The comment about the Saiyans didn't escape the elder's notice, and his suspicions of the boy continued to deepen. He led Rensou into the village proper, traveling beneath a ruined arch into the central plaza. It was difficult for Aulos to visit here, he had known this village in the days before it's fall, walked among it's wide pavilions. It's memory lingered like a ghost where-ever he glanced. Aulos remembered the faces of those who resided here, remembered their names and deeds. Yet not their voices. When the ghosts of the past open their mouths to speak, only silence greets him. This village is a reminder of the follies of power, how it corrupts and twists even the the most peaceful of namekians. It was a potential future for all of Namek if the wrong hands acquired the right knowledge.
"My clan claims that the Mazoku where the ones who committed the first sin." Aulos's tone is somber as he sheds himself of the yoke, gently resting both buckets at his feet. He turned slowly towards the Saiyan, a hand clasped behind his back. "Naturally the Mazoku claim differently." The elder stares at the boy, locking their gaze. His expression was little more then a soft scowl, but there was no hostility beneath it. Rather it was almost as if the old man was lost in thought, pondering his next course of action. Eventually he straightened his posture, and spoke.
"You have completed the warrior's walk, treaded the very stones that my people had walked for centuries. I am a witness to your strength and persistence, a weaker individual would have quit long before reaching this village. However-" Aulos steps closer, and leans in slightly. "Strength alone does not make a warrior. Great power can be a force for positive change, as well as an engine of untold destruction. Integrity is that line between heroism and barbarism. Before I teach you, I must understand you - young Rensou. "
There's a pause, the elder searching the child's face for a hint of deception. Whatever it was he saw reflected behind Rensou's eyes, he kept to himself.
"Is there anything you wish to tell me before we begin?"
