Rime did not fly through the city today, as he sometimes did, nor did he bother sticking to the shadows. He was more of an upfront government worker today, after all, and the new government was rather more upfront than the previous regime had been. He was sitting on a high-speed tram instead, reading through some of the material that he had prepared for this upcoming meeting. It was relaxing, in a way, to be able to simply sit among his people, if they could be called that. Glancing around the tram, he saw all manner of different Arcosians going about their business, trying to find their way in the world and waiting for the next stop. How curious it was. Something else caught his eye, though.
On the set of seats next to his, there was a small child, who must have been very young with how tiny they were. The boy was just staring at him in curiosity, and Rime stared back for a few moments, not sure how to really address it. It wasn't as though he minded, but it had been so long since he was open and exposed like this, able to be stared at like he was now. The tram started coming to a stop, where he would get off to head to the capital building, where he would meet the most important man on-world. Standing up and at the door, he turned again to look at the boy as the doors opened. He gave a small smile, and even returned the wave that the boy gave him, as strange as that felt.
Rime walked up the same stairs he had not so long ago, and was scanned by security as he made his way, ensuring that he was carrying no dangerous weapons or intended to cause trouble. He eventually reached the door he was looking for, the two guards standing outside making it more obvious. No doubt appointed by someone outside of the room to make sure it was secure; it wasn't as though these two guards could do much to protect the Emperor if he actually needed that, for some reason. "Captain Rime of Arcosian Intelligence. I am here to share my reports."
With that, he was let inside, and continued on into the room. He had no idea how this would go, or how his reports would come across. Perhaps with what would no doubt be a reshuffling of Intelligence, this would be the end of his career. So be it, in that case.
