2 days. 6 hours. 53 minutes. 2 seconds.
This is how long Kyoha has been in the Diablo Desert now. Obviously anybody would grow tired of the barren, bandit-ridden lands after that long. However, it wasn't just a simple journey he was taking here. Quite the opposite. He found what he wanted within a couple of hours of coming here. That was the problem, though.
"Hah, you think we're gonna let you rest, Mr. Bounty Hunter?!"
While Kyoha didn't know where the voice came from, from the sounds of it they knew exactly where he was, hiding on the top of one of the colossal mushrooms dotting the area. For 2 days, 6 hours, 53 minutes, and 6 seconds, he's been hunting a group known as the Gunpowder Coyotes. Dangerous arms dealers that have set up shop out here. West City put out quite the bounty on them, even offering the full price whether they were dead or alive.
However, for a group of just 4 people, they were quite the handful. Individually, and in a fair fight, Kyoha should have been able to easily handle this. All together, though, and with the tactics they use? This might even be beyond his talent. Never before has he ever considered dropping a bounty he set out to collect, and yet...Would these hooligans really be his first?
The stalk of the mushroom would explode violently, shaking the entire structure Kyoha laid on as it was sent toppling down. Weakly, he tries to get some proper footing, unsheathing his katana in preparation of what was to come. From the corner of his eye, he sees a missile sailing straight through the air towards him. Without a moment to think, he bisects it cleanly, sending both halves flying away from him into the distance, the combined explosions shaking the ground itself.
That would not be the last of it, though, with a hail of bullet fire coming from behind him now, at the other end of the toppling mushroom. Kyoha spun on the spot, deftly deflecting the shots away with his blade, but after days of no rest and no chance to get any water, he'd grown sloppy, with one finding its mark right in his shoulder. Whatever alloy made up the bullets was hard enough to even pierce his skin as a ki user, and this group had a seemingly limitless supply of it.
Falling backwards from the force of the shot, he smashes into the desert sand, and then is quickly burried by the huge wave of it kicked up by the toppling fungi.
Buried in the sand, exhausted, dehydrated, bleeding from multiple wounds, and without even once landing a hit on his targets. This was a rough job, to say the least.
