Arcose hadn't turned out to be quite the getaway for Faustus as had imagined. Well the people were certainly a class above the Saiyans and even some of the Tuffles he was stuck dealing with on Plant the icy diplomacy and frosty exteriors left a lot to be desired. While at this point he'd never contemplate returned to Plant without an army at his back he did need to take a break from it all. What did these people do for fun? There wasn't much in the way of abandoned structures to loot; kidnapping subjects for experimentation was off limits too, at least he assumed as much. He had just got here; best not to break the laws yet.
There was something else he had heard of, something which came up quite a few times when talking to the more 'rural' of the inhabitants. They called it a Ca-see-no. Caseeno? He hadn't heard any of those mentioned back when he was on Plant, though with that being said he wasn't exactly the kind of guy to take a day off back then either. Now that he was working for the winning team? Well it's fair to say there'd be a lot more vacationing. But back to the Casino, as it were spelt--just what is it exactly? That's what this little exploratory trip was all about. Let's hope it goes well.
Arriving a few hours later in his pod, he stepped out and was greeted with perhaps the most cheerful sight the Majin had ever laid his eyes on. The people of Plant spent too much time killing each other to even know how to enjoy a place like this, while the capital was too embroiled in politics and subterfuge to ever get away. One the one hand you had the technological marvels of the theme park which provided fun for the whole family, while on the other you had the space for the night life: the dark and dangerous figures spent their time here gambling away everything they owned then doubled down for good measure.
His last trip to an amusement park had been a mixed bag, and the casino was a new experience for him so that's where he was headed. Of course the place itself wasn't just one casino; it was consortium of them, acting as one giant resort. There were several themes among then which caught his eye, even one which was Saiba themed for all the Saiyans visiting. For Faustus though, he was trying to get away from Plant for now, so instead he choose to go in the largest of the lot. The two bouncers at the door gave the little purple man a few funny looks; nothing he wasn't used to though. When he dropped Azoth's name they promptly moved aside.
Immediately the bright lights of the joint blinded Faustus, but after a few seconds of adjustment the infectious attitude of the patrons took hold. He couldn't help but jiggle and jive his way past players across the floor and over to a table with one empty seat left. He felt right at home in this place; there was even a Majin just a few meters away who waved at him! Gambling wasn't something stored in his memory; his creator must have not seen it fit for his creator to waste his time on such frivolities. Well, he isn't in charge any more so screw him. They called this game 'poker.'
The first few rounds he just observed while trying to get a feel for the game. With a mind like his it was almost insulting to have to study a bloody card game but he wanted to join in on the fun. After a few hands he picked up the gist of it; cards with faces good, cards with numbers bad--or something like that. It was at this point the dealer informed him he would need to place money down or else he'd have to leave. And here he thought it was all for the fun of it; alright fine. The Majin didn't keep a wallet on him or anything like that, preferring the trust confines of his stomach instead.
He reached down his throat and grabbed all of the Arcosian currency he could hold on to. He wasn't sure how much of it there was exactly but the dealer gave him plenty of chips in return. The next hand was dealt and Faustus got his cards: a two and a three. Not a great start but poker wasn't just about the cards dealt; it was a mind game as well. All he needed to do then was use his mind to figure out a way of cheating without being caught. That was simple of course; he just needed to use his magical powers to switch his two and a three into two Arcsionsian Emperors. He was going to make a killing tonight.
