But perhaps in your desires to rebuild I can be of some use? I was once a researcher, a politician and a teacher... Surely someone such as myself could be of some use to an emperor..."
Kamae was going on a limb here, he was thousands and thousands of years old. He should rightfully be dead, yet as a spirit he was able to survive this long as a weakling... That should attest to his cunning and intellect?
Mint would listen as Kamae explained that he was banished from his home by a villian, and this was some sort of temporary body. That was quite interesting. "Hmm unrightfully detained. That seems something my boss would love to here." Like he actually believed this was a good man. This screamed deception but maybe he was wrong to assume that. But hearing him out would not hurt. Maybe he'd be wrong to assume that was the case of the demon. And even if that was the case, it was not as if he couldn't use this creature on his side. So he would listen and if he found him too untrustworthy, well he could just walk away. There was little to lose on his end by leaving this creature to his own devices. As long as it never got in his way, it didn't much effect him.
Mint listened as Kamae explained that the war interested him but only in the passing. He explained the dark emotions he fed on helped sooth the damage to his body. Was he growing back in strength by doing this? He had to wonder if that was the case. Well it didn't matter that much. Kamae then began his bargaining, Mint face scowling as he listened to the demon. He offered his demonic magic, and joined his emperor. “Yes, that is an possability. But tell me why can I trust you demons? What can you tell me that will assure that you will not betray us? I have to caution this planet has a lot of cunning folks.” Kamae had a lot of skills. Skills that he could make use of. But he’d have to listen to what the demon had to say next before he offered him some sort of position.
Kamae was not surprised by that question, after all how could anyone trust him. He was a dark shade, a ghost of vile intention and the desire to consume the suffering of others. He fed on sin like it was the air others breathed, and betrayal was probably the first thing everyone thought of when they looked at him. Yet he knew that the only way to prove himself was be given a chance, but to give him a chance was a risk no intelligent being would give.
"The most important question of all I'd say."
Kamae gave a shrug as he said this, but it wasn't a shrug of acknowledging he didn't know but rather a gesture of understanding.
"But how much trust can you put into anyone when temptation lies at the heart of every mortal to breath. How much trust can we put into anyone with ambitions to grow stronger, that we might one day be cast aside in favor of greater strength, wealth or personal gain..."
Kamae lifted his gaze to the ruins around them, holding out his hands as he did so.
"We are all driven by ambition, and that is in every leader ever... But to answer your question of why you should trust me specifically... because I have no desire to usurp what you have... I simply wish to reclaim that which is rightfully mine... My own body... My flesh and blood."
Kamae stated before holding his hand toward Mint, and smiling happily.
"And I am willing to give you all that I know... just to be reunited with that I have lost... Have I not been honest with you so far. Have I not told you the truth? I eat the sins of others, I feed on their misery and suffering... I can use my powers temporarily and I have offered useful insight already have I not?"
Kamae referred to the city itself, the earlier question and how it would be worthless to rebuild this city.
"Not that it was some grand revelation I am sure... But I am not foolish enough to try to fight or even undermine someone who is easily my superior in power, who I cannot even run from. I am sure before I could even blink you could strike me down over and over... Yet I stand before you undaunted... so I am not a coward by any means. Not that I can sense energy either... but given my... fragile state I'd imagine a strong breeze would defeat me currently."
Kamae chuckled at this, but deep down rage boiled in his veins. He despised being this weak when he was suppose to be a great god, a deity of unimaginable power and strength...
"I can't say you will find anyone who will readily tell their weakness and secrets so wholeheartedly... but willingly offer their services for only the modest fee of being kept safe... and helping to grow. I but need a place to be, a home of sorts. Wondering world to world is excessively tiring and not very productive. I would simply be lost on the wind and why pass up the chance to gain the edge in magic? Would you rather I tell the blood thirsty saiyans? What of the tuffles with their weapons? Would you like me to spill my secrets to them so that they might create even greater weapons of destruction?"
All were extremely valid points to be made, surely this Mint could see the value of having a spirit with magical knowledge, enough knowledge to avoid being dragged to the afterlife or to be slain could be useful. An honest one who did not hesitate to be truthful... sure he had his own goals, but if one did not have goals they could not thrive... Though Kamae had not promised to NOT betray them yet. Not that he would honor such a promise if it came time to kill those no longer useful...

