Sky's The Limit [Open]

Engaging in duels with beings several times his strength wasn't anything new to the demon-Otherworld was packed to the brim with champions from foreign stars, champions who were always willing to spar. Apollyus had gotten used to holding his own when he was guaranteed to lose-after all, that's what had him killed in the first place! However, here he'd not only made the crucial mistake of underestimating his opponent (I should've known that he would transform, I was far too caught up with the kid!) but he could still die!

Of course, I could just escape again! Those blasted ogres didn't catch me the first time and I doubt they'll catch me again! Who knows, however, maybe they improved security-and he strikes!

The horrifying (to the average person) bio-droid lunged at Apollyus with it's massive claws, except he was lunging with quite a bit more force than the savagery of his actions would suggest! In response, a large mass of shadows(?!) amassed in front of Apollyus right as Virus went for his kill, creating a pitch-black mirror from nothing...that promptly shattered into a million, ki-infused shards as the biomechanical monstrosity knocked away Apollyus with ease, sending him flying a few feet into the air. While it was a bit difficult to tell given the demon's strange body, it was obvious that some cuts were made; the deepest bruise, however, wasn't from Virus.

Apollyus used a 7,500 PL Shield Defensive Technique versus the 24,800 PL Offensive Technique! 24,800 - 7,500 = 17,300. Shield reduces damage by 30% of total technique power so 17,300 -7440 = 9860. Apollyus took 39% of his PL as damage!

No one was stopping him? Good, then Tarine would continue running for what he assumed was the way out of this building. Despite taking relatively little time to reach the stairwell, in his haste to escape he kicked open the door without a second thought and practically threw himself down several flights of stairs before he felt something pulling his arm back and someone crying out.

“Stop! Stop okay?”

“What?” Tarine skidded to a halt and snapped his head back, clearly annoyed, it was the employee he'd been dragging behind him. What did he want? Didn’t he realise there was a time limit?

“Are you trying to break my arm? Let go and tell me what the hell’s going on!”

Somewhat exasperated, he replied, “I don’t have time to-” “No, you break into my office, then you-” Tarine just sighed and let go, the worker snatched his arm back and was clutching it in apparent pain. Now he'd wasted enough time already with this stop and could've just left them behind but having a potential death via stray blast or building collapse wasn't something he liked having on his hands. So he gave another sigh before making eye contact and grabbing them by the shoulders. 

"Alright you want an explanation? Outside there’s a big insect who wants me dead because I flashed it after it couldn't respect my personal space. Another guy showed up looking for a fight- which may have saved me accidentally because it's now fighting them instead- Hah, the point is they're more than strong enough to level this building and I'd like to get far away from them both, preferably not with a lot of dead bodies behind me.”

He must’ve stunned the man into silence, or that was such an unexpected response they didn’t know what to say back. To Tarine's irritation people had now began spilling out into the stairway and trying to push past, all in varying states of panic from a mix of the building shaking, Tarine triggering the fire alarm earlier and presumably the fight continuing on outside. Seeing the time he'd wasted Tarine gave an irritated huff before grabbing the employee by the shirt and dragging them the rest of the way down. 

Assuming Tarine reached the ground floor with little issue, and again assuming things hadn’t been horribly destroyed by the fight and people were more confused than running in terror, he made his way through the front entrance and ran a short distance away before releasing his hold on the employee for the last time, they stumbled back, rubbing their neck in discomfort.

"Alright I know you won't thank me, but you're probably out of harm's way. I'm leaving so just head home or something." He wouldn't bother waiting for a response nor would he spare a second glance back towards the building before he dashed off.

He hadn't noticed before but there were various aches running through his body, it was probably the adrenaline wearing off so he tried not to pay it much mind. Getting out of this city was his first priority.

Attempted Exit, since the events of this post would take probably several minutes his escape could be interrupted at any point during that timeframe, including posts after this rotation. It could also be interrupted if actions during that time contradict this post too much. So effectively a soft exit?
