EXPERIENCE AND ZENI GAIN |
On Dragon Ball Sparking, there are two primary forms of currency that impact normal play. The first of these is Zeni (Z), which is gained automatically as you post. Each character has an automatic Zeni Per Word (ZPW) modifier of .5, meaning you will gain one zeni per two words. This is gained per post, and will be used to purchase certain items. However, the strongest items will require experience.
The second form of currency is Experience (XP). Experience is used in order to raise your character's Power Level, purchase strong or combat focused items, and purchase additional technique slots. Experience is gained at a flat rate per post, so long as the word count meets the minimum word count requirement (200 words). In order to ensure experience gain is fairly distributed and you do not gain at an unusual rate in one-on-one threads, the flat rate at which XP is gained varies depending on the amount of players in an individual thread, capping out in five person threads.
EXPERIENCE PER POST (XP/P)
- 2 person threads earn 300 XP/P
- 3 person threads earn 400 XP/P
- 4+ person threads earn 500 XP/P
In order to be eligible for the higher experience per post rates, group threads must pass two full rotations. Otherwise, they will be graded at 300 XP/P.
In addition to this, you may opt to track your total Word Count in a thread to get a bonus for writing lengthier posts. This system is called Overage, and awards words written beyond the minimum 200 required for a post. You will receive 0.2 XP per word that will be added on top of your completion bonus, though levels of SMM will reduce this. This is OPTIONAL- you do not have to track your WC if you don't want this bonus, and is ONLY REWARDED TO COMPLETED THREADS.
The exact formula for calculating Overage XP is as follows:
(Total Word Count - 200 x Number of Posts) x 0.2
* 0.2 becomes 0.1 in SMM
* 0.2 becomes 0.05 in Double SMM.
In cases where a member is deemed to be either padding, inflating their word count for the sake of higher gains, or otherwise abusing the Overage system, they will be unable to use this bonus system for some amount of months. Lying about your WC in your grading post will also get you suspended from using it. In extreme cases, violators may have some of their XP removed as well.Additionally, in order to encourage seeing threads through to their conclusion, a Completion Bonus will be awarded upon thread grading. Provided the thread passed at least two full rotations, and provided it arrived at a natural conclusion where all players exited, players will receive a 20% bonus to all gains in the thread. If other players go inactive, you are permitted to skip them after a few days in order to keep the thread moving. In cases where proceeding without one or more inactive players is not possible (ie. a long-term duel between two players before one quits the site), you may still receive a completion bonus so long as the thread progressed reasonably.
THREAD COMPLETIONSPEED LIMIT
In instances where a character is posting at an excessively fast rate that puts their XP earnings at such a level and speed that it is unfair to expect the rest of the playerbase to keep up with, a Speed Limiter may be applied to them. This reduces the per-post XP earnings of the character by intervals of 50 that vary depending on the severity.
Applications of Limiters is purely based off of maths and XP earning speed rather than post quality. A Speed Limiter is not a punishment- it is a balancing measure to allow players who post at extremely high speeds to keep doing so without throwing the entire balance of the site out of whack. Players with a character that have a Limiter applied should not be shamed or bullied for having one- doing so will result in an appropriate warn.
SPORTSMANSHIP BONUS
All members of open Action Threads rated at Conquest [CO] or higher will be eligible to receive a Sportsmanship Bonus. This is a bonus of 4,000 XP for fair and friendly out-of-character behavior during an Action Thread. It is assumed on entry that all players will receive this bonus. However, excessive negative behavior during a thread will result in the loss of this bonus. Harassment, excessive gloating, excessive complaining or guilting, or other forms of personal attack will result in the bonus being forfeited. More extreme behavior may result in suspension from Action Threads or other site punishments.The Sportsmanship Bonus will be 6,000 XP in Carnage [CA] threads to reflect their higher stakes.Remember: we're all here to have fun. Be fair and friendly in your dealings with other players and, if the emotions run too high, take a step back and cool off.
SUPER MAN MALUS |
Super Man Malus (SMM) is the mechanic by which XP (not Zeni) gains are reduced if your character exceeds the current upper-limit of the site. If you exceed this limit, your gains will be reduced to 4/10ths. If you exceed the limit by more than 10,000 total XP, your gains will be reduced to 1/10th
The current SMM bar will be changed mainly if there are both a number of players at or above the limit, and the overall strength of the site has progressed reasonably towards catching up to the top, outlying players. Major patches may also signal points where the SMM bar raises.
Little Man Bonus (LMB) for characters well below the pack, in order to assist new characters in catching up with older characters.You can see the current SMM and LMB thresholds here.