Mint would listen to what Kamae had to say. To see if he was something that could be used for him. He gave the fair point that it was not going to be trust in anyone when temptation lays in the heart of each anyone, that someone could not throw you aside when they found someone else with greater strength, wealthier or personal gains. Exactly how Mint thought of these things. If something was no longer useful why tie yourself to it. Why be apart of a sinking ship when you could be apart of a rising one. Or be that rising ship that sails across the entire sea. And as for his ambition. He wanted to reclaim his body, to have it back. His own flesh and blood. "And if someone helps you take that back?" Mint grinned. Maybe he'd help him out. He ate the sins of others, he feed of misrey and suffering. While in a past time this would be helpful but now with Azoth that world would not exist? But this guy ability's did interest him. But it seemed as if they were on two sides of a coin. He feed on misery, he needed everyone be happy. Guess Kamae could kill the vile folk but other then that? This would need some deep thought.
Kamae noted that despite all of this he'd not undermine anyone who was so much stronger then himself. Which extended rightfully to himself along with Azoth. They were two of the strongest beings in the entire universe. He even stroked Mint's ego noting that he could destroy Kamae in a flash without him able to do a thing. "Yes you are right, I could destroy you in an instant. But unlike some of my kind, I'm not so keen to just destroy everything that I see. I only destroy things that get in my way." Mint eye shined, he was sure Kamae knew that meant if he got in his way if they made a deal, Mint would stop at nothing to destroy Kamae. "You have made some good points my friend but it seems we are somewhat on different paths. In the service of my Emperor Azoth he wants a universe full of peace and I image that is not something to your liking. However, I may have use for you. I need someone that can hide in the circles of vile men and give me important information. A spy if you will. Does that intrigue you?" If it did maybe Mint would go further on this.
Kamae seemed to have gotten this Arcosian's attention, the spark of interest had been lit and the Demon didn't need to kindle it any further. They had come to an understanding it seemed, as the Alien asked what if someone were to help him get his body back. Kamae's smile spread further, from one side to the other. Marvelous, he was getting somewhere already. The Ghost would simply bow then, happy to finally meet someone who was cordial at the very least.
Yet the Alien was not done, saying they were on different paths, as theirs was of peace and his was of devouring sin while causing misery. Yes it seemed their paths did indeed separate at one junction, but that was unavoidable. After all, a god could not be seen searching an empire... But that was for another time.
"Well I do say we have a deal. Might I ask a boon if you will... You see I spoke of a home. A place to return to when I am done exploring the vastness of space. As stated before I have a vast knowledge of magic, I study the magical arts and arcane regularly. To properly be of use to your emperor... I need a lab, a place to study, and experiment."
Kamae looked up at Mint then, standing up straight once more. His expression much more serious, less mischievous than before.
"I will gladly spy on the networks that will undermine you... But I must have a place of my own to organize my things. Information cannot be stored in thin air after all..."
With that Kamae would hold up his palm, a simply piece of paper forming on it. A torn parchment of sorts that was very old, but solid enough to be handled.
"A blueprint if you will. I once had a lab, capable of synthesizing things I need using magic. I can create what I need but I need a room, exactly to this measurements. Equipment is optional but it would save me time. I will also need to know where I will be operating out of. I assume you do not live on this planet given you said you were visiting. I'll need to know what planet."
Kamae was fully intending to utilize this deal to make himself at home within this empire, and truly making a place to settle down. He didn't need a whole lot, as he could expand his lab at his own leisure when the time came. But without a place to settle down... he wouldn't be much use to this Adviser.
Despite everything he said, Kamae still seemed to be somewhat on board with his plan. However, he needed a home of some type once he was done exploring the vastness of space. That could be arranged quickly easily Mint imagined. Somewhere he could study the magically arts, and a lab to study and experiment. "Well my Emperor rules the planet of Arcose. One of it Moon however is my territory. The Crystal Casinos are mostly owned by me at this point." Even if not officially but if he asked Azoth for permission he could probably take over the Casinos and officerly make them his territory without dispute. "I can probably find you a spot there where you can do your thing in peace. As long as it close enough to me to observe what ever your doing of course." Had to make sure Kamae didn't use this to set up a deception right under his nose. But the demon was probably aware that would of been apart of the arrangement in some shape or form.
He would look over as Kamae handed him a piece of paper seeing what he exactly wanted. It was a big space to say the least. He gave a nod as he glanced over it. "I'll have to head to Arcose to get this done but it is good you have an idea of what you want. How long do you wager this is supposed to take." Mint asked as he looked it over. It didn't seem like something he couldn't get built. The Equipment might be out of reach but most of the stuff didn't seem too bad. "Right as for this equipment your going to have to tell me exactly what you want so I can buy it. I'm not that knowledge in any sort of magically arts." Mint kept reading it as he waited for the demon to explain each object he'd need and how to obtain them.
Kamae was glad this Mint person was such an accommodating host and someone who was quick on the draw to business as Kamae was a fan of this. It was like this two were meant to work together, and were quite proficient at working through a deal... He could appreciate a common ground when it was found, so knowing it was best to get this over and done with as soon as possible, Kamae would bow gracefully. He didn't necessarily need someone to buy something but the less he had to create, the less work on his end. Money truly was a mortals free pass.
"Well lets see... We should set ground rules first, after all I am in your home after all... How do you feel about experiments on living beings? I'd rather not be... disciplined for things I know nothing of."
Kamae asked before beginning to pace, a shadowy hand stroking his forehead as he paced.
"I'll need basic supplies such as... You know what... I'll simply make a list! I'd rather not bore my employer with the trivial matters." ." Kamae would hold out his hand and a digital data pad was formed. Its appearance liken to a clip board, but the middle was glass while the outer brim was a solid plastic like substance. Kamae materialized a pen with no tip, utilizing it to begin writing things down. While he did so, the Ghost glanced up at Mint before smiling happily.
"This will be a fruitful relationship... Ahh it will be so much fun to begin exploring the depths of the Magical plane with new purpose. I'll follow the rules like a good little worker, and keep my nose clean of any Arcosian business. Along with Arcosian business, should I be made aware of any current events that need explaining? Perhaps people I should avoid? Or be hunting down?"
Kamae was eager to begin, after all this was a prime opportunity to explore more and learn as much as possible. The more he learned, the more he could use to get his body back. Of course, he would need to be careful from now on. He wasn't as "free" as he was before. With the signing on to an empire came the risks of being watched, of one sleep up costing him dearly. He needed to learn more about everything and plan accordingly.
Mint grinned at Kamae as he asked a pretty important question, if he was fine with him experimenting on living being. This was something he didn't exactly expect. This was going to be tough to deal with. At least he was sure the type of bastard he was dealing with now. Kamae was not something that was a good being not at all. "My emperor would certainly not like me doing that. But see, he has given me charge of dealing and controlling the criminal element of Arcose. To deal with those that be a problem. And in these types of engagement, people are to die. Afterall it is a fight. And many of these people need to disappear. Most of the time you just float their corpses into space. But I image you can make use of them. Now if they need to be alive, that will be much tougher to manage. I am not in the business of taking living folks and handing them along in a Congo line. But those who have enraged me and I need to kill for my pride? Those I can make expectations for. Those people tend to vanish and as long as your not asking for thousands of bodies, I can make it work." He was playing a dangerous game but only him and Kamae needed to know about this. He was sure he could work with this man though if these conditions worked for Kamae.
Still it seemed they could make this work, Kamae was fine working with him and not asking too many questions. He was happy to given the potential chance to work with the man. Even if he didn't exactly like it. But if Kamae talents were what he said they were, he'd rather have him working under him then agiasnt him or with someone far more vile them himself. He knew those types existed out there. As for what Kamae needed to know the man nodded. "Well yes, first we will be giving eachother codenames. I won't sell you out and you won't sell me out. So if something occurs in our little dealings. Trust me if I hear my name come out with you or your code name on the end I'll personally kill you and make it as a brutal as possible. Anytime we need to communicate you will call me Oden." A one eyed god on that stupid planet of Earth. It fit him well enough. "And I shall call you Loki. If that suits you of course." Mint paced back and forth in thought.
"As for what I'd want your skills for. Well it is quite simple. I'd want you to either be spying on the saiyans, the tuffles or the humans of earth. You see my Emperor is expanding, not of course by force. But by relationships. On the ground here we are still deciding between the saiyans and the tuffles. Who to help or hinder in this little war they are playing at. But as for Earth, I don't exactly know what going on down there. There leaders and feelings on my emperor. I can't be in all places at once. Therefore having a spy of some sort of feed me information will allow me to keep the Arcose Empire one step ahead." Yes this was what it was all about. Keeping the Arcose Empire at the top reins. To allow them to control how things were going across the cosmos's. To never allow anyone to get a one up on them. Hopefully Kamae would be able to do all that but at the least he'd be someone he could use and not worry about betrayal.
Kamae listened carefully, taking each word with the utter seriousness it deserved. He would refer to Mint as Odin for now, and maintain that façade perpetually. Indeed, that would be best as he was going to be acting as a conduit for information and finding out all he could about everyone else. Kamae also made sure to understand that people disappear, and that he may receive them as a means to continue his experiments. This was going to be good, as he needed live test subjects to continue his work. He needed to know how to advance his own soul to be able to bear the weight of the Sankishin after all.
"I see, no just a few healthy donors will do. Dead can be useful as well but not nearly so as a living subject. I'll keep quiet about my experiments naturally, and you can rest assured if I come into a break through, it will be forwarded to your hands only."
Kamae stated, bowing gently as he listened further. He was then ordered to gather information on all other races, but his focus should be on earth. He was sure he could find more information about the planet on his own time, and not bother to ask silly questions. After all, Kamae was being sent there to LEARN not be told about it. Kamae was also keenly aware that this spy idea would need him to be less... visible in public than he was now. He'd need to figure something out for certain, but that was for another time.
"Alright, Odin it is. And I will be Loki from hence forth. Well then, I'll go to earth immediately and set about finding answers. Should I stay out of sight of your Emperor? Avoid him I assume? Or should I be forthcoming in all of my answers. After all I do answer to you first, but I'd rather not be killed because he demands answers about what you are doing and my involvement."
Kamae was aware that telling the wrong people the wrong thing was a quick way to being killed. He didn't want to piss off an Emperor if he could simply just avoid having to deal with him.
Kamae made it clear he did need living donors for his experimentation. However, he also did note he didn’t need a ton of honors. Just a few that he could use, dead bodies would do for most of his experimentation. He was going to keep silent with most of what he found, so he didn’t have to worry about Kamae spreading that information. Even better, that information was going to be given to him alone. That would potentially give him a large advantage. Yes this whole situation was going to be very interesting. There was a lot that could go along but there was a lot that he could obtain. At the same time if he was found out, he didn’t want to imagine what would happen to him.
Kamae seemed to be fine with the name he was given and was more than ready to head to Earth. Considering he was already on plant, he would need some eyes on Earth. Now they still needed to contact each other. “You have a way of long distance contact like a scouter?” He would need to buy himself a second scouter that he could use to only talk to Kamae. That way he would not be caught by anyone if his main scouter was hacked. As for his question, if he ran into the emperor, Mint stared him down, “If he is to question you? Well then that means we are already fucked. Do not go confronting him. If you run into him, and he for some reason asked about me you are to deflect as much as possible about your involvement with me. I doubt he will find if your just a spy I recruited, but your work you want to do cannot be known by him.”
Kamae crossed his arms in thought, listening to his orders carefully while also trying to make sure he didn't minsunderstand them. So if confronted by Azoth, do not mention he worked for the Arcosian empire and dodge the subject as best he could. If the Emperor brings it up, he should simply admit it but do not explain further. He would need to develop a proper excuse, like he was a servant... No if it was a casino then perhaps he was an accountant of sorts for the machines? Doubtful he would buy it given his state... He would come up with a reason later on. For now avoid Azoth.
"Got it, avoid the Emperor, if questioned about my employment admit I am your servant or some such. Avoid giving my name and do not directly approach the subject to him. As for communication, I can telepathically communicate with you should I need your attention. It won't matter where we are and it won't leave a trace."
Kamae stated and to even prove the point, he would gently probe the Arcosian's mind with a little "Like this" to let him know he could speak to him.
"Once I am able to settle down, I'll be more than able to speak to you farther away, even on another world.. I just need to learn how to stretch the powers I have further. A simple matter I will solve within a few days."
Kamae would gesture dismissively, knowing that when he was able to begin his work he could figure it out on the fly. He had just never had a reason to sort it out till now. The logistics of it were simple enough.
"With that settled, I'll take my leave of you then. I do not wish to delay and if I am to be effective, I need to begin immediately. If you'll excuse me Oden. I will head to earth immediately."
With that Kamae bowed gracefully and respectfully. As he arose however, the center of his body began to twist up like a whirlpool. The twisting extending outwards further and further till it began to pull his whole frame into the center where he was disappearing.
"Good bye, and good hunting to us both..."
With that, kamae was gone.

Kamae seemed to be fine with every rule he set out. He was going to be able to work with this. Even if the price was high, his plan was to keep Arcose strong. That meant he needed eyes. He only had the one but now he had another set with a low power. Something that others would not take notice too. It was honestly exactly what he needed. And Kamae seemed following his instructions, "Yes the whole using live subject thing I image would piss him off. Saying your a spy is fine if it comes down to it. I'll make sure to distance myself from your...work." Mint coughed holding back his annoyance with that part of the deal.
Anyway, Kamae noted once he settled down, he hopefully be able to talk to him from a distance. That would be good for him. "I see that will work. You will contact me first then. I reside on the Crystal Moon of Arcose usually. We will probably put your little network somewhere else. I'll probably use the cover of one of the many gangs of Arcose to cover your tracks. So no one will know about your laboratory." Another use of his minster of crime on Arcose. He'd destroy most of the gangs build up a second gang as a proxy perhaps. A more legal turning gang compared to himself. But a cover none the less for what Kamae would do. After that, 'Loki' noted he was heading to Earth, Mint bowed his head. "Good best of luck." He would allow him to head off still thinking if he made the right choice. He would have to see on that.
